Antebellum Greek Revival Georgia Mansion -- video tour (SOLD)
Edit Sep 2017: the house is now sold. Yay!
..........
This video is about a wonderful antebellum house for sale in Macon, GA. The Napier-Small-McMullan home (156 Rogers Avenue) has had but 3 owners in its nearly 170 years. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. Although you can see the pictures online, nothing tells the story like a walk through by family members who purchased the home in 1971 and have loved it since then.
Please join us on a heart felt, albeit a little long, tour (the house is 6,000 square feet, by the way, which takes some time...). You can also see more pictures and link to the MLS listing at www.156RogersAvenue.com.
To make navigation of the video easier, here are time markers:
Start - Front of house
1:00 - Front porch and front hall
2:17 - Living and Dining Room
4:41 - Pantry, Kitchen, Backyard
6:07 - Sunroom, Powder Room
7:26 - First floor master/Mother-in-law suite
8:51 - Upstairs, Bedrooms 2 & 3, Bathroom, balcony
12:10 - Bedrooms 4 & 5, Bathroom, Bonus room
15:30 - Closing
Lastly, a few other notes:
1. We are not professionals. Don't even hope.
2. I say more than once gold plate when I mean gold leaf. Apologies.
3. I also say the main rooms are all 20'x20' but in the official listing, there is some minor variation from this.
4. Yes, there is a lot of blue here... I swear it makes for a nicer neutral than you might think.
Enjoy! And again, please visit www.156RogersAvenue.com for more information and contact details.

Wow❤
This is the house of my dreams. So beautiful ❤❤❤
U have messager ap tj send u a picture of a house similar to yours because i don't know where it came from
The owner was Clark mellenbruck 1937
It is in the corner of veterans rd and businesses 83 in pharr, texas
We would LOVE to see this home restored & furnished to it's original Grandeur! ❤️🙏
I see that there are many resources thst document the history of this property. I am from a generation where the parents of many of my classmates purchased properties during this same era. Some of them spent their entire lives in the same homes and were recently placed into a position where the property had to be put onto the market due to declining health and old age. For me this has been the saddest part as I would prefer to have had one of the children continue on with the legacy. A number of factors including rampant crime along with poor market conditions means that in many cases it takes years to sell the property, there is just no demand.
That is my kind of place! Same era as my Grandma's farmhouse. I would update kitchen, paint, and carpet, and maybe hide a residential elevator somewhere, but the new owners are so lucky.
Absolutely beautiful house I bet it is haunted
Wasn’t that a slave house
Can all the fireplaces still be used?
I wish I was in Dixie hurrah, hurrah, in Dixie land I'll take my stand.
OMG what an amazing property! The home is spectacular, well maintained and still holding all its charm.
You are blessed to have lived in such a beautiful home. It is stunning. IT SHOULD STAY A MARRIAGE HOUSE! Just saying.. Big Christmas tree's..oh my! 8 Fireplaces..YES! Thank you so much for sharing.
The interior is very Victoria's Secret c. 1990 - overdone.
Since this home is Antebellum, was this home built with profits of slavery? Probably had slaves when the original owner lived here then also. Very sad. Would never want to live here myself even though it seems like a lovely home. Couldn't sleep there.
Why wasn’t the room heated with that fireplace? You could see your breath ?
Beautiful home. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for the tour
Glanced at the thumbnail and thought this was the house from Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air lol
This is a beautiful old home with a mix of original features and renovations over the years. It's ready for a bit of restoration and some updating, and it would be interesting to know what path was taken by the new owners.
I’ve always wanted a house with a basement. I’ve never seen one because I live in Florida
So cool I would love this house! So pretty!
Thank you for sharing this, it really is a beautiful dream house!
I was raised in the house on the corner of Rogers n Clayton Ave. Dr. Lemon owns the home now. The staircases in the front n back have no nails they were made using wooden pegs.
Beautiful House
Beautiful!
A beautiful home.
How much did it go for? He should post renovations.
Wow! Gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. 😃😃😃
Sounds like u were house poor. Beautiful exterior but a lot of work to do inside... Possibly gutted
That Home Could be Beautiful !
That is known as a Jack and Jill Bathroom .
This could be a lovely home.
Had all these friends been in a Brothel ? 🤣
God awful gaudy, gaudy gaudy decor Strip the whole place to its original architechture and it does have potential to be restored to a real beauty.
Did Herbert Small (former Mayor) live there?
The Small Family did own it but it was Ralph Small.
Horrid color scheme, has potential, but needs a lot of remodeling.
Is it haunted? 😀
Beautiful! I love old homes like this! How wonderful to grow up there!!
The house sold for $121,300 in 2017. Asking price was $297.432, per Trulia. Why settle for that when it was most definitely such a treasure and well taken care of??
My grandmother was recently widowed. It actually needs a lot of work and it was best to just pass it on to someone who will appreciate it. Money wasn't really a factor.
It sounds like youguys should have kept it in the family. I almost felt connected to the house after this lol
Only two family members live in the area and neither have the resources or time to keep up with renovations
What an amazing place to grow up! You will cherish this video and those memories! Sending love
I have owned big houses like this and the bills are cheaper then my 400 sq ft apartment now. Hahahaha
Love the Ouji comment and get over the 1980's comments, LOL
I Love the kitchen!!
Can I ask what this beautiful home sold for?
❤️❤️❤️❤️it
Always surprising to find such grand rooms and such a small ordinary kitchen
I am afraid that the new owners will change the interior to a modern one!
I would never sell this house.
Very nice but nothing about the heating, AC, plumbing, electrical, insulation, etc. A home like this really needs a lot of land around it.
