Say goodbye to pressure sores! Checking out Loop+
Pressure sores are no joke, so avoiding them when you're a wheelchair user is a life saver (literally). The new Loop+ pressure mat, measures the pressure under my cushion while I'm rolling along, sitting and slouching in my chair (um, I'm not meant to do that!). This helps with cushion selection and is a good prompt to monitor my posture. Check out my review.

My wheelchair friendly bathroom design: features, build and tour.

Many many hours went into the design and fine tuning of this bathroom. It was designed by an accessibility specialist architect but we also had to make it work for my particular needs. Fine tuning, exact measurements and heights of rails etc. If something is slightly out of reach it makes things very difficult with my limited muscle control. The people from Avail Design were champions. We could...

Botox in my bladder?! // My experience
Переглядів 18 тис.4 роки тому
This is my experience with getting botox in my bladder and how it helps me. The reason why I get botox is because my bladder doesn’t communicate with my brain because of my spinal injury and causes my bladder to spasm. Botox relaxes my bladder muscles and stops it to spasm which helps me stay dry. People get botox injections in their bladder when other bladder relaxant drugs don’t work. The nor...

Shoulder injury prevention exercises
Hello Elisa, I hope all is well and you are doing better 💜🦋
👍👍👍👍
I have a small pressure sore right now and this would have been handy last week 😣
Oh dear! Well I hope it can prevent them happening later on 😄
She is very talented! I love that rain jacket.
Great! I’ll let her know 😊
Do you have a grabber?
Yes, but I don't use it.
@@freewheelingwithelise9421 Oh gotcha. I can't live without mine.
That is a really sweet racing bike. I totally get why it is important to get the Botox in the bladder. I had to have a bladder sling installed for my issues. That’s been pretty good but it is major surgery as well and you’re not allowed to do anything for six weeks.
Ah, that doesn’t some very good! Well I hope it works well for you
It’s so awesome that you’re into wheelchair racing. You’re very articulate by the way.
ThankS! Do you know much about it?
@@freewheelingwithelise9421 no sadly I don’t. It looks like a lot of fun, I miss using a bicycle. I should start watching wheelchair games.
Looks like a great car! I am so excited for you.
He is really a sweet guy! He took great care of the car.
Did too, thanks
That’s a beautiful bathroom
Really informative- Thankyou Elise - will be so helpful to many.
Cool Elise. Great review
Very nice! And very useful! I haven't seen it here in Europe yet! Very useful !!! 🤘🙏🙏🙏💪👍🍀🧡♿♿♿
Yes, well I hope it comes there soon
This is really helpful, thanks Elise
Great review Elise. Thank you
could you make a video about your spasms? I'm curious how they affect you. Have a nice day 😄
Sure, I’m planning to later on. I have lots of different types of spasms… lots and all the time. I hope you liked to video 😄
Thank you for presenting this item. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately seems no availability in Europe :-(
That’s a shame, hopefully Loop+ will make it available soon
Does this device just collect data for one's health provider to make further recommendations regarding skin integrity issues? Or does it do more like give a notification/alarm reminders prompting one to periodically shift positions for pressure relief?
Yay!! So happy your bathroom is done it looks so lovely!! It looks so much more accessible!!
Thanks! What do you think of the tile colour?
Thanks Elise. I have a total crush on your new bathroom, simply beautiful!!! I am just starting to plan an upgrade to mine. A couple of questions if you don't mind. Love the shower seat and how spacious it is. I have the same opportunity as I will get rid of shower+tub too. What width is the shower chair? I want the same set up for guest utility, but am thinking to have a bit wider to give me some scoot distance to keep chair out of shower spray. Love the location for your bar for shaving. I am a T10 complete and it would be useful for that task. How high up is it and width? Also love the toilet assist bar width and location. Great bare minimum utility for us and looks to be a better height than standard stuff. Just want to keep bars to bare essential. Can you tell me the height and width? Thanks!
Wow, thanks… I’m so glad you liked it. The shower chair seat is 480mmX270mm and 410mm high. Shower hand rail is 60cm high and 32cm long and the toilet hand rail is 80cm high by 20cm. But you can get all different sizes, colours and types for whatever suits you best. Feel free to ask, if you have any other questions! 😄 I am a T10 too, but incomplete (only slightly tho) I can wiggle a toe…. Not much help😂
@@freewheelingwithelise9421 Thanks. That is so helpful. I'd take a toe wiggle! Did the plan work from drawings or did you make many changes to the plan after demo and the chance to be in the general space with maybe lines drawn on floor and wall? Yikes bathrooms are not cheap. 😐
I love ur new shower and the sideboard below the sink. It's awesome. So much space and a very friendly colors <3
I love it Congratulations🙌
Hi I have had the Botox done 2 times now and it helps me a lot my bladder was over active way before I had the Botox done i have Cerebral Palsy I get the Botox done every 6 months when it wears off
Hey, hey… I’m glad to hear it helps a lot. Yes, I have to do my botox every 6 months, as it wears off fast. Do you have it under general anaesthetic or local?? This year I’m in the adult hospital system and I have local anaesthetic, but I didn’t like it as much. I could feel the needles and the drs put the camera of what they were doing next to me… and I gotta say, what I saw was not pleasant.
@@freewheelingwithelise9421 I get general anesthesia
Does it hurt?
Because I was under general anaesthetic I couldn’t feel a thing. But the last bladder botox was under the adult hospital department, that was with using a local anaesthetic…. and yes, that did hurt!
It looks so cute and slim. ^^
Thanks!! I’m loving it
I had mine done yesterday and the result was instant. I'm overjoyed and so glad I did it. I had a local anaesthetic and watched on screen as they did it. Painless and fast. Life changing

Don't let anyone put you off having this procedure. It's life changing. Worked from the minute I had it done. No discomfort but I would do it again and again for the results I've had . No pads and no wetting myself. Can hold my bladder for a long time. Better social life as not planning where toilets will be . It's amazing
great video. you explained a lot and can you explain how you use the blinkers thx phil
Great! I’m glad you liked it…. Thanks for the feedback!
Botox in bladder has help me . Thank. God
Great, I’m so glad!
Gracias por transmitir tu experiencia!

I have a electric wheelchair I hate it I want to get a manual chair could you recommend a good one for me to look at
Sure, what country do you live in? I would probably recommend either TiLite or Melrose brand because I have had experience with them and they seem really good chairs. If you can, it is always best if the salesman is in a WC too because they will know exactly what you need. My first chair, the salesman was able bodied and got everything wrong.
@@freewheelingwithelise9421 thanks the US

LOVE IT!!! Mine comes next week! How are you adjusting?
I’m so glad you love it!!! The first two weeks of having the chair was great, but unfortunately my body quickly deteriorated. I have a lot of damaged nerves in my lower back and lowering the back rest caused me 2-3months of severe leg spasms and pain. On the plus side, I have regained slightly more trunk control and I hate going back to my old chair. Thankfully, my body has now adjusted to it successfully and I would love to lower my backrest again, but I’m scared that I will cause more damaged and irritated nerves again. 💕
This is super helpful!
Outstanding ❤️
do your feet spasm when you're transferring from chair to chair ?
Yes, I get lots of clonus which is very annoying, that’s what you can probably see, I also get full body spasms and painful ones where my legs will kick up into dorsi flexion for hrs. I hope you liked the video or found it helpful.
@@freewheelingwithelise9421 I love your videos! If you capture a spasm could we see? It’s very educational for me. Take care.
nice to see you enjoying yourself. you getting stronger as I can see you push your wheelchair without any help on the ramp upward. wondering if you could move around on the grass easily too in this wheelchair.
Thanks! It wasn’t too hard on the grass but I did have a Freewheel with me, which would have made it a lot easier 💪🏼
Was such an amazing time working with you on this jacket Elise! Can't wait to see where it goes with you in life!! Let's do this again soon 😊
Haha, definitely would love to do it again!
You did a fantastic job Abigail!
Such a cute video! Love what you do Elise x
Thank you...you are a Beautiful Young Lady!!
Nice video :) Your hotel room looks pretty tight and accessibility just sounds OK, but not great at all. How did you even manage to get into the bathtub?
The room actually wasn’t that bad, you wouldn’t be able to fit an electric wheelchair in it might be too tight, but I managed fine. I was able to transfer into the edge of the bath tub and then lower myself down. Getting back out was a bit more tricky, I needed Elizabeth’s help with that one.
@@freewheelingwithelise9421 What exactly did you need help with?
Elizabeth was able to support my legs while I lifted myself out. It is hard to carry the dead weight of your legs, especially when lifting yourself out of a tricky space. I hoped you liked the video 😄
@@freewheelingwithelise9421 I definitely did :) Can you do floor transfers on your own?
What is the green chair for I didn’t catch it ?
It’s a basketball Wchair 😁
Mad respect you must have a a lower injury level cuz I’m a high c7 incomplete quadriplegic paralyzed from the chest down so I have to go up it by grabbing the backrest from the front and pull myself up and pivot around that way may I ask what your injury level is? what kind of chair you have is it lightweight ? If I may ask
Yup, I’m an incomplete T10, but in saying that my upper body isn’t 100%. Well, I’m glad you have a good way around transferring that sounds like it works well for you. I have a Melrose wheelchair (NewZealand brand) and another TiLite day char too (USA brand). Melrose chair is 3kg light than the TiLite, but part of that is the Melrose chair is bigger with more stuff on it. ☺️
👍👍👍👍
Great job😇
much respect.
I m an above-the-knee amputee and have been using a TiLite chair for 5 years and have learned to hate it! I am getting a new chair in the next few weeks. It is a Veloce from Motion Industries. It is made from Carbon Fiber and addresses all the issues I had with the TiLitechair. I love your videos.
Thanks! I’m sure that Wchair sounds great for you. Make sure you try and find all things you hate about the TiLite and not have it in the plans for the new one. I always make the chair slightly smaller than you think because your body can adjust to having less which can come in handy sometimes. 😁
👍👍👍
Did you use your older chair for a particular reason?
Wow, I was wondering if someone might pick that up, 10 points for Gryffindor! Yes, so I like to use my older chair for more off-roading activities because of the bigger casters and camber. Plus, I can only fit the Freewheel on that chair, because of a specific type of fitting on the footplate. So I am using my new chair for mostly indoor activities.
@@freewheelingwithelise9421 that makes sense! Plus you’re now able to beat that chair up a bit more so it’s perfect for outdoors. P.S. it’s 10 points to Hufflepuff ;)
Brilliant
Looks like you are really getting the mastery of your new car. 😊🌺💕
