Sandia Nordic Ski Club is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the sport of cross-country skiing in the greater Albuquerqrue NM area. The Club constructs and maintains groomed cross-country ski trails at the top of the Sandia Mountains and provides cross-country ski instruction to the public free of charge. This short video shows Scott and Jeff grooming the Upper Sandia Nordic trails from the top of the Bunny Hill up to the Klaus Trail, then on up to the Ellis parking area. The video was shot on January 13, 2025.

This video shows the 10K meadow east trail after Sandia Nordic volunteers used the mini excavator to widen and level the trail. The work that our volunteers did here will make the trail much safer to groom and much more enjoyable for skiers.

This video shows the condition of the trail that runs along the eastern edge of the lower 10K meadow before Sandia Nordic volunteers widened and leveled the trail. This section of the trail system was particularly challenging to work on as the surface was extremely rocky.

This video shows Scott and Jeff grooming the new Klaus Trail. It was shot on December 3, 2023 and was one of the first times Sandia Nordic was able to groom with our new 2023 Yamaha Grizzly, which we were able to purchase using funds from our 2022 New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division Trails Grant.

This video shows a before and after view of the most challenging section of the Klaus Trail that we completed this year. This section of trail is to the east of the Service Road and roughly 250 yards to the south of the gravel pit. The before video was shot in mid July and the after video was shot in October.
