I'm thinking about buying the whole door latch assembly and just changing the sensor off the old switch. Can that be easier or even possible?
Thx for comenting. I'm sure It's possible to only replace only the switch. However, The latch also wears out as the switch depending on the age of the vehicle, The Best thing to do is always change the complete assembly latch and switch. Besides the faulty operation of the switch It was also physically damaged possibly by it being slim jimed..( either someone got locked out or it was broken in too ).
Nice tutorial thanks
Thx, Glad to help.
Thank you Sir. Good simple video with only the required talking. I LOVE the lack of background “music” noise! Thank you again.
Thank You and You're Welcome glad to help. Thx for commenting, like and subscribe. Have a nice day.
What do I need for mine to stop I changed the batteries on the remote and the car itself I asked a guy but he seems to believe it’s a girl thing that I’m leaving the light on do I need a sensor or fuse changed
The video is about the battery getting drained ( dead battery in the morning ) because the window goes in and out of drop down mode when vehicle is turned off ( usually @ night ) Not sure what your question is, and what the remote has to do with It. What symptoms is your vehicle exibiting ? Are you getting a dead battery in the morning ? Is one of your windows going up and down when ever It feels like it as in the video ?
@@mymechanic5211 the same thing my battery dead and either one window is half down and the other completely down. One place said it’s nothing major to change the battery in my key fob and it’ll stop but it didn’t. When for a second opinion and a lady mechanic said oh well let’s try the car battery could be a cell and I thought it was good the next day drain battery same 2010 Challenger. Now when my van did it Dodge caravan I had the fuse changed it stopped.
@@mymechanic5211 wasting money for them to not even come close this (what you explained in the video) it’s the weekend so I can try to fix the problem myself instead of another annoying shop stop to pay for stupid labor that’s not fixing my problems. Thank goodness you had this up… most shops hear you but we have to run test (468$) then say it’s electrical I pointed that out it’s obviously not body work or a huge modification
I'm guessing you still have a problem, Have you ck'd the drop down switches as In the video ? The drop down feature only applies to hardtop vehicles, Caravans don't have that feature However most high end Chrysler products have autodown or autodown and autoup and when there is a problem with the internals of the window motor if the window is rolled down and you hit the autoup feature It will roll up all the way and then immediately roll down about half way. (FYI the drop down problem and the autoup half way rolldown are to different problems you could be experiencing 2 problems combined into1) Does your vehicle have autoup feature ? And if so has It ever rolled up all the way and immediately gone down half way ?
@@mymechanic5211 I went to a junkyard and snagged a couple pieces from them and all seems good the windows are up this morning so we will give it a try to see if it drained. Thank you again for being informative!
Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot, what system do you use on your laptop ? are still using it, Im interested, im using Lunch now and im looking for alternatives, thank again
You're welcome, Glad to help and Thx for commenting. Do you mean the scanner ? It's not a laptop It's the Snap-On Zeus Scanner on a docking station with an aprox. 32 inch remote monitor setup. The scanner Itself Is a tablet type scanner. It's a pretty good system but very pricy...
Thank you for your video! The freeze frame of the wiring diagrams was very helpful. I have an 04 Acura MDX that appears the have the same problem. There is no continuity from the clutch relay contact to ground, and bypassing the relay doesn't make the clutch engage. The interesting aspect is that it was after I had changed the mix door actuator, replaced the Schrader valves, evacuated and recharged the system that the problem started (at least that I noticed). Once the above was done, the AC was nice and cold, then the clutch would disengage. First it was intermittent, now open all the time. Thanks to your video showing the connector to the clutch I was able to at least reach down and try wiggling that connector - pretty much the only thing left other than the clutch itself, and still no continuity. Now I need to decide if I want to tackle changing the compressor on this vehicle as a DIY without a lift. Having someone else do it would cost more than the book value of the whole vehicle at this point.
Glad to help and Thx for the reply. It would be unlikely that replacing a blend door actuator would cause and open circuit to the compressor unless the PCM or A/C Control Unit Is sensing a problem and the system Is dissabling the clutch relay, But you did say that you jumped the transfer points in the fuse box and made sure that one of the transfer points ( the feed ) had @ least battery voltage is that correct ? Also If you just opened the system make sure the system is still charged you never know the refrigerant could have leaked out. Test for voltage @ the compressor connector on the compressor side of It and if there's @ least battery voltage test resistance from the compressor connector to ground as I showed in the video. Retrace your steps (aka double ck) before you start putting parts into It...
Do you happen to know what the part number is for the actuator/motor?
Sorry I don't, you'll have to call your local Nissan Dealer for that so you can make sure you have the correct application for your vehicle model and year.
You have a link for that part
I don't, you will have refer to your local dealership or a parts store.
Nissan will cover this repair if your car is between the year's 2019-2020 or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
Thx for the Input, It's good to hear that Nissan is helping with these repairs.
Which Nissan Dealerships? I’m in Tampa I bought my certified 2019 Nissan Altima and I was told it’s not under warranty
I'm having this issue now. Window was moving up and down by itself. Git it fixed, and now the car won't start without a jump. Goes dead while driving.
Charge your battery and load test It, If It tests good do a charging system test. If the battery tests bad replace It with a new one or a known good one then do a charging system test. How many times has It drained the battery ?
It’s been doing it for about a week now. Replacing battery today.
3 times & 3 new battery's?@mymechanic5211
@@EricHansen-fr3cz I'm guessing you're getting a dead battery in the morning, How much time passes for It to drain a new battery ? Is the window still going up and down by Itself when there's a fully charged battery ? If It Is most likely that's whats draining your battery. If not Install a fully charged battery and do a charging system test If charging system test fails most likely you need an alternator (some of those are computer controlled so It could have another problem) If charging system test passes then you'll have to do a Current Off-Draw test to see if something else is staying on and and causing your dead battery condition.
@mymechanic5211 back at dodge dealership 3d time new battery I got each time both window all parts replaced now the 1st passenger side up down car off again ? Next day battery dead jump and back to dodge crazy 🤪 2010 in my icon classic rt. Sick 17 weeks car in shop total
Hi, great video, I'm dealing with the same obd code ... Could you give the oem number of your broken actuator/motor, not the whole grille, please sir ???
Sorry but I didn't take a pic of It cause It was an assembly when purchased
On another video I saw some codes: 7629SL S8 SC8L9 60C/L LESZ 0006200S9W. Maybe that’ll help you.
Where do I get the plastic shaft?
As far as I know It's part of the shutter assembly, but perhaps you could get a used one from a wrecking yard.
What the price point?
So is it supposed to say open or closed
It can be either open or closed depending on conditions. The new one came with the louvers closed, I'm sure sometimes once it's installed on the car they may be open. The point of the video was to show that they should not move freely. The gear mechanism on this one was broken. As I mentioned in the video there can be other things wrong to triger this code.
Thank you so much. I just order my new active grill shutter I’ll change it this week. I let you guys know. I have a question … the code P059F should disappear after fix it or do I have to replace a fuse or restart the computer? what do you guys recommend? Thanks
Yes, the code will eventually be erased out of memory after several good trips. However the quickest way to erase/clear it is with a scanner or a code reader. Disconnecting the battery or removing a fuse does not always work on some vehicles. Remember that there can be other reasons why this code gets trigered, I only showed a mechanical malfunction wich seems to be the most commom problem however the code can also be trigered by an electrical problem. Thx for watching, commenting, and subscribing.
Okok perfect thank you so much . 🎉🎉🎉 have a great day
What was the fix? Replacing injectors?
Bad PCM, no injector driver. Replaced PCM Injector circuit resistance was within specs
Where are you located? Close to Mississippi?
Cali
Can I use one on a conversion just need power and ground and ignition power and I’m set ?
What do you mean by conversion ?
Thank you for taking the time to share👍
Glad to help
Look bro you’ve obviously had some drinks and stating it’s simple sure 👍
Yes it's very simple, If you think 2 or 3 wires in a circuit are complicated you should seek help from someone with experience in wiring or a professional to give you pointers. I can make videos on basic electrical theory and testing which will make it even simpler to understand. Also I don't drink when I work, what you see in the intros are after work recreational.
Its extremely basic and he explained it perfectly. Please take your vehicle to a professional
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it. Did It help You ?
Excellent video. Thanks.
Glad it helped
Did it idle rough? Mine has p0174 but didn’t notice any difference. Probably vacuum leak?
It ran pretty smooth but it had a lack of power under load that was very noticeable. Vacuum leaks are one of the first things you should look for when you have a lean code. Since you only have a Bank 2 code you should focus on that Bank
I am working on the same car. When you jump the clutch you see a small spark there. I do not have that spark and the clutch wont jump. What should I check next?
Depending on the load the ckt is getting you might or might not see a spark. 1. Make sure that you have correct voltages @ the PDC (fuse box) so that you are sure you are transfering power. If you are sure you are transfering power and the clutch is not engaging then you need to go further down the ckt torwards the compressor. This video does not show that but I have another video that does It's on an Acura MDX this system is almost the same as the civic system aprox 95% Here is the link ua-cam.com/video/SojcXd7TS-I/v-deo.html
5:54 will that part also be known as Canister Purge Valve? I have a code on my 07 Honda Fit P0456 and it keeps coming back even though I bought a new gas cap.
Yes they are the same component, Purge Valve and Purge Solenoid. It can also have the words Canister, Charcoal Canister, or Evap Canister in front of It, It all depends on the Manufacturer. This Video is based on a P0497 Low purge flow code, Your code is a P0456 Small Evap Sys. leak code so Some of the video will help you to a certain point cause there are more components to test for Your code However you can start @ the Purge Valve since beside the gas cap It's the easiest to access. Replacing the gas cap is the simplest and most Inexpensive component you can replace. The purge solenoid will have to be tested not only for operation as in the video but also for It sealing ( closing properly ) when not in operation.

what if the relay was ok and not the problem? what would be the next step?
It could be a few things, lets eliminate a couple Q: Can you hear the relay click ? Q: Is there voltage @ the compressor connector ? Q: How did you determine the relay is ok ?
@mymechanic5211 I hear the click and when I jump the magnetic clutch with a wire it spins. relay is brand new.
Where did you jump It @ ? The compressor connector ?
@mymechanic5211 I jumped it. At the Magnetic clutch relay. Just like you did in the video. By compressor connector Do you mean? Pressure switch?
@mymechanic5211 compressor connector did you mean the power transfer side like in your video?
Hi, I have a 2007 civic hybrid and my compressor clutch is always engaged during operation. So what causes the compressor not to cycle a on and off while running the ac? Thanks!
I'm Versed on Hybrid Theory but don't work on them, Could be Electrical or Plumbing related... I'll look up wiring diagrams for your particular system when I'm back in a couple of days so I can give you an idea of possible causes. Questions : Is the A/C cooling ? Is the low side line freezing up ? Do you hear a hissing sound from your dash when you turn the A/C on ?
@@mymechanic5211 I put a new compressor, condenser, drier, evaporator, and expansion valve. I was getting cold air the first 2 weeks then starting to dissipate. I’ve never seen my ac clutch cycle to off and on . And now the static pressure is low at 40psi. I tried adding freon but it’s not as cold. I’m hoping it didn’t dry out my compressor because it was running continuously. As far my suction line being freezing cold before I don’t think so but it was cold. Thanks!
One thing I have to mention is The Safety Issues when working on High Voltage Systems... They can be Hazardous to Your Health, Make sure you know the Do's and Don'ts before attempting any repairs. With that being said... Sorry for the delay... Most likely I won't be able to help you with this seeing the type of compressor it has, It seems to be a High Voltage Compressor ( I don't work on Hybrids ). On some vehicles depending on the type of system the compressor clutch always being engaged is normal. But lets get down to basics of operation... Before we go any further I want to make sure we're on the same page, When you say static pressure you mean low side running pressure ? What are the running pressures for the low side and the high side ? When the system is off and the pressures are equalized what is the pressure on both low and high sides ? What is the ambient temperature where you're @ ?
@@mymechanic5211 I found out that the low side schrader valve is leaking. Evacuated, removed and replaced suction line, then recharged the system. AC blowing cold air again and suction line freezing cold but still don’t see the compressor cycling off and off. Maybe this is normal for this system like you said. Low side pressure is 30psi and 160psi while ac is running at 85 degrees ambient temperature. Low side and high side at 95 psi when not running and equalizes . Thank you for taking the time to help me and I really appreciated it!
Those pressures seem normal now that you serviced the system, Most systems that cycle the clutch do so when the low side is around 22psi for off time and 35 psi for on time and on systems that cycle the cooling / condenser fans depends on High side pressures, on time is around 250 to 275 psi and off time is around 225 psi If It stops cooling again before adding refrigerant or evacuating the system re-ck the pressures that will give a hint as to what is happening to the system. Good Luck.
Thanks
You're welcome, Did It help you ?
Yessir - much appreciated.
Good video on the relay but what would be the most likely cause for the 15 amp fuse and a replacement fuse to blow ?
Higher current flow than the fuse rating is usually why they blow. Higher current is usually caused by lower resistance in the circuit. Which fuse number is blowing and does It blow as soon as you install It ? Is It # 11 which feeds the PGM-FI sub relay ?
@@mymechanic5211 I meant to say its the "10 amp" fuse not 15 amp. Its the fuse for the compressor. At this moment I'm not sure if it blows right away or when the AC is turned on. I believe its a short but am wondering where its most likely to be shorted.
Fuse # 36 in page 1 is the only 10 amp fuse and It feeds many components, these 2 diagrams only show part of what fuse #36 feeds you will also need power distribution diagrams to see the full circuit. Since It feeds so many components you will have to be very observative on when the fuse blows in order to figure this out, for example does It blow when you turn the A/C on or when the cooling fans turn on or the blower motor is turned on etc..etc.. However, Fuse #20 7.5 amp on page 2 is the one that feeds the compressor if this is the one your talking about the problem is somewhere between the fuse and the compressor ground and most likely there's wiring damage possibly shorted to ground or the clutch electromagnet is physically damaged or shorted to ground. Inspect the wiring for damage and test for short to ground, do a resistance test on the clutch electromagnet windings and make sure they are not physically damaged or shorted to ground. Here were I'm @ we see a lot of wiring damage from rodents once in a while causing shorted wiring but mostly causing open circuits. Rodent droppings on top of the engine or by the battery is the first clue to this type of problem
I liked the video. Always can learn something from diagnostic videos.
Glad you liked it!
