I love this and the lore behind it. This is not some exe or whatever entity in a game characters skin, this IS Mario, or at least, what he was. This is what happens when a video game character is left behind in their game, he got... Creative with the fun. And he doesn't see much wrong with killing, because he probably died a lot, but he has extra lives, so why not just go on a spree? But I digress He is oddly trying to murder and *motivate* , like a video game boss wanting you to retry after wrecking your shiz, oddly enough. He genuinely sees this all as a fun game, and wants bf to enjoy it, and above all else, not be ALONE. So when he sees that Bf is actually on the verge of escaping, he is *panicking* , he does NOT want to be left behind again after so many years, he sees every player as a "old friend", because Mario is "Mr video game" himself. "Wait, where are you going?! Don't go, it's time, Mario! I know you love my games, you wouldn't be here otherwise, you put in the old game cartridge, you MUST enjoy my game. IT'S HERE IN FRONT OF YOU, WHY ARE YOU LEAVING AGAIN WHEN IT'S A ME?!" Very well done, this is a superb lyrical adaptation
