How to glitter a phone grip
Переглядів 3,2 тис.5 років тому
Gently pop the top off and hold it by the tabs on the side. You only need a very small amount of epoxy and if you have too much it will fall over the side. I let it sit just for a few minutes and then pour glitter over it. Let sit a few more minutes and gently pick up and shake off the glitter. I let it sit for at least a few hours before putting the 2nd coat of epoxy on. Then you can gently sa...
Love it
Where do you buy neon pigments
HI ! Very pretty !! I love working with alcohol inks .. Thanks for sharing !
Thanks for putting. That on you tube. The good times. Was class of 1980
Beautiful cup
This looks awesome! Did you get ripples from getting so close with the hair dryer?
Not at all. It turned for 8 hours after this and smoothed right out.
Awesome
I need to take mine off do I don't make a mess
You make it looks so easy. Can believe I haven't try it before. Thanks for making it so simple.
My daughter wants to know if she can do this to plastic tumblers?
I have done epoxy on plastic tumblers, but keep in mind that if it is not a double wall insulated plastic tumbler--the sweat from cold drink may cause the epoxy to lose it's grip on the surface and can come off. Also, because plastic is more flexible it may not be as durable. I would suggest trying it on a test one first.

she fucked it up with her finger 😡 in my opinion....it was perfect
i love the whole process pretty easy and good job
Thank you
Wonderful tutorial!! Just a little tip from one tumbler maker to another... when I wipe my cups down with alcohol I always use a coffee filter!!! Completely lint free!!! Your cups are absolutely beautiful!!!
Love this video!! I'm gonna try and make a Cowboys!!!
Awesome job. Can you tell me what are you using to turn the tumbler ?
Type cup turner and u will find out
SO YOU USED 30 OZ CUP AND HOW MUCH EACH OF MIX DID YOU USE TO COAT THE CUP TOTALLY IS THAT 30 ML OF BOTH OR TOGETHER 15 EACH ALSO WHAT IF YOU HAVE A TURNER THAT TURNS ONLY ONE WAY NOT REVERSE IS THAT OK TOO
Awesome tutorial! Would this look the same with a white base? Have you tried?
were did you get the orange matte finish
That’s how I apply my epoxy also! Nice tutorial! Thank you!
I’m not able to change the direction of my cup turner. Will this ruin the cup if I don’t?
The rotation direction should not affect the design at all.
Wow!! Best alcohol ink tutorial I have seen so far, and your cup turned out so beautiful. I cannot watch these live tutorials because they are way too long, and some people tend to lose focus on what they are doing by answering so many questions. Your tutorial was straight to the point and I loved it. Thank you for sharing.
This is badass! I was doubtful but it turned out beautiful
Can you tell me what color orange did you use?
I'm not sure about what color I used to spray paint the cup with but the alcohol ink is Sunset Orange from Tim Holtz
what color and brand base paint did you use ..beautiful by the way
I'm sorry but I don't remember 😥
Nice video. Can you make a video to show how you made the cup rotation. How much fo you recommend selling these for?
Thank you. All of my finished tumblers are on my Facebook page: facebook.com/lifebydesigngraphics but I am not currently selling right now. Pricing dues vary by individual design and I do not have any specific set pricing. You can find the video for building the cup turner by searching youtube.
Great tutorial. Thank you. Please make a vid showcasing the final pieces and where/how to purchase them. Cheers!
Thank you. All of my finished tumblers are on my Facebook page: facebook.com/lifebydesigngraphics but I am not currently selling right now.
Great tuturial. Beautiful cup
I have a heatgun, but I'm wondering if a hairdryer would actually be better with this design because of the forced air pushing the epoxy around! Prob easier and a better result.
As long as you don't hold it in one spot to long or it will cause the epoxy to create craters.
Looks amazing, thank you for the tutorial! This may be a stupid question, but would there be any benefit to using some alcohol blending solution in the process? Thank you again!
I've never used it but if you try it, let me know how it works.
Mary Salonick i’ve used it with alcohol inks on flat surfaces without Epoxy. It works really nicely in that application, but I’ve never seen it used in this manner, so I’m not sure how helpful it would be. If you also use alcohol inks to color flat pieces, such as coasters, I would highly recommend. There are tons of videos that can show you what they are able to do.
I love it! I can’t wait to try it myself!
Love it! How much epoxy did you use? Mine are always a fail and look like dried spots. Awesome tutorial. Thx
I think 30ml for a 30 oz
loved! thks
did you buy the cup pre coated or did you paint it yourself
I painted it with Rustoleum orange
Pretty!
thank you
Beautiful
Great video! I’m going to try it this weekend
Hello! Just want to ask about that Harley tumbler. My hubby is a huge Harley guy and i want to try to make him a tumbler like that. Did you use regular vinyl? Your video is awesome and i am learning a lot. Thank you for sharing.
Yes. I layered vinyl on the 1st few that I made and then I found that printable vinyl and white vinyl was much easier. The color didn't seem to be as bright as vinyl so if you have the patience, I would suggest vinyl.
Thank you very much Mary. I told my husband about the tumbler and he's excited about it.
I want to make sure that I understand - you made the decal. I thought it was a sticker. I have a few stickers - would that work? and do you put a coat of epoxy over it again.
@@lindashaffer2454 Hello. I make my own vinyl decals but you can use stickers too if you want, just make sure you give time for it to adhere before you put a coat of epoxy. :)
Yes...I made the decal using vinyl cut on my Silhouette by layering the colors. You can use stickers also as long they lay flat against the cup. After you have applied the decals, yes...you put another layer of epoxy on it to seal it.
Great tutorial. What is the color of the base paint? Thank you for sharing.
It was just an orange Rustoleum spray paint
oh no a hairdryer!!!! why!!! lol
Because I refuse to spend money on a heat gun when this works for me ;)
After you let this dry and you add your decal to it do you epoxy over the decal? Also did you sand your cup before you spray painted it orange?
Yes. Sand after it is cure because you are sure to have some dips in it from the hairdryer. Once it's smooth, apply decals and put another layer of epoxy over top.
Where can I buy the blank grips ?
I have a few left if you are interested: www.etsy.com/listing/665362674/blank-phone-holder?ref=shop_home_active_1&frs=1
That is really really cool. I wish there was an inexpensive way to do these cups. I’m on a tight budget. This cup is beautiful though. Thank you for sharing
Jill Fancher there is, a lady did a video using all dollar tree products. Look up epoxy tumbler without spinner. She explains all the products she used. I used the same and did my first 4 cups this week.
Sa-Queen Carter ok thank you! I’ve tried some with dollar tree items, they do work pretty well
Jill Fancher yes they do
Not only is this freaking gorgeous...But you jump straight to the point and it’s extremely detailed. Thanks so much for this video...I’m going to try my first one tomorrow. 🥰
You are welcome. Hope your cup turned out beautifully.
I love this! I'm going to try this this week
So a few questions what alcohol inks do you use. May sound stupid but how long do you leave it on the spinner before you move it to your stand well if you have a stand?
The inks were just the sunset orange and pitch black from Tim Holtz. I spin mine for about 4 hours
This is the best alcohol ink tutorial I’ve seen!! Your cups are awesome!!
Thank you
Gorgeous
Beautiful! And you did it so confidently. I will definitely try this technique.
This looks awesome!!🤘🏻🤘🏻
So I'm watching this thinking "that's an ugly design". Then you turned on the hair dryer and wow, that looks great. 👍
I thought the same thing. Wow
