I also pre-ordered Powerslave (from Amazon UK, because it seems to be only available there at the moment). As for SIT, if there are no differences with this one, I think I might skip it this time. But something similar happened years ago with Brave New World, and I got them both back then, so we’ll see. I’m not against re-releases, especially for anniversaries, if they’re done right. I liked this SIT, although I would have preferred an official live from the Future Past tour…

Once again, I missed the comment... You're exaggerating, here in Italy there are people who have written books about collecting Maiden material, so there's still a long way to go. No no, label variants (on both VHS and vinyls) are not on the list, there are just too many other things I would like to find first

@@kyxmaidencollection No exaggeration on your vinyl, you've certainly got one of the biggest collections on YT. Not sure how much merchandising you collect. I would love one of them books, first or second edition, I don't mind. I don't go out of my way to get label variants but when I see them at fairs for a nice price, why not. I'm not a big fan for online buying. Therefore, I'm limited to what I see at shops and fairs. Not a great deal of imports about. Though, there was a nice Mexican LAD LP at the fair last month but he wanted £75, way too much for me. Last year, a trader wanted £100 for a Polish LAD LP. I'm getting a reputation for being a big Maiden fan at the fairs. I think they bump up the prices just for me lol. Excluding the Japanese vinyl for obvious reasons and LPs that have the extra song (even though we've got the song 10+ times lol). Then, why do you have 30+ LPs of all the '80s vinyl? I like something different about the covers that differs from the UK version which will nearly always have a different label, too.

Never seen that one, I'm gonna look for it. I found the VHS back in the day of its release, I haven't been very interested in it since then, so I don't know if it's a rare item now. I have a couple of very strange Chinese CD copies of DOD, I don't think they're official because none of them were released by EMI. Both of them are in weird box/digipack cases, I don't know if one of them is like yours, but I paid very low prices for them too

Do you mean the inner sheet? It's not so easy to make what you ask me so that it can be interesting for everyone, and unfortunately I don't have enough time to make a video about such a specific aspect of a single type of editions. However, what I can do (even if it wasn't planned) is to show them again when I make the video for the individual albums, so that when I get to the Japanese edition I will show the inner sheet again. But if in the meantime I get an idea... Maybe a short...

Eh, il problema è quello, sono tanti, e se va bene li trovi sui 30-40 l'uno più la spedizione... dovresti trovarli in blocco, forse così risparmieresti qualcosa, ma la spesa sarebbe comunque importante

@@kyxmaidencollection A volte però capita che dei pezzi non ufficiali siano veramente fatti bene. L ultimo esempio è il CD box di The Number of the Beast per il quarantennale con tutti quei gingilli. L ho preso, pagato un centone, ma non me ne pento. Discorso contrario per quelle versioni, se non mi sbaglio russe, che avevano i singoli annessi agli album. Li avevo ma li ho rivenduti perché non mi piacevano le copertine 😂😂

In most cases, a reissue is an easy way to raise money, you don't have to be cynical to think so. At least they made these less banal. About the inners: honestly, I thought they were based on the English ones, the UK copies I have are quite similar, apart from the merch sheets. I didn't know about the triple Live After Death thing, I wasn't a fan yet at the time of the release. Instead, as far as I remember, the two A Real were always planned separately, with the Live At Donington seeming a bit more like something decided at the last minute. The TSHT replica is the real gem of these reissues.

@@kyxmaidencollection If they based them on the UK vinyl inners, then, someone did a lazy job. Especially on the early LPs. Though, it looks like they tried to give some of them the round corners look, but only on the top of sleeve, on one side, strange? UK original vinyl inner sleeves: Debut: black paper. TNotB: card, 4 round corners. PoM: black card, 4 round corners, large hole. Powerslave: card, 4 round corners. Real gem for sure. Steve, likes to talk about the vinyl being special because of the limited numbers. He probably doesn't always have say in what gets reissued on other formats.

There are some old videos that I think were about interesting titles but were poorly edited at the time, so I preferred to re-edit them. There are only a couple of them left. I saw (not listened to) a copy of the German 7" and it looked the same as the UK one, so the song you're talking about I think it's in a promo version of the single or something like that, but I've never seen it so it's all speculation.

@@kyxmaidencollection Note to self, if it's on the net, take it with a pinch of salt, a big pinch lol. If a promo has a different version, it's gonna sound weird to the public when they get the standard one. I'm guessing the Axe Attack one was a mistake and once they've made too many, they're not throwing them away. I only found out about the 'AA' in the mid '90s when a friend said his version sounded different. Managed to get one 18 months ago. They're not that rare? (10K pressed, apparently) but it can still be awkward to find one in good shape.

Well, not all the reissues are crap. Sometimes they made something cool, nothing essential, but nice. In the next video here on the channel we’ll see a reissue that I think is one of them. I don’t know how algorithms work, but I guess an unknown title like this is not searched so much on YT and therefore is less trending

@@kyxmaidencollection Reissues not crap, just milking the fans. It's cool to make reissues for younger or newer fans who might not want to search for an original. When they make a nice pretty box to put the vinyl in, it's mainly us old hardcore fans who are buying it to keep our collection going and the band know this. With every new vid you make, just put best IM collection ever. That should help out 😁

@@kyxmaidencollection We can never be sure for a "full set" as there's bound to be some obscure unlisted item. I need the non patch and the Parlophone versions. I don't count promos as essential items, still, nice if we can pick them up but the price is the annoying side. So right. A guy at the fair wants £10-15 for Fame tapes, in average condition. I'm hoping to get the originals for approximately, £5. The price of vinyl is pushing people towards cassettes, me thinks. Thanks. Yeah, I was so close, I could smell Steve's stinky monitor hogging foot 🤣. Still got my tickets, programme and some shirts.

Got my EM 117 (non patch) variant at the fair on Sunday. Checked it with Discogs and noticed a UK 7" plastic injected silver label variant. My theory, these plastic variants, almost invariably have a juke box variant as well. Sorry mate, spoke to soon for your full set. Keep hunting...

Poi sapevo che Powerslave è l'album preferito di Bruce, Somewhere In Time quello di Adrian e Seventh Son quello di Steve, magari con questa referenze qualcosa potrebbe accadere 🤔

I'm not from Florence, but I've had a girlfriend from there, so I know those shops quite well... About Can I Play With Madness, all my copies are listed on Discogs, so I've never seen a copy like yours. I remember there was a site from Austria that listed many versions of Maiden records, but I'm not able to find it anymore. Anyway 7" labels are one of the most terrifying nightmares for a collector, there are a thousand types of them, only cassettes are worse. But I'm curious, how many fairs are held in your area?

@@kyxmaidencollection For the last 3 years, I've been going a local one (1 mile away), on the last Sunday of the month. Since Xmas, another one has started (5 miles) on the second Sunday of the month. The next nearest fair is 16 miles, but I only go this one if the correct Sunday falls on a Bank holiday, so far, I've only been twice. The funny thing, between '84-95 I used to go the fairs at least one a month. Would see a batch of Maiden singles, flick through them and think I'd got them all. Nobody spoke about variants, apart from coloured vinyl and pic discs. I wonder how many I missed and could've got them cheap. I did get conned 5 months ago. Bought 20 items, one 7" was the jukebox version but on closer inspection, the hole had been bored out lol. At least it was cheap. I can understand someone trying to make it look authentic if it was an expensive item but with a cheap as chips vinyl, it's laughable.

@@kyxmaidencollection Lol. For what it's worth, the UK has the same photos (maybe 1 or 2 extra?) as the Japanese version, just a different layout. Think I'll stick with my one video variant, wouldn't mind picking up that US LD, though. Found a Holy Smoke UK 7" with a paper sleeve, at the fair on Sunday. That's another one currently unlisted on Discogs. I'm up to 11 UK singles that have card and paper sleeve. It was a bit overpriced, so bought a German Powerslave (w/ tour dates hype sticker) to get a bigger discount.

Reissued singles are easy to find and cheap, so you can take your time. But if there's one lesson to be learned, it's that if you're into a collection - even if it's no longer your priority - when you see a new box, get it.

@@kyxmaidencollection Agreed, but I didn't even know the them boxes were coming out as I didn't see them advertised because I was a lazy pig. I don't see that many reissued 7"s at the fair but do see plenty OGs. So happy to pick up the Japanese LPs last week, I'd almost forgot about the 4 variant singles. The best of the bunch is, UK 7" Be Quick or Be Dead, black plastic label duke box variant. Also, got Maiden Japan paper sleeve (EU/German). Now got 9 MJs but as you know, this one has too many variants to collect, even for those of us with OCD lol.

Good to know about the stickers, so it's not mandatory to find a copy that has them... Excellent purchases, they are very satisfying items. And you're right about the poster, it's definitely what defines that release

@@kyxmaidencollection It's only his opinion but as he's being doing it for so long, he should know better than most. Unless the sheet of stickers has a catalogue number that matches the vinyl, then, they shouldn't matter. Obviously, the blue (SiT) and chrome (7th Son) stickers are official and are a must have item/s for us with OCD. W/o the poster, inserts and obi, it's just another £30 average LP lol.

You're right, and, from what I can see, there's no catalogue number on the front of the stickers sheet, so unless it's on the back, the opinion of your Japanese trader seems correct

Quanto a The Number Of The Beast, la cosa pare essere un po' più complessa: effettivamente l'obi della seconda stampa è senza il rettangolo rosso (quindi per le reissue del 2012 hanno preso l'obi della prima stampa e cancellato la scritta nel rettangolo... mi hanno fregato), quindi sembrerebbe tu abbia una prima stampa con l'obi della seconda, oppure una seconda stampa nella quale è stato messo il poster. Per la cronaca, nel box rosso c'è scritto: "Prima tiratura, solo 50.000 copie, incluso poster a colori di grandi dimensioni"

That LAD gatefold has an excellent front cover, but I'm afraid the previous owner didn't pay attention to how it should have opened, so the spine isn't as good as it should be and if you don't pay attention it tends to open all the way... I definitely need that first edition. Japanese might want foreign editions just because they're cheaper, but other than that theirs are much better in every way, imho. Powerslave also has the same problem with cover textures... they do it on purpose to drive us crazy. Never seen that postcard in SIT LP, but probably it could be like you said. In any case, yours is a great piece

@@kyxmaidencollection Missing items can be the problem when buying second hand, even so, Japanese people look after their items a little better. Even though your SiT promo has an item missing you've got the all important blue sticker, lots of them go missing or get used. Got my LaD 2 years ago, didn't notice the minor damage to back of sleeve until I got home. Wasn't going to buy it because crossword booklet was missing but the vinyl looked unplayed which persuaded me to handover my money. Never played any of my J-vinyl (they look to nice to start wearing them out lol.). Never knew about the virgin vinyl until recently and I obviously can't comment on the audio quality aspects. As collectors pieces, they're my favourites. Saw a first edition J-TNotB last year at the fair. Absolutely played to death, no poster and he still wanted £65. I laughed inwardly and said, no thanks. If I can't get VG/ex-condition, then I don't mind playing the waiting game. Some traders are getting greedy even with crap condition vinyl.

Sorry mate, I missed your comment... I couldn't believe it either, but there was a time here in Italy when some of the press said that about Blaze and Bruce. But it's not surprising after all, seeing the average taste in music here. Most CD singles are quite easy to find online, while buying vinyl today is a nightmare. Any type of vinyl. People have noticed that they are back in fashion and the prices have increased.

Some of the charity shops vinyl prices are more expensive than the record shop and they don't care if the condition is crap, just slap a high price on it. Everyone thinks they're sitting on a gold mine. The internet has ruined finding a bargain, unless one is super lucky. Did find 7" Can I Play with Madness non promo white label at the car boot, crap condition but for 70p, can't complain.
