Fast medium ????? Try ferociously fast
Collie Smith
Show Franz Alexander, WI captain and wicket keeper.
When you want to put any item, biography, any article please see that there are no spelling mistakes especially in the names of the person concerned in the video.
In full form He was a SUPERMAN ------ Kapildev
You need to improve on your content, video presentations are good but the background narration doesn't synchronize well, and more of stats needs to be mentioned as well
It's Conrad Hunte....not Conrad junta....please get it right....I saw nurse in melbourne ...December 60....I went with my dad..Indies were 2 down for 1 run...then kanhai and nurse added over a 100 before lunch..kanhai a rich strokeplayer...nurse solid and good off his pads
Patterson debut against England????
Patterson my fav pace bowler...
Year: 2001. I saw South Africa vs the West Indies. Venue: Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica. Donald took the wicket of opener Leon Garrick. A spectator said "that bowling too big for him [Garrick]"
Encouraged, and thankful for your heart icon.
If u don't mind think about that why viewers did not comment, like and visit ur channel. However, u make unique videos on neglected but talented and yesteryear cricketers.
One of my favorite fast bowlers of all time.
All WI bowlers r really fast.
aka CRISIS
Pele was football's first Superstar!
Do you realized that you cannot get no comments because what are saying, it is not true at all. Because there was always a better batsman than Viv Richard's, during those days nobody useto batting in helmet ⛑. From the time I saw Gavakar batting in 1971 throughout his entire career, long before Viv Richard's entered the cricket arena. He has never used an helmet throughout his career, so I don't really see all these excitement about. Because there are several wi batsmen who have faced faster bowlers than viv Richard's over the years and, has scored far runs and centuries overall than Viv Richard's and. They are not getting any ratings as Viv Richard's, he is over rated.
Can u imagine John holding a modern bat and facing a friendly manufactured ball today. You would have to seal off the surrounding streets!
Thank you for sharing that thought! It’s fun to imagine how legends like John would handle today’s game.
Collie Smith
Yes one of my favorite like kanhai Gibbs sobers kalicharran and others of my day
Of all those who played in the 1966 final, Sir Goeff Hurst is the lone survivor.
Amazing personality with a lovable charm John James represents the Anglo Indian culture in the game of Cricket which is not in this great game any longer. ❤
He was a legend. The tied test.
Solomon's throws to the wicket were remarkable. And from what I've read, he was assigned the number 7 batting position. On occasion, number 6.
Yes he had great defending technique
...and what history did ne made
You should include some videos of his bowling.
Excellent narration. Joe was indeed a hero.
Chieftain. I'm in total agreement.
A great all-rounder!
He was the rock of the Windies batting. When wickets were falling you could always depend on Joe to steady the side with at least a half century.
He was an average slow bowler in the 50's, a very good(not great) medium/quick bowler in the 60's,an above average bowler in the 70's.Let's not overrate his bowling,he finished with an average of 34.03.The most staggering allrounder ever was WG Grace between 1865 to 1876 when he averaged 55.76 batting when few where averaging above 25 and taking 4.7 wickets a match at an average of 14.72 and talking 1.3 catches a match. Then he put on weight and played way too long and his first class figures went down.
W.G Grace ?????..look,I don't know who you are trying to fool ,but W.G Grace made his TEST debut on the 6th Sept 1880 and retired on June 3rd 1899 and in 22 matches he finished with a BATTING av.of 32.29 with ONLY 2 ,YES TWO CENTURIES and a bowling av.of 26.22 having taken ONLY 9 ,YES,NINE wickets...and you are telling YOURSELF that those stats are the stats of the MOST STAGGERING ALL ROUNDER the WORLD has ever seen? man this IS by far the MOST STAGGERING PIECE OF NONSENSE I HAVE EVER READ...IN MY LIFE.
@@michaelaustin-xx7cu Yes WG Grace will always lose in a test cricket argument. But compare their figures in first class cricket at their peak years as allrounders.WG Grace between 1865 to 1876:198 matches,16453 runs @55.96,56 centuries,927 wickets at 14.52 (he didn't bowl in about 50 matches),263 catches,3 stumpings.Sobers between 1961 to 1970 :200 matches,15250 runs @58.20, 49 centuries,702 wickets @25.61,225 catches. When people call WG Grace a colossus and compare him with Bradman it is largely because of this period. He played test cricket in his declining years and hardly bowled.
@@jlg5967How can you compare an ALL ROUNDER with a BATSMAN? you have to compare a BATSMAN with a BATSMAN and to Compare a BATSMANS' FC experiences with another BATSMAN TEST experiences is NONSENSE and if you don't know, yours is the epitone of someone comparing Apples with Eggs.Look the ONLY ALL ROUNDER that one can compare with Sobers is Kallis, but I would give the edge to Sobers because he used to bowled in 3 styles with success, but their stats are very close.
Brian Lara is the greatest batsman the world have ever seen 277 in Australia for me was the best innings he played
Very nice and insightful commentary. Without going into statistics, what made him special? He was the trend setter for modern batsmanship though no one even in this era has come close to him. His batting was psychological in the sense that he delivered the first blow to the opponent by attacking even the very best bowlers with audacious shots even before he settled in, thus throwing their line and length out of synch. This unnerved even seasoned bowlers and then he would proceed to defend and settle in. He made batting easy for those who followed him. I have never seen anyone else doing that since he retired.
I really appreciate your comment! It’s fascinating to see how Richards not only changed the game for himself but also paved the way for future generations of batsmen. Your perspective adds so much depth to the discussion!
Sobers is all time great cricketer. Salutations to this great legend.
Absolutely, Sobers is a cricketing legend whose skills have left an indelible mark on the game!
Good video.. But where is Patrick Patterson now? Please find out about him.
His best performance in ODIs came in the 1987-88 series against India, not in 1987 World Cup. In that World Cup India and West Indies did not play against each other.
Yes,likewise perhaps his debut may against England..
The Complete CRICKETER. Ever smilling Genius
He averaged more wickets per test than Kallis. Held the world record 365 not out. Bowled in more than one sttyle. An excellent fielder and catcher. Most definitely the grestest all rounder ever.
Simple the BEST better than all the rest. An understatement.
He's the first batting all-rounder with more 250 test wickets, a good in close in position, first batsman to hit six sixes in an over in county cricket, a true gentleman on and off the field, wishing him many more years of happy life.
Actually he got 235 test wickets, but he was the first bowler to have bowl and taken wickets in 3 different styles in test cricket,to have held a world BATTING record of 365 no for over 20 years and is one of less than 10 players to have a batting average of 55+ in test cricket.
I saw him at the Oval in Trinidad many times as a teenager in the fifties and sixties. He was definitely the best cricketer of all time.
Kallicharran, a class act!
Your narration is rich in depth.
Sportsmen must represent one country. They make their choice,so why do they change allegiances and deny opportunities to up and coming players who are loyal to their homeland?
Apartheid in South Africa stopped that from happening. Compatriots Barry Richards and Mike Proctor also had great careers away from home.
You clearly haven’t ever emigrated otherwise you’d know why somebody moved countries
Tragic FRAUD not ‘figure’… he doesn’t get a pass for bring the game into disrepute just because he was a liked figure in SA. There must be reputation consequences to match fixing… His name must be associated with shame to deter others from following in his footsteps.
I am an Indian and I will always love Hansie Cronje.
Do you all remember Daniel's 5 for 35 against India, on tour, in 1983? Brilliant!
That's right, it was the politics that kept him from being selected more often! He wasn't of lesser ability than the other WI fast bowler of the time! He was victimized! .....and here am I, still angry, decades later!
Kepler Wessels was also a good boxer , fine slip fielder as well .
Good information. He is average batter with awkward style
For a little guy he was not bad
