Chelsea Wolfe in a Crooked World - Presented by Swoon
Переглядів 52 тис.12 років тому
In 2010, Chelsea Wolfe recorded her first official album, The Grime and the Glow, with an old Tascam 8-track recorder by herself and with various friends in Northern California. The result, a combination of stripped-down instrumentation, layers of vocals, haunting melodies, and tape hiss, is an AM radio broadcast from the end of the world. In her second record, Apokalypsis, released in 2011, sh...
Nite Jewel: Do It Your Way - Presented by Swoon
Переглядів 1,1 тис.12 років тому
Ramona Gonzalez, a.k.a. Nite Jewel, emerged on the indie music scene in 2009 with the lo-fi sounds of her warmly-received first album, Good Evening. Now, a few years and several EPs later, she has released her second long player, One Second of Love. Crisp and vocal-oriented where Good Evening was instrumental and airy, One Second of Love reveals Gonzalez's ambitions not just as a singer-songwri...

Her voice.....damn Ethereal
Kinda just sending a thought into the void w this comment but I feel almost anchored? in a way to her work, and the lens she looks through or perhaps the foci, rather, that she channels her emotions through. It’s so grounding and centering, yet at the same time lifts you off your soles and brings you into the slipstream dimension between dimensions where time stops and thought flourishes at one with heart & body in the most beautiful, undisturbed (peaceful) fashion conceivable
I wonder if Chelsea Wolfe listens to funeral dirge
MOTHER
There are people who are utterly and hopelessly in love with her and I'm one these poor souls.
I love chelsea wolfe I play her music in the hood
I fucking love this woman
she has the most beautiful eyes
I'd love to have a beer and chat with Chelsea about life. She seems so lovely from this video
I think everything in this universe is too small and boring to this woman! Undefinable person!
Is this the BMX biker transexual person that vowed to burn the USA flag at the Olympics?
Yes
no but wouldnt it be cool if there was like a search engine go check before you post lies--This Chelsea is a Female 38 years old from Sacramento Cal--the other is a Trans woman from florida 26 years old--but continue on you ignoramus path it will get you far
No absolutely not
@@sabil1 they kinda look alike
What song is she singing at 5:03?
Halfsleeper 🖤
There really is no musician like her, she’s one of a kind and an indescribable force to be reckoned with
When your eyes literally touch other peoples eyes & vice versa. I think thats what unsettles her. Empath eyes.
yeah, she's an empath. for sure. takes one to know one, lol.
As an empath it’s definitely like that. 🥲
Those intense, deep pale blue eyes <3
I adore Chelsea Wolfe so much. She’s a fantastic artist!
Half sleeper is meant to be about dying in a car accident...new perspective from near fatal car accident survivor here...we rolled a car 6 times at 120ks and I nearly left my foot on the road.. gonna go relisten now
I just discovered Chelsea, amazing artist
She's such a cool human being. What song did she play at the end? It was country with grunge with goth with ambient black metal and that's incredible
Echo!
Bill Hicks <3
The best artist i have discovered since Cannibal Corpse
I always come back to see this <3
Emma e Chelsea
Anhedonia 🎼🖤
Such a fake persuaded voice.
Chelsea Wolfe interviewed by an OTAKU... jejejeje...
i hope she's not actually a fan of Ayn Rand tho..
BillyxRansom she renounced her
BillyxRansom what’s wrong with Ayn Rand?
I learned a lot from rand like if your an architect you should design what you want
@@jackdugan5566 Gee you couldn't of found one of the millions of other thinkers who praise the individual and tell you to follow your own path regardless of what field ?? You say that as if you needed her to prompt you to think for yourself. Sounds kind of ridiculous praising the individual yet needing someone else to tell you to do so ??
Yeah, because every left-winger is too scared of reason, individualism, and free-markets to let anyone think outside their ideology.
She's so goth. <3
My God... What a Beautiful soul, and physiological being.
minut 9 whic is the title of this song thanks all !!! ;)
damn i love her
when will she collaborate with David Lynch
She is shy to the near point of neurosis. She seems to be in every interview.
I think she is neurodivergent. it is very endearing <3 and not just because i am too.
Social anxiety will do that. I can definitely relate. I love that she goes on stage and performs. That takes courage, period, to put yourself out there like that. To do it when you have crippling anxiety, it seems almost insurmountable. She has alot of strength, and obviously loves playing her music enough to overcome her fears. You can definitely see it in her interviews, though. I find it endearing, personally.
That’s what I love about her :) she has a whole world inside her head
@@chromesthesia she doesn’t look at the interviewer when she’s speaking
@@nicole45590 some people are bad with eye contact and this is ok.
I had to stop watching because the interviewer's nose is whistling everytime he breathes and they havent turned down his audio while Chelsea talks >:\
I keep laughing that you decided to share that. I don't hear it, but maybe Chelsea can have him do a nose whistle solo on her next album.
Hehe. Im a TV editor and I listen to camera-men with whistly noses almost every day and they make me very annoyed and I am afraid I have taken it out on this one poor interview dude.
Amber Beaton I'm more than half the way through it, and can't hear it. You must have ears like a bat.
Listen at 1:30 and you will hear it.
Amber Beaton Yeah, I can hear that, but I don't think it is someone's nose. It is a combination of her talking and shuffling around, because she is so neurotically shy. It does sound like a second mic is picking up crackling sounds. But it seems to sync with her body movements. And it is only like 2 seconds. I hope you watched the rest of it.
Chelsea your roots are showin' dye 'em black
+Nicholas Alexander BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK NUMBER OOOOOOONNENENENENEN
The illusion being broken is too much?
Quite the opposite, it's a charming humanising touch, and also a reference to another artist.
Type O Negative
such a dumb comment.
I love you. Really.
f**King insane
Amazing song. Love it.
i can hear the guy filming whistling through his nose.....its fucked
I'm laughing so fucking hard at this oh my fuck. I was thinking the same thing honestly
+Wendolyne Barrios hahah glad its not just me
She looks already dead
She's beautiful.
What does the chicken leg tattoo symbolize?
+Peter Kiraly It's a rune for 'protection' :)
+Peter Kiraly it's not a chicken leg, it's ψ, the 23rd letter of the Greek alphabet. It´s the root of the word psyche (soul), and on this account it is often used as an icon for psychology.
Thank you. I just looked up the Old Hungarian writing and both protection and knowledge symbols are there in the forms of a full and a half chicken leg. Interesting!
Péter Király Ψυχή (pronounced pseche, the p not being silent) is how you'd spell the worl soul in modern Greek, if that's any helpful. I also know the word psyche has some kind of deep meaning related to character for psychology and philosophy. In modern greek we use the word ψυχοσυνθεση (psychosynthesis - the composition of the soul) instead, reffering to psyche.
"Do you ever have any weird dreams?" What a stupid question.
Yeah, who's dreams are ever weird?
it's fetish
Awesome pic
😂😂😂
except if it's honest, it's not a stupid question, just an unassuming sounding one. it usually starts a good conversation.
amazing artist. anyone could suggest any musicians of that sort of mood that this artist creates ?
Raffa Jaffa She connects to many different areas of music, so there are many, but none quite have the mood she does. If you want to go into more *Electronic areas: LA Vampires & Zola Jesus, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Radiohead, Robot Koch, and White Ring are good starting points. *Black Metal: Walknut, Wolves In the Throne Room, and Lunar Aurora are reverb-drenched and can get you in the same headspace as Wolfe. *Others: Snow Ghosts, Matt Elliot, Sunn O))), Russian Circles, Eivør, Agalloch, SubRosa, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Deftones.
Raffa Jaffa check out marriages!
Raffa Jaffa I would suggest Swans, Mark Lanegan, The Black Ryder, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Emma Ruth Rundle
D.H. Withers this is an excellent list
I have always felt a deep connection with her music, which is rare for me. It's strange to hear that she has a lot of the exact same fears & thoughts as I do.. She's amazing.. <3
I just love her... She becomed an amazin influencie. She were in one of the most important moments and saddest of my life, so, I just feel... very deep feelings about her and her music. Now I'm a player, a composer, and a singer. And I'm not tryng to kill myself, I'm trying to save my life and live... more than before everyfucking day.
Her music is too dark and too sad to be goth. Goths are happy funny and ironic (in kinda darker way)
I think that's an important comment. Watch Siouxie or Smith in their prime and they are oddly, on certain tracks, happy. Chelsea reminds more of something like Chopin's nocturnes - eerie and melancholic and total in their seriousness. Each have their own beauty, of course. And I love Chelsea's music.
Doom Folk.
***** I think her music is black metal meet folk also. I listened to some of her metal pieces. Awesome!!
Being a Gothic basically means being a distant member of the Addams Family. 😂
Well, her music have clearly influences of goth music, especially the 5 first albuns, but I classified her like an experimental artist, cuz shes literally experiment diversities genres(folk, noise rock, darkwave, post punk, doom etc).
What a great woman!
She reminds me of Jarboe
i love her
She's a wonderful artist.
What does she say arround 06:27 to 07:00 ? I think she's explaining what the song Tracks is about, but I didn't understand what she said that inspired the lyrics. She says something like "... at the time that I was reading qhgsysjqji by lkjhasfzhj" Reading what?!?!?! PLEASE someone tell me!
It's Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.
She's the girl of my dreams so beautiful, like a dream herself
Pale, Beautiful Face.
