Feel like we’ve heard it all before

Mine still won’t come on. I took the chip out, cleaned it up, and put it back multiple times and it still won’t turn on. I’m using brand new batteries as it was given to me without the power supply. Do you think it’s possible to turn on if I buy the power supply?

The reason I want to build modular system is drums sounds. In my humble opinion modular drums sounds are so good and unique that is hard to achieve by "regular" drum machines. I just ordered case and trying figure out power supply to it.

Does the RS-9 send accents through 5 pin MIDI OUT? Or is it just midi notes and sync? Thanks

Best hat module out there. I own the SSF Metalloid, all of the Erica ones, 2hp, the tiptop clones, larger modules with hats/percussion etc...This one is loaded with such a diverse set (even before effects) and then the sculpting/fx/filters etc. just take it to a new level. Amazing module.

Use a bunch of vcas, mixers, filters and fx modules with feedback next time :p

They Keys on the Erica Synths Drum seq are like a real 909 and it's quite for live performance. You get that tactile feel and know that you have pressed the button. If the Keys on the RS-9 are like the ones on the RD-9 then they are quite bad imho. I have returned the RD-9 because of the bad buttons. But i am just spoiled by the quality of Elektron Buttons.

I love that it also has midi and i can use a combination of midi triggering a drumset/multisample on the bitbox (or blackbox) and drum modules or patches/envelopes.

What about running a sampler off it???

I'm not sure I can sequence midi out to a synth to get a bass line???❤

Nice rambling. My only drum module for the foreseeable future is the Disting EX’s sample player app so this isn’t at the top of my shopping list, but you got me thinking. About B----, I own a fair bit of their product. I really like several of their semi-modular units. Their Eurorack modules are generally fine but not very inspiring; basic functionality in a fair bit of HP. But they make it easier for people, me included, to wade into the hobby so I think they are ultimately beneficial. Right now my Go case is mostly filled with non-B--- modules from makers who probably wouldn’t have made any money off me if it wasn’t for B’s line.

Yes, I’m one of those who’s iffy about percussion modules, but this one seems extraordinary. Very very Shakmat: highly playable, complicated, dense, flexible. Yet quite different from other brands that tick the same boxes. IDK if I’m going to collect enough percussion modules to do The Thing but this one is certainly in the running.

Have only played the Matriarch once (with patch cables, I can't play keys to save my life). I instantly loved how the patch section was laid out. Combined with the saturating mixer, awesome sounding filter and delay. What a beautiful instrument!

30 Minutes and you did not explore that it also is an awesome "instrument" as a standalone noise maker without an input. I love mine, one of the few modules i probably never will sell.

Yah polyend have brilliant instrument designs and they do everything they cam to hobble their machines with sloppy and erratic firmware development or lack thereof. I finished more songs on tracker than any other groovebbox I own, despite having glaring omissions and bugs with never seem to get adressed. If you buy it, don't do it on the premise something you can't live without is going to get added somewhere along the line. , if you accept as is it's a ton of fun.

If you like this module I hope you get to borrow a Magneto and making a video on it. I just got one dead cheap for money I was saving for an oscillator... "A few moments later" Eh. Magneto is an oscillator, sort of, and this video gases me. Anyway, "so what you are saying" (Who needs an oscillator anyway) I should consider Starlab!
