Pastor sometimes fear is an emotion we can not control, what do we do when we are already afraid.
I guess what you seek to know with your question is, how to deal with sudden fear? First, note that the best way to deal with fear is to fortify your heart (mind) ahead with a life of faith in God's Word and by having attitude of total Trust in God. "You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3 "...the just shall live by Faith" (Hab 2:4, Rom 1:17, Gal 3:11, Heb 10:38) However, there are occasions of sudden fear What to do in the case of sudden fear 1. Stay courageous - the right and first response to sudden fear is courage, stay courageous in the face of Fear (Josh 1:9). Courage is bravery in the face of fright. It is finding strength in the midst of pain and danger. You will always have the option to either stay courageous or cave in when faced with sudden fear, so chose courage instead of caving in to the pressure of fear 2. Find a scripture to encourage your faith at that moment (Rom 10:17) - That is why it is essential to know scriptures and have God’s Word at heart 3. Keep your heart at peace through the Word of God (John 14:27) 4. Confess God's Word and your faith in the Word continually, until your faith rises to the occasion (Prov 18:21) 5. Be attentive to the leading of the Holy Spirit- He always speak to give direction at such times (Habakkuk 2:1) 6. Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit (Rom 8:14) *You can keep rebuking the spirit of fear while you confess the Word (number 4).
