🔼 🔽 Must Have Dump Trailer Upgrade for under $20 - Wireless Remote Control
00:00 - Intro
02:29 - Remote Installation
09:25 - Installing new lights
20:03 - Doe with two fawns
In this video, I add a wireless remote control to my dump trailer to allow me to control the bed while I'm pulling it to allow me to dump dirt and rocks easily. I also get all the lights working and add side fender lights to help me know where the fenders are so I don't crush them or something else.
Link to the remote: amzn.to/3MzTpKy
BONUS: Watch till the end where I have a doe with twin fawns in the yard. They can't be very old at all and momma is showing them where the good grass is. I can't believe she brought them that close to the house. My wife has a strict, no doe policy (don't tell her I usually bag one or two with friends).
Thanks for watching and be sure to leave a thumbs up if you liked the video and subscribe to see future videos I plan to post.

Pulling T-Posts in dry, hard soil. Using my water tank to soften the ground.
Переглядів 58День тому
In this video, I pull some old T-Post from a ground that hasn't seen any rain in a while so I use my water tank to soften the ground and use the tractor to lift them out. I also give a quick tour of how I set the water tanker up to serve multiple options such as a fire truck, remote pressure washer water supply and a sprinkler. Thanks for watching! SAVE YOUR AIR COMPRESSOR! Install an Electric Automatic Drain Valve!
Переглядів 17 тис.Рік тому
I installed an automatic electric drain valve on my air compressor so I wouldn't have to bend down and drain the water from the air compressor ever again. Not draining your air compressor can cause excessive water to build up in the tank and cause all sorts of problems. It's not good for your air tools and can cause failure of the tank due to rusting. Face it, manually draining the tank is a pa...

    Keep the Gooloo but invest in a couple of battery maintainers such as Battery Tender or NOCO. Throw those vehicles on one of those once a month or so ( more if it’s really cold out ) and you won’t wear out the Gooloo.

    I have the Chevy sonic LT turbo. and I must have even less room. its like how the heck do you get to the bottom screw. Mine has 3 screws. two on the passenger side an 1 on the driver. The 1 on the the bottom. how the heck do you get to that with all the AC lines radiator lines etc. are all in the way. I guess I just got to keep working at it. I think I might have to move things to get to it you make it look like and in and out with ease, and only took you like only 15 minutes it looks like a 3 week job for me. LOL.

    Does an automatic drain valve allow you to keep your tank full all the time so you’re ready to go anytime without having to refill the tank from empty? If that’s the case, wouldn’t you want the drain valve on all the time instead of wired to the motor run only when the compressor runs? Just trying to learn before I purchase one.

    • @fnitup
      @fnitup 6 місяців тому

      If you wired it to the wall, it would eventually drain all the air from your compressor or cause it to run since it purges air every time. You could wire it into the pressure switch but I'm not sure if the valve would work with 220v or not.

      Yeah...and when the wife needs you or the kids call and you have to leave in a hurry, or you're over 50, you WILL leave it on sometimes. If you use it everyday, sure. If only used on occasion, this is perfect. Punch the timer and forget it. Heck, I always try to remember to shut mine off anyway. So that means I had to go to the breaker to turn it in. If I'm making a trip anyway, just use the timer. It's brilliant. Efficient. I like it!

    I think I would tie that power switch on the tank drain into the circuit when the compressor kicks on. Then set the auto drain to every 1 or 2 minutes (While the compressor is running). Then set the drain time to maybe bleed of a couple short bursts like every few seconds or so. That way, everytime the compressor starts, so does the auto drain switch. When power goes off on the compressor switch, it also shuts off the auto drain switch.. Then, it's not popping off every 45 minutes during every 24 hour day. I don't know why the timer is only a max of 45 minutes....should be hours or days, not minutes.

    • @fnitup
      @fnitup 6 місяців тому

      I agree with you on that but I have mine wired into a timer so it only runs when the compressor is powered on by the timer.

    I started taking careful notes to implement this for my air compressor, only to learn that PEX degrades rapidly when exposed to UV light (e.g. sunlight). Apparently latex paint can be used to protect PEX, but I'm going to use copper, PVC, or something else tolerant to sun exposure for the exterior parts.

    • @montanasoftware5954
      @montanasoftware5954 10 місяців тому

      Don't use PVC. That also degrades with UV exposure. Copper would be great.

    Ummm. With a 36 grit grinding wheel, you are grinding off a lot of the blade, and leaving it rough. Personally, I prefer hand filing the two mower blades I have --- one is a spare so that when changing blades I have a sharp blade ready. Hand filing consumes a minimum of the blade, and leaves a nice, finished surface. I might feel differently if I had nine blades to sharpen, though! And I don't need any artificial aids to get a good angle. That's easy enough to do with a little practice. I do agreer that blades need to be sharpened often. They dull up pretty rapidly. A real key to making it easy to sharpen blades is that I have ALL the tools needed to remove and replace the blade in one place, so I'm not hunting around for what I need. A separate took kit. That includes a sandbag I u8se to hold the handle of the mower down for access to the blade. Everyone is entitled to their own blade sharpening style. I present my own in case some might find something they'd like to try themselves.

    I did the same thing with my compressor a few years ago. However, I wired the automatic drain timer in to the run side of my compressor motor contactor, so that the drain timer is only active when my compressor is running. This does not waste air pressure and keeps the water out of my system.

    This video was really more for me to learn on with some of the newer equipment that I bought to produce some better videos. Since I had to start getting the mower set up, I figured I'd try more of a story style video since this would help be play with the gear and some editing. I do fix something on the tractor that I've seen a few videos on and these folks struggle to get that pressed pin out using a hammer and a punch. I thought up this method and it worked like a champ. I hope you enjoy the video but if you want to just see the "meat" of the repair, you can skip to 3:30 in the video and get to the repair. If you want to check out the 18 foot wide mower, skip to 14:40 Thanks for watching!

    Great job! How is the insulation protected against rodents?

    • @fnitup
      @fnitup Рік тому

      To be honest, I'm not aware of it having any resistance to them. The vinyl facing is fairly durable against damage but wouldn't stand up against a mouse or rat that wanted a nice cozy place to nest. I've worked in several buildings with this type of insulation and we never had much of an issue though. Your question sparked my interest to see if rodents like fiberglass insulation, and from what I read, they do. I'm more concerned with the two cats that we added to the shop to keep the mice out. Never been a fan of cats and never had them before and they sharpen their claws on everything... wood, tires, etc. We added some scratching posts around for them and they seem content with those as of now. I can only imagine what the insulation would look like if they decided to try it out. My long term plan is to have the entire inside of the building skinned on the inside with 3/8 plywood and a mix of pegboard along the lower 8' area. This will protect the insulation, provide a place for shelving and storage and also make things look nicer. I have done some of the building already but have a good bit left to complete and just can't get the time to dedicate to it.
