Weekend recap of the HRH Racing Vega at the IHRA Hot Rod Classic event at Xtreme Raceway Park, April 12-13, 2024. First and foremost, a huge shoutout to XRP and the IHRA for hosting and putting on a fantastic event. The weather was great, the racers and crowd were awesome, BME Photography captured some killer shots and IHRA TV did a great job of live streaming the event. The good Lord kept us safe, and allowed us to race this car!
The Vega did it's thing this weekend, that's for sure. This was the first time we have had the Vega out at XRP so it was a new track/surface for us. After working out the bugs on the launch during the time trials on Friday, we were able to get the car dialed in and running its number.
Saturday saw a change in weather, so it was back to the tuning board to get a handle on the wheel spin out of the hole during the time trial, but as the day progressed the track really came around and the Vega found its groove and was dead on the number.
We raced against some great drivers and teams and made it to the quarter finals both days. We are excited to see what the remainder of the season holds for us.
