Before I begin, I humbly request that you listen to this video either in the car or with good headphones. It’s just better that way.
COJO has been a huge inspiration on us as a band and as individual musicians. Sonically, lyrically, and ideologically.
The guy is the very first to truly go the distance as an independent artist.
He single-handedly brought back traditional country music and has kicked the doors wide open for punk kids like us to be able to make that traditional country twang from the 90s that we all grew up on commercial and relevant again.
This particular song is tied with “ the only one I know” to being my personal favorite song by the living legend. Eli speaking.
I would be remiss to not give a massive shout out to the boys in the band on this one, The Faster Horses, there’s a term that is not used lightly in this industry when it comes to overly exceptional execution of music…
That word is “NASTY”
To put it in perspective, if you have a fellow musician tell you that you are a nasty player. It is a huge compliment.
Boys, you were absolutely diabolically disgusting on this song.
Bamshackalaka dirty nasty.
I say that unbiasedly and from the bottom of my heart.
I couldn’t pick a better group of dudes to be backing me up on stage.
