Dane's first visit
Переглядів 1,5 тис.10 місяців тому
This clip captures Dane's inaugural visit to the shop. He'd been on the road with the 6-string prototype, and concurrently, we were crafting the initial iteration of Oceana. While David fine-tuned the prototype in an adjacent room, Dane instinctively seized an RS5-22 in 70's trim and unleashed this mesmerizing passage. I struggled to train my camera on him in time, but I'm elated we captured th...

I’m use to him on the 6 string Jen smith. He got a 5 now.
You guys make some amazing basses. The tone from your basses are top-notch.
Thank you! We appreciate it!
Great TONE from a beautiful bass ! Was this filmed at The Bass Cave at NYBW ? Or The Bat Cave ? 😂
Dane! That P bass, w/ tape wounds, sounds SO GOOD!! But the 6-er... that's just an untouchable sound. Great work! (I am not sure if you have the tape-wounds on the P in this video or not...)
Not seen the YJs with Dane before... Great stuff. He keeps it interesting, always plays it like a bass rather than being a frustrated horn player :) Thanks for posting this, will definitely check them live now.
Very nice bro!
How do I get one of those snazzy shirts?
Great interview, great bassist.
🔥🔥🔥
I love it when the younger generation gets into the old jazz fusion, all is not lost.
A real humble guy too!
Impressive
Amazing how he can make that bass gytar sound like a piano, aharmoniky and what ever that band is playing
I just built a jazz bass last month. Now I’m turning it into a stingray with a jazz body. I’m pretty stoked.
Best jazz basses made.
It was done before but on the guitar for sound effects. 1970s Electra drop in cartridges. Peter Frampton comes to mind.
I remember those, Chris Squire had one also
I remember Chris Squire used an Electra in the Yes video Tempus Fugit. Never had the chance to play one though.
Amazing technique, and a great writer!
1140 on the SAT at 10 years old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!! Not only is DW an INCREDIBLE BASSIST, and a very grounded man, HE'S A BRAINIAC!!! FANTASTIC INTERVIEW!!!
Dave makes some beautiful basses! And he’s a great dude, too. Met him @ Gerald Veasley’s Bass Boot Camp in ‘2019. I played a 5 string MM style and OMG! A stingray on steroids! That’s my dream bass!😌🎶🎸👍🏾
Los mejores
What cab and amp was he playing through? Sounds killing
It may have been an old Techamp 2x12 cab, I don’t remember what head it was
beautiful!
Sick sounding bass love! What amp cab were you going through? Whew!🫡
I think that was an old Tech amp we used to have in the shop. The sound in the room was epic!
@@beezelite thanks a bunch! Looking forward to playing them some day

This is an absolutely fantastic piece of solo work. His listening for space and breadth is making the groove move and flow perfectly. Attention to that highhat is very noticeable!! The pocket is nice and comfy!! It all works and it’s making his voice shine as it should!! Fantastic solo and it moves the body. That’s how to solo.

A brilliant bass player and an all round amazing human being. Hard to believe that it's coming up to almost a decade since Dane joined the Yellowjackets and has proven to be a fantastic addition to the band. They are truly blessed to have him on board. Absolutely love this guy

@@chinny0803 yeaa idk i dont really have any budget for another fuzzdrive pedal lol was kinda hoping it was some weird modulation effect, ill be keeping my 333 dollars for the next one iguess
I live in Levittown so we're practically neighbors haha. I've been saving up for a custom bass for a while and seeing you guys are so close AND you make such beautiful bases I definitely know where I want to spend my money! Keep up the amazing work!
Looking forward to meeting you!
Amazing Dane❤
why it called 'cremona' ? cremona was a czech/slovak guitar factory in 60's-80's (now called 'Strunal'). and there was another one factory in bulgaria that called Kremona with 'K'
It's a reference to Cremona, Italy where the worlds finest classical instruments were made.
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Dave’s the man.😌🎶🎸👍🏾
Any type of “play along” practice is irreplaceable. I do it as part of my daily practice routine on both electric and acoustic bass. And especially with classical music. It’s helpful on so many levels (bowing, intonation, sight reading, dynamics..etc) Not to mention a great way to familiarize myself with pieces that I’m not familiar with.
Love that Antigua finish! Nice colors Dave.😌🎶🎸❤️👍🏾
Hello, Do you have avaliable basses in stock? Than you!
From what little I heard from the B string, it sounds really clear. Not overwhelming or out of character.
D. A is currently one of my favorite Electric Bass Guitarists. Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬👊🏿🖤
Wow, he plays with the volume really cranked, huh? Dane's a huge inspiration and one of the best to ever "suit up" - thanks for capturing and sharing!
I really wish I had been setup to record but it all happened so quick lol!
This is freaking cool
i was waiting for a video like this from you guys. this is awesome. the amount of time and effort and precision Dave puts into these instruments is just impressive. Every little detail is mastered to perfection and meticulously executed... i definitely need a bass form you guys at some point 😎😎
Glad you enjoyed it!
Is there going to be a part 2 of this video?
Yes. Our hopes are to show progress until they’re complete.
Good info right, here.
Glad it was helpful!
Very Nice
Thanks
