Hi, I’m Stephen, and this is my perspective on the world of African cichlids, reptiles and terrarium builds.
The goal on this channel is to educate those who keep similar or like species. And to raise awareness on proper conditions to be giving your animals.
If I own it or owned it, you’ll be seen a video about it.
If you’re interested in purchasing any of the fish you see my videos, then you can go to my good friends at www.ronscichlids.com and use my brand new check out code PBAQUATICS10
They sell all of the fish you see in my videos, and I have a great strong relationship with this company that I’m very proud of. They’re my go to only source of African cichlids!
Lastly, I do Tankroom tours in my local community, fish shops and reptile shops. If you live in the central Pennsylvania area or inquiring about sponsorship please email

Thank you for your help homie!!!
No problem, cool skinks!
Must be nice to get away from it all for a while like that guy does 😂
Yeah, I know buddy I’m about to come back. This second job has just been taking all my free time. The only time I have to film is around midnight.
That tank looks extremely over stocked? Is it not....? Why did you get so many large fish for a tank thay wouldn't be suitable for all of them??? I can't imagine this being a tank you only use occasionally considering its decorated? I would love an explanation if you could provide one
Yep. It’s an African Cichlid tank, and the number one method to keep an aggression down is to overstock. If you were to look that up. You would see it’s the most common practice. Secondly that is a 125 gallon 6 ft tank. Thanks for the view
🤩😊
Thank you!
A man of action! 😂
She’s warming up for the right moment ha ha
@@Parkbenchaquaticsoh you can definitely tell 🧐

Hi, I like Bubblegum so much. Can you share with me its vendor?
Hi my good friend got that particular snake from a reptile expo in northeast Pennsylvania. But I know that he plans to breed that specific animal and you can inquire about that by going to ATROX_KING92 on instagram for more information. Thanks for the view.🙏🤘
Those guys are so quick!
Haha food motivated

That red fin!! Ive had mine in quarantine for 2 months for Popeye and it's official, he's blind on his left eye. He still swims fine and eats but I can't put him down, he's too beautiful. Gonna try to reintroduce him in the main tank next week.
Thanks for the compliment. I’m sorry to hear about your fishes eye! I just recently lost a fish to eliminate disease, but it affected him a great deal
Beautiful Fish
Thank you!
If I hear this one more time ima paint the neighborhood blue
Thank you side eye dragons. Fast shipping and Great communication. If anybody else would like to purchase from these particular folks, and please visit this website here. www.morphmarket.com/stores/kpeck0112/
Cool 🐠 fish
Hey thank you very much!
good looking fish
Thanks brother🤘
What kind of lizard is it?
Hi, it’s the red eyed crocodile skink from Papua New Guinea
That’s a super cool lizard
Hey thanks! They are my favorite species.
What kind of lizard is it?
@@Viper-ev4cnred eye crocodile skink
I hope you and your little friend is happy. Looks like a nice replacation for a tank
Thank you, I was surprised how much he likes climbing. As soon as the light turns on, he climbs to the highest perch, and stays there most of the night. 🤘
😃. None of my gecko's or frog's will eat hornworms.😍💙
My crocodile skinks won’t eat them or the male won’t at least. I don’t normally grow out the hornworms this big, but this one was left to be ate by a skink, but never ate it so I made a video with my most aggressive eater.
Mine will only eat crickets ,small to medium mealworms and wax worms. Not even earthworms unfortunately...which are free and plentiful.😂😂😕❤️
@@kimely5311 yeah, same here. I also started a colony of Dubia roaches to eventually get free insects. Save me tons of money going to the big stores for crickets already .
Would like to grow my own roaches...but terrified they would get out ....and multiply in my house.🥺😬
@@kimely5311 the ole lady says the same thing. But they do not have extra sticky feet like a fly or something does they can’t climb glass or smooth plastic and I’ve used both. I just transferred them to five dollar large bin from Walmart. They prefer the darkness and eat and drink more often over the tank. But they can’t escape.
Poor worm! That had to have been a painful death!
Better than the gecko starving to death, but that’s just the food chain
Unfortunately, the circle of life is harsh. I do find it harder to feed hornworms than meal worms because of their beautiful color but I don’t waste any creatures life here! Thank you for the comment
Agreed! Thanks for the comment!
Black everyone came healthy bro
Yo thinking about getting piranhas any tips
Yo bro I want to know about piranhas
Hey buddy, long time no talk. Hopefully we get the game soon. As far as the piranhas you want to get something around a 40 gallon breeder with one canister filter and get some long, Amazon sword or other stringy type plant with some rocks in the middle and get yourself 10 to 15 yellow bellies they do better in larger groups in prefer a planted set up to hide.
Ya thinking about getting a red and a black .and h ya bro hope to get gaming again
@@willie-rt5oq yeah I feel you you bro hit me up on ps5 we’ll talk about piranhas, and maybe playing again
Cool watching these guys eat - and on your hand? That’s even cooler 😎
Haha thanks bro. I was surprised myself lol
Is that a yellow blaze or normal z rock? Also I was gonna comment on your video with your kid. My 2 yr old son is the same way with my tank. Start em young!
Hey, so I buy all of my fish from Ron’s for the most part and the fish I bought was listed as a yellow blaze z rock. Otopharynx lithobates (Zimbawe Rock) but the only difference I’ve heard using those names is when you add the German line strain, or the black orange dorsal, which I do have in that tank as well. My favorite fish! Yes, he loves the tanks, he’s starting to appreciate the animals more recently. That’s awesome about you and yours!
@@Parkbenchaquatics bro I did a filter service on my 125 a few days ago and my girlfriend caught my son play with the tank water in a bucket lol. The facial pattern on the yellow is awesome.
@@dennispeleg7843 mine has dropped his Binky in a bucket or two lol. You should look into the black orange dorsal! so it is the yellow blaze z rock but only the darkest blue’s until it gets black. Takes a special type of breeder. I like them because they take a tremendous long time to colorup and once they do, they are solid. the z rock you’re talking about is an absolute jerk, but he still really cool 😎
@@Parkbenchaquatics I'll dig into it. Id rather get the German strain where the yellow stripe is more covered over the head rather than just the dorsal. I like the sulfur head but I think the z rock stands out more
That’s hilarious bro!
Is your solid orange peacock an albino dragon blood?
Hey, so I checked my email because I wasn’t sure and this is what it said.. Dragon Blood Reg - Wuudy Strain “groomed” I believe it was just a regular DB from that special guy I told you about it was 3 1/2 inches for 175 and the groomed I believe, means separated from other fish to avoid imperfections in the fins which is why he’s probably so aggressive now. It was supposed to be a bidded on fish, but I offered $25 more than the official starting bid asking price to just leave it off the shelf and he agreed if I bought another fish so I bought my Taiwan reef hap
@@Parkbenchaquatics wait so this special DB cost 175? 🙀
@@CichlidCharmer yeah it did. It was early on in my experience. It’s only really worth buying the fish if you’re keeping it in a harem or by himself but I put it in a normal tank. With all males made it a waste of money. I think he’s great and he’s one of the most beautiful fish but yeah, too pricey. The gentleman who sold me the fish though did say about Ron’s and that’s actually how I got put on to Ron’s. The gentleman started his breeder website using Ron’s, minus the fish that he had had gotten from Thailand. But this guy’s deal was the he’d like to only sell show fish so every fish had its own 20 gallon tank and stuff like that
I thought of that too, but I was worried they might see too much of each other and duel to the death while I slumbered. I did add a night light though.
Yeah, I didn’t know it at the time in the video but it actually goes dark for about five hours. At midnight it goes dark and then turns red around 6 AM but the blue last for three hours. I think it helps them get settled and then once they’re basically settled it turns the light off.
Love it ❤
Thanks homie 🤘🙏
Love the Fish and the scenery. Do you have any Oscars?. We had to big ones when I was growing they would swallow two goldfish at once. My mom was actually able to stick her hand in the tank and pet them. This was decades ago I was around ten or so I'm 54 now. Love the fish though
That’s a cool story about the Oscar! No, I recently almost adopted a one eye, 14 inch Oscar named Mr. Miyagi from a local fish store but as I got everything prepared to take him home, he was gone when I went to go pick him up. So I currently have no American cichlids.
If you guys have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I will do my best to answer them, even if it’s to set up your own terrarium! If you’re interested in purchasing these exact animals using my exact experience, then please visit www.BIGAPPLEHERP.com

Love the fish and the fish tank. Do you have Clown Fish? I love Clown Fish.
Hey, no clown fish but I do have a clown squeaker Syndontis catfish they get over foot
I love those fish❤
Hey thank you so much! They are beautiful!
fish
Fish indeed friend!
I have a question, why would you put gloves on? There Lizards, the gloves just make it hard to be able to feel them while they are being held. Also just saying but you would jump out of a small container, if you were stuck in for 12 hours too. They are neat though, glad she didn't fall on the floor and get away. I had a bearded Dragon for 12 years before he passed. His name was Buddy, I now have a female named Blossom. I eventually want to get a veiled chameleon. I also like your tank set up as well. What is in the tank next to these guys.
Hi, thanks for the question. It’s because that I have thousands of dollars worth of animals in the reptile room and reptiles even healthy ones can carry salmonella bacteria in their stool samples with rhem and then turn could get anybody else in the room sick so it’s best if having multiple reptiles, especially exotic ones to quarantine a species in a separate room. Because of limited space I quarantine in the same room using different supplies for the first two weeks and gloves. Secondly, I’m a smoker and nicotine is toxic to animals. I clearly wash my hands, and I don’t smoke too often, but it still is remnant on myself. That’s super cool about the bearded dragons. I’ve never owned one but I used to volunteer at a pet store when I was a kid and it was a popular choice. As far as what is next to them now is nothing the 3’ x 3’ x 18” is on its own stand an island while the rest of the room is on the other side . They were temporarily in a 18 x 18 x 18 which the original video and them being introduced to the terrarium was the smaller one if that’s what you’re talking about then on both sides of that was a pair of crocodile skinks and a leopard gecko. They were only in there because that I had to buy them before they weren’t able to get any more because they’re kind of exotic and so I had to make a temporary smaller home but because that I wanted to video the entire thing I ended up using both terrarium’s in the video. I think it’s best in general when handling reptiles to use gloves, even if you only own one. The fragrances on our bodies and hands even if you’ve washed them and disinfected them aren’t necessarily pleasant to reptiles or any wild animal so I try to come with nose spray on minimal deodorant and I wear gloves to try to make them more comfortable with me. But of course I’m not necessarily advocating. Either way everybody is allowed to choose to do with what their animals they see if it’s fit I’m just being extra cautious. This was a new company to me and I’ve been sold sick animals that killed another animal. Crocodile skinks $250 apiece not counting shipping. I ended up losing three. Plus, not counting you have to throw away all of the supplies other than hides that you can boil. Because of contamination . And clean out the tanks thoroughly and let dry. I did a video about the crocodile skinks and what’s going on with them then and what I had to do to save the one male. Anyways, I wanted to be as thorough as possible so I hope you appreciate my long answer and thank you for your very descriptive and articulate question . I hope you have a good day. P.s have you checked into panther chameleons before? The same amount of work to take care of with some really beautiful colors.
@@Parkbenchaquatics thank you for the explanation. I really appreciate it. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
He or she is very cool looking , I have a bearded Dragon. When I release crickets in her cage she is chasing them all over until they are all gone, or they realize what is happening and hide under things, or bury them selves in the sand.
Hi his name is Tony soprano! That’s awesome you have a bearded dragon! Yes, I do believe the crickets do know their fate is coming sometimes. Thanks so much much for the comment!
