What is the point of "true dual" stacks? You only have one pipe exiting from your turbo, it will have to be split at some point.

@@grubb910 if I put a cummins in the truck at some point. If the 6.0 that's in the truck stays good, it's not going anywhere. And the point behind it is the same reason your true dual a 1969 dodge charger R/T with a 440 or 426. It makes the engine breathe better and therefore you make more power. Same thing on a diesel v8 in a Ford.

@@ChargerusPrime Do you understand that all of the exhaust leaves the engine through one turbo? There is only one outlet. Having dual exhaust is not a benefit. It has nothing in common with a 1969 Charger.

I don't really recommend it. That being said, the 6.4 Powerstroke was proven to be unreliable, and ten years ago, the truck its self was valuable enough to somewhat justify swapping over to a Cummins. The cost of a good used Cummins engine was similar if not less than a 6.4 Powerstroke engine at the time, so it seemed worth spending some extra coin necessary to make the swap happen, for some folks. You got the "cool factor" and arguably better durability. A 500HP Cummins is much more reliable than a 500HP 6.4, and you have many more proven options for going well beyond 500HP with a Cummins as well. (There isn't anything magical about the 500HP number, just using it as an example.)

I can only see it as being reasonable if you have an older Ford with an IDI (or gas engine in any generation F250+), or an 08'-10' 6.4 truck, that also has sentimental value. Although, people do things that don't make fiscal sense, every day, haha.

Not bad, compared to what? It's definitely the last light duty diesel pickup engine I'd want to own, or recommend to anyone else. When they work, they are great, but.... they are a money pit, shaped like a pickup truck, that may open at any moment.

@@mitchellbrown6709 only ford managed to put their own diesel engines in their own trucks, Duramax is made by Isuzu. I personally don't care who makes what as long as people enjoy their own rides. I want to swap AJD-V6 or OM642 into ranger.

@@litoaykiu Gm and Isuzu collaborated on it back in 1998 forming the DMAX then in 99 GM bought Isuzu out so the duramax is a gm motor

It is a common rail, I don't recall if it was a 6.7 or 5.9 block.

Bro same I love the body style. I seen a few 7.3 swapped ones, but a cummins engine on a ford frame and body is the best.

Yes, there are little holes at the bottom of each header tube at the bottom of the bend. 1/4" or less in diameter. When you turn off the boat, water dribbles out.

No, I didn't have brakes. I never towed it very far, but did have a nice hill to go up and down to get to the boat ramp. It seemed to do fine stopping it at low speed, but I wouldn't want to run 60mph with it. Your best bet is to stick with the vehicles maximum tow rating, because if you run into someone it will automatically be your fault if you are overloaded.

Ever have a problem getting it up the ramp?

@@tandemdori it wasn't really a "problem". I chose this ramp knowing that it was a relatively mild incline. My car is a manual trans, and I have a Southbend clutch, that is kind of grabby. My strategy was to get a little bit of boost and spin the tires slightly, instead of slipping the clutch a lot. It yanked it out just fine. If you have another person with you to throttle the boat at the same time, it would be a piece of cake.

Nah, you might see that smoke, but it is actually steam from the water injection on the headers. I had the flow cranked up a little bit too much, for running it while on a water hose.

It did have one fouled spark plug though.

@@lelandharper2099 yeah it actually sounds great in person. It did in fact have one bad spark plug, and to much water going through the headers in this video. But I only got so many videos to share haha
