Interesting theory that fear is a lack of love . Fear defined basically is an unpleasant feeling or apprehension to doing something or being somewhere believing injury or death is immanent. So if your hypothesis is true then we can test it in some scenarios by plugging in some values . We can define a state of fear anything below a threshold of emotion, we'll just call it zero so anything below a zero in your general emotion is fear above zero is no fear. So we'll test it in a scenario where there is fear. I am looking at a train coming towards me and I am tied to the track. There's nothing I can do and no amount of loving the train will prevent my demise. So it doesn't work in that scenario. Let's try another one . I am afraid of sharks. I am standing in a shark infested pool with steaks hanging around my neck. No amount of love for the shark or anyone else will stop me from becoming shark food. But, I'm afraid of sharks and I'm sitting in my bathtub. But I'm still afraid of the shark, or in a pool or lake in that scenario, love or what stands for love since we haven't time that either might help prevent fear, but only in a scenario where fear is irrational.
