Good choice! You know, Matt Uelmen participated with the POE soundtrack, and in any case almost ALL ARPGs take inspiration from Diablo 2's music. Also, if you enter the Hellfire Peninsula in WoW, you'll immediately notice that it's his work. Also 'Terokkar' and some more, I believe. Torchlight, for sure, and there's more .. :)

'Wilderness' is my favorite track too, it's a masterpiece!

​@@SpaceMysteriesDecoded This being a live stream, I couldn't do this better with my setup at the time. Had to actually be able to play the game at the same time. Recording something with prepared intention produced good results. Some super beefy PCs could probably do 1080p60fps live streams at that time. I knew how to do it but I didn't have the cash for it. Even today many have no clue about how this stuff works, sadly. You'd need a 4000 euro+ PC at the time and you would have to know what you were doing in order to produce really good results.

I think that many have a similar feeling. One can't go back in time but set aside some time for a real playing session, undisturbed, with the in game music .. go for it :)

It set a standard for all ARPGs and even some non-ARPGs too.

That'll be wild. Pretty sure that even if Blizzard doesn't do it themselves, AI will just make it happen via some elaborate software or something. On that note, AI will probably be able to do a perfect remake and/or overhaul of absolutely ALL games at one point .. with ease ..

Probably very accurate. I didn't dig very deep into Baldur's Gate 2, but I certainly played it. These two games are both D&D based and they're setting standards still today.

Yeah. I like the vanilla game experience but I strongly prefer playing with some stash mods at least if possible. Used to play single player with ATMA only back in the day, and now with Diablo 2: Resurrected I'm online playing regularly, but there are some good stash mods and stuff for Single Player D2R too.

Many can relate, although admittedly I was no longer a child when Diablo 2 was released. Of course, my mom would say otherwise .. ;-)

Diablo 2: Resurrected is often on sale on Battle.net for like $10-12 :) I like the remake, it's true to the original, although the OG version definitely has its charm as well of course.

Interesting position. It might be both perhaps. I'm not sure how I would label it, but take one look at a track such as 'Wilderness', for example, this one lasts for 8 or 9 minutes. And it kind of takes you on a journey. I think that all in all this soundtrack is something special, something super unique, something that really can't be replicated.

Can't escape ads these days unfortunately. Certain 'programs' may help, but I use the YT Premium myself, it's worth it in my opinion .. no ads for peace of mind + some other useful functions.

Well, it's Matt Uelmen's work largely. This video is admittedly not absolute 100% of all of Diablo 2's music after all - if you really immerse yourself and play the game, and that includes listening to the in game music, you can sometimes notice that 'remixes' sort of are being played. Try to just really play the entire story of Act III for example, don't rush through it. Read the quests, and listen to all of the NPC chat at least once .. .. the answer to your question is that. But I'll also mention that he did work for at least Torchlight II, WoW:TBC, other games. But this is his masterwork. On that note, I've replied sort of in debt to other comments before, saying that "Playing the music on a second screen for example, and also muting the in game music is sometimes more comfortable, because the in game music keeps changing at times, sometimes you wanna hear the holy story so to say, and for me this includes the sound atmosphere as well. Once 'Wilderness' starts playing for example, I wanna hear the whole thing through." But that's in regards to OG D2. The current sound settings for D2R are absolutely perfect. The graphics are fantastic. It's so true to the OG game. Thanks to the devs for that! Used to have to just paint a broad stroke over it, now you can pin point all of the sound details exactly how you like it. I think that D2R is an absolutely fantastic 'remake', the work is sublime,

Honestly, look. They did but I'd argue that they still do. They've got some pretty epic music soundtracks going on for all of their games. I'm also a WoW player - no complaints about the music - they keep producing these things, year after year. On the topic of the Diablo 2 music - well, you can't really just 'copy' it. It can only serve as an inspiration, much like the game itself. :-)

It certainly has the power to set the mood. I like to just play the D2 music on the side while gaming on, even for D4 sessions too. The D4 music isn't bad honestly btw, but one thing that I don't like about playing music from the in-game engine is that the tracks keep stopping when changing zones, etc.

Doing exactly this right now :) Another good thing about playing the music from an external source is that sometimes you just want to listen through an entire song, but the way games are designed, they keep cutting off all the time, and you might not even like all of it either.
