Suggestions only. I have a 2 1/2" wide binding ruler, with a 45°angle on one end, around 8"long. I just turn the ruler for cutting the next pair, for no waste. That worked great for my french braid quilt. All those half squares you cut off are a useful size too, you could pair them up with print strips to sew easily and cut for beautiful hst's, or flip on the end of your other coloured 45° end strips, or put ×2 on a 3" square, sew both sides and cut, or pair with other triangle off-cuts. Do you stuff pet beds, or pass your scraps on. Even your folded end scraps would be good in piano key or crumbed block strips. Do you ever do leaders and enders? Please don't just discard them as a first option. Bag 'em up and send them to Tiffany's quilting life, or to your local guild, if you can't come at sewing with them yourself. Fabric is expensive. Once you cut solids, if you think you will have trouble finding the right side later, mark the wrong side with dressmakers chalk? All the best.
Those are all good suggestions. The amount of scrap for this pattern is very minimal. For the purposes of this video I did not show saving the triangles but I usually do myself. I do have the binding tool myself! I used this method for those that don’t have that wonderful tool! Thank you for your suggestions! Hope you like my videos!
