The Harvest Fun Continues! Major Breakdown | Harvesting Beans #2
The fun of harvest continues, we knocked out another field and now only have 12 acres left to do. If you watched till the end you would've seen the bent header shaft, this is going to delay us big time. Hopefully the weather co-operates and we'll get this breakdown fixed. So far the bean crop this year has been amazing and we're all very impressed with it!
Also a big thanks to Robert Gauthier Trucking for helping us with the transportation of our grain! There is still more content to come for harvest, so stay tuned and subscribe!!

Delivering Beans! Verner CO-OP
Переглядів 1552 роки тому
This is just a little video to show the delivery process for the beans this year!! We are sending them to the CO-OP in Verner, ON for storage and we will sell them once the prices are to our liking! We managed to get 31 metric tons in this truck wich is the highest to date. All of them have been close to 30 though, so we are very happy. There is still a few harvest videos to come, so stay tuned...
Harvesting Soybeans! The moment we've been waiting for! #1
Переглядів 2932 роки тому
Finally, I can say that harvest 2021 has started! We knocked out ~85 acres and have another 25 to go! We've obtained 3 trucks so far and should be able to get one more! The beans are looking great, we're yielding about 50bu/acre and the moisture is around 12.3%. It's a really exiting time of the year and also very busy, but we're all thrilled to be out in the field harvesting our crop that we p...
Let Harvest Begin!! Harvesting Oats!
Переглядів 2762 роки тому
Well we had a friend of ours calls us to do some custom harvesting. So, we're kicking this year's harvest off with 10 acres of oats! We had the combine in town so I could work on it, as it would not fit in the shop and we had lots of work to do. The oats turned out really well, the moisture was around 11% and we were yielding around 50bu/acre! This was a great opportunity to get the combine out...
Baling Hay - Finishing up Hay 2021!
Переглядів 1633 роки тому
We're finished up hay for the 2021 season and it feels great to finally be done, but it wasn't easy. For the last bit of hay we had the worse weather, mind you it never got rained on but the humdity was very high leading to severe dew in the mornings. This lead to a very difficult time in drying the hay. Now that it's all finished we are waiting for the beans to turn and be ready for harvest! W...
More Spraying and a Final Push for Hay! (Cutting Hay + Spraying Fungicide On Soybeans)
Переглядів 863 роки тому
We sprayed our beans for the last time this year! We applied Stratego Pro Fungicide to protect our beans from various diseases that could affect our yield. We also gave it a shot of liquid fertilizer which contains mostly potash! This will help the beans while they are in the podding stage. On another note, we are giving a final puch for hay. We cut our remaining 45 acres of hay and once we bal...
Baling Hay - Squares & Rounds

We ended up baling 550 small square bales with our BC5060 baler and 152 rounds with the RB450. It took us 4 long days to complete this 55 acres of hay, from cut to delivery. I'm just glad that its over and now we can take a small break! I want the thank our crew for coming out and helping us with the squares! We still have another 40 acres left to cut, but that will all be round baled (thank go...
Get'er Done - Spraying Beans and Raking Hay!

It's a very busy time of year! We are in the middle of finishing our second round of srpaying on the soybeans and hay season is underway! The classic herbicide worked wonders on the canola problem and now we just have to apply our fungicide next round of spraying. In terms of hay, we got it all raked and ready to be round and square baled next video. It's looking like a great yield on both crop...
Hay! It's time to cut!
Переглядів 843 роки тому
We had a 4 day weather window, so it's time to cut hay! We cut 55 acres in about 4 hours with the Pottinger mower. After we finished cutting, we had to deal with the volunteer canola problem we are facing, so I went and sprayed two of our fields with Roundup again but this time at added Classic Herbicide to the mix to knock out the canola! So we ended up leasing a Merlo 27.6 telehandler for a month! Our first job was to level the fuel tank with it which was no problem at all!! About a week after we did that, our Dekalb 003-29 soybean seed and 0-0-60 fertilizer showed up form the CO-OP in Earlton, ON! So we took delivery and unloaded all that, I couldn't imagine doing it without a telehandler!! Because the truck did not have enoug...

When we remove a disk gang we lower the entire unit down close to the floor and remove the hanger bolts from the rectangle tube. Then we raise up the disk and slide out the gang, hangers and all. You have two hanger bolts instead of three bearing bolts and it moves the hangers out of the way. During reassembly you can start the hanger bolts without having the gang lifted up completely tight against the frame. This allows you to adjust its position slightly.
