All, and I mean ALL, faction in Skyrim is less immersive than its predecessor (Oblivion, and especially Morrowind). So yeah, by themselves some of it is kinda good, but once you tastes the possibility of what it could be (by playing the same faction in other game) you cant help yourself but feel dejected. I understand, lore wise it is kinda logical because in Skyrim everything in empire, including the faction that operates inside it, is in decline. Civil War, post oblivion incident recovery effort, external War with High Elf nation, etc. But gameplay wise, it is unforgivable. Sure lore wise its alright, but that shouldn't be no reason for the gameplay & quest sequence to also be declining as well. Just compare the Theif guild & Dark Brotherhood quest in those 2 games... The scale, the creativity, it just get worse in Skyrim. And dont get me rant about Mages guild.
