    You could try hot gluing some led shot as ballast toward the stern, situate it inside the boat around the intake grate. This should fix it mate. If you have Porpoise issues, throw some weight up forward... The weight won't be an issue as Jet Boats get up on the plane differently to keel boats. I could go on and on as I worked on 40 - 68 ft Jet Boats over here in Western Australia for many years allowing us to fish the '' top of the reef '' to get into the deep holes. Have taken some large surf head on and side on over the years and always stashed a spare set of underpants. We normally run 600 - 800 HP Marine Diesel V8's ( Caterpillar or GM - Twin in some boats. ) in these big work boats. Weight distribution is key. Oh and definitely look for a 4 bladed aluminum impeller, brass will do fine too and a high RPM bearing and housing, use plenty of grease. Anyway I wont keep rambling... Thank you for a great series young fella, Keep it up. Subbed. Jimbo - Australia

  • @Top-Jimmy
    @Top-Jimmy 5 місяців тому

    Great build mate! Have you had any issues with the impeller exploding into a hundred pieces?... If anyone knows the specs for a brass prop for this unit I'd appreciate it. Could then go to 4s without any issues. Plastic impellers will explode at very high RPM, cavitation/air being the nemesis.

    You've probably since moved on from this. But for anyone trying to replicate this, what you could do is if the shredder unit still has the automatic switch attached, hook it up to a relay and plug the drill into that and use a zip tie to hold down the trigger so that you can still automatic feed it.

      @@fishinkarts2865 how can i message you? i am wondering about what ignition coil you used, the ballast resistor (is the generator 6v?) and how you did your wiring. Basically I drove mine about 4 miles, had the battery die after sitting overnight. charged it, put it back in and noticed the battery was hot after a bit. i noticed a wire was shorted by the amp meter, and then noticed the ignition coil was hot, half melted and leaking. I replaced the wire and what i believe to be the correct coil, but no spark. I'd like to make sure everything is wired correctly, and replace what's needed.

    • @fishinkarts2865
      @fishinkarts2865 Рік тому

      @@aandrewlangenfeld I'm fine messaging on here if you are. If you are still running a 6v battery then you shouldn't need a ballast resistor at all. My generator didn't work so I went ahead and converted mine to 12V with a mini alternator for charging. I can't quite remember how it was wired originally. Make sure you have voltage at the coil when the key is on. If you do then you either have a bad coil or something is going on with the distributor. If you DON'T, then obviously you need to find out why. You also might be able to google a 6v ford tractor ignition diagram. They should pretty similar Apart from maybe the generator.

    • @fishinkarts2865
