What is your neurologic monotoring? Why do you stay on left side for right carotid? Why do you prefer bovine over Teflon patch?

WOw, so satisfiying to see the big chunk of plaque removed and the walls cleaned like a pressure washed plumbing. The other videos leave the walls with a thin layer of plaque? I was wondering if there are advancement in techniques to loosen the plaque from the walls and remove them clean

One more question, if anyone is monitoring this. When the facial vein is cut, it doesn't appear that it is sutured back together, is that true? and if true, would that cause an issue?

All the video's I have watched show the RIGHT Carotid Endarterectomy. Is there much of a difference in the surgery if you are doing the LEFT INTERNAL Carotid artery? Just curious. Thank you.
