STOP Ruining Your Camping Trips with Bad Coffee
I bought one of these on clearance for around $30 more than a year ago. Took it on a camping trip with me and used it all week. It fit 2-3 pieces of wood at a time and would last me a few hours in the evening. I would go to bed once I got down to low coals and 2 hours later it was just ash left. Is this thing perfect. No. But for the price and portability with how it collapses down it is perfect for me using it a few times a year.
That's a steal! I love it enough to pay the $100 for it! Jealous you got one so cheap!
Look good but my biggest concern is battery. Just like cellphones and drills these type of batteries has a 3-5 year lifespan. What happens after that? These batteries don’t look like you can just run to Walmart or Home Depot.
That's a fair concern! I'd assume you could order one online somewhere, but honestly for how convenient it is even if I only got 3 years out of it I'd just get another one! It's hard to beat how packable it is
The big sigh coming from Cole at the end 😂 18:51
😂😂
Not even surprised lol
My favorite line "I got it to take ice cream with me"
The most Cole thing ever lol
@Meanderin_Mitch 100%
"I need a better sleeping bag" orders one within 12 hours of this video being made 😂😂
Shhhhh don't tell everyone lol

My grandpa always said "you work, you eat, and you work, you eat" I feel like that fits with this group. Everyone plays their part.
Playing their part indeed!
Those tacos were soooooo good! Unexpectedly impressed.
Factsssss
Now I want to know that story...
I do wish the back was more upright or adjustable. It leans back too much for casual sitting.
I will say I've kinda gotten used to it, but I also like sitting pretty slouched! Their other models do look a bit more upright tho!
I’m happy to see an update on these. I have been wanting one. Nice video!
Highly recommend! Glad you found it helpful!
How fo you hook up strip lights indide tent
In the model that I have there is a USB plug for the strip lights but there are a few different versions of this tent!
I just enjoy the comfort of my apartment 🤷🏽♀️
What if you could take your apartment outside?! Cause that's basically how I camp hahahaha
7:20.... he in fact did not cut that out LOL
What fun would that be?!

No!

Camp Chair!
What style is your go to chair??
I love the hobo pie comment!
I hope that isn't what you call them too...
Hahah thank you!! Is that what you call them?
Thanks for sharing. #VRAFamily
hope ya got some value from it!
Strictly a car camp sleeping mat.
The friends that use this use it in their tent, while usually pretty close to their car, they could take it a good ways away pretty easily with something like a wagon! Definitely not for backpacking by any means but something to think about!
Picked one up for $40 last week at Walmart. Used it twice this week. Really impressed so far.
I absolutely love mine! I have a few different small ones and the Ozark is probably my favorite! Just a bit bigger than the others so finding wood for it isn't awful!
That’s me!
Yes it is!
So proud of you! This first episode is 🔥 and I can't wait for more to come!
Thanks! Cheers to many more episodes!
@Meanderin_Mitch so many more!
Cant wait to hear them. Should be some great conversations!!

Cool! Good to know! Glad they put some meat in there! Haha
They better for the price! Lol definitely a great meal tho! Also! Thank you for the comment😋
Have you ever thought about dehydrating your own meals?
I have I actually really wanna try it soon! Might be my winter hobby!
@Meanderin_Mitch do you have a favorite meal you would want to try first?
@@carlabober hmmm thats a good questions lol. I feel like Id like to do some chili mac! I think it would be easy and could be really good!
$10 for a tiny bag of wood pellets 😳 a 40 pound bag sells for less!!! and same for fire starters at Walmart SOLO STOVE IS S A RIP-OFF!!!
ya... was not a fan at how much the pellets were or how long they lasted...
Have you tried putting KilMat on the aluminum under the mattress to lower condensation?
I have not. I know there is a mat already in there that is meant to help with condensation, but thats pretty much all i know!
Hi Mitch, Thank you for the review. I just took delivery of my Polaris Plus. I had a question about your topper thickness but now see that it has been answered below at 4" thick. Thank you for your time.
Glad you found what you needed! Hope you love the tent!
Found it thanks
I hope it showed you what you needed!
I am considering buying this awning. I have a Jeep as well with a Gobi rack like yours how did you mount it to the Gobi rack? Do you have a video on that ?
Glad ya found the other one!
I got one because we are in a burn ban. Hope less smoke will help keep me from getting busted.
Just be careful! If you don't use the right size would it can still be dangerous to use in dry conditions!
Where's your next Meander?
Idk somewhere hopefully pretty cool tho!
This looks like Witches gulch in Wisconsin.
You have some correct letters! but its in NY!
@@Meanderin_Mitch crazy. Looks identical to the Witches Gulch in Wisconsin near Baraboo. Look them up! :)
@@JP00700 Sounds like I may have to just plan another trip...;)
Very clear and direct to the point, easy beginner camper friendly.
So glad you liked it!
I never knew the details to pitching a tent. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely! hope you get to put it into use soon!
Does it put out as much heat as an open fire pit ? Will it keep you warm?
The heat seems to escape high with this one. I have a solo stove that works very well for for putting out more heat and uses much less wood than an open fire pit
@@Meanderin_Mitch thank you
Yup yup!
Hi from VRA!
Hey thanks for coming I appreciate the support!
My mount plates only came with 4 total
Yup yup that's the max you can use with most racks! I've had mine mounted since I got it with no issues! (Knock on wood)
Do you find most tents to be pretty similar to set up?
Yes almost all tents are very similar! There are some exceptions but typically those are for very specific situations!
Good straight forward tutorial! Coming from VRA!
Glad you like it! Thanks for the support!
@@Meanderin_Mitch Always good to support another in our niche! Sub'ed!
@@MissionOffRoad appreciate you!
The bird belongs there you go away.
Hahaha you right tbh
I never knew I needed one of those until these videos. I love the warmth it gives off.
Definitely a great addition to the camping kit!
Many thanks for a nice straightforward and honest review. I especially liked your "real-time" packing-up segment. It seems like lots of other videos sugar-coat their content and don't always give you a genuine real-life example of how the product actually works. So thank you. Question... If you didn't have your additional 4" mattress, do you think you could keep a semi-bulky, 2-person sleeping bag and two pillows up in the tent and still get it closed? Also, any idea of how much the tent would weigh without the mattress (and anything else you could take out of it)? If you don't know, no worries. Just wondering how light I could get it so it is easy to take on and off of a Tacoma. At about 175lbs, you probably need 3 people instead of just two. Thanks again and happy camping.
To start I want to say thank you for the comment and I am glad you liked the video! I would say it would depend on how bulky of a sleeping bag and pillows you add. The mattress topper I've added is very bulky, but when you push down it compresses well. To do this well I do stand higher than the jeep and press down with body weight using a good bit of force. I think you'd be able to close in just about any bedding, it would just be more difficult. Also I don't think anything you take out of the tent is going to make much of a difference for weight the mattress and condensation mat can come up but weight basically nothing. I would say I pully system of some kind may be the best bet for you if mounting it is a concern with the number of people you have to do it. BUT make sure you have the clearance driving out of your garage after the tent is added, i don't think that should be an issue with a truck mount, but for jeep people it can lead to a sad day... Lol
Hey man are you alright? Your arm is a little beat up there.
Yaaaa I play baseball when I can and dove a few times and tore it up pretty good😅 all healed up now tho!
