Tutorial for backhand knife throwing.
Here it is 8 years later and your videos are just as valid today. I think I see you ( and Olga ) switching between blade-first and handle-first ( no spin vs half spin? ) from the same distances and with the same grip. Can you elaborate in a future video? Thanks in advance. -Bill W.
Something else I must try👍❣️
I have noticed you have taped your handles in several of your videos and I have to wonder why. I noticed a lot of knife manufacturers put holes in the handle and find this distracting is this why you tape your handles?
@@vernontodd980 that was more than ten years ago. I did it to make it more handle heavy. For my push technic, which I had, this was the best balancing. Today I throw about balanced knives. Not so important, but no strong handle heavy knives as back then.
Danke für deine Videos ! Ich verstehe es langsam wie es funktioniert. Kannst du mir aber eine Frage beantworten? Man sagt ja immer gleich werfen.. wie funktioniert aber der half spin? Wirft man wirklich gleich wie beim no spin?
Vielen Dank
Samoth ( Tom? ) makes the comment that one needs not workout to prepare for a practice session. Agreed however I am over 65 and find it very helpful to employ some basic shoulder PT exercises using resistance bands after a session. Especially when learning these techniques you will engage your body in significantly different ways than required for 1/2 or Full Spin. You will cause muscle and tendon strain(s). As a commercial driver I only practice when home but do exercise with bands daily when on the road. It really helps. I use a long Tubing style band with the “Throw” motion to strengthen and correct posture. This has proven to be very helpful. -Bill
@@billware6721 thank you. I Think I meant you dont have to be strong to throw very fast. What you say is correct. If you throw a lot and do no training you will have problems very easy, but also from wrong technics.
@ I understood completely. I have also read comments on several sites about shoulder pain. Very common when retraining muscle groups. Great Channel. Please keep going👍
Excellent video bud, really appreciate your time and demonstration 😊
@@Richard-y7q thank you.
Powerful accurate backhands. Amazing brother.
@@sarahcole2354 thank you
Sounds like hammer and nail. So much much power while being so smooth. Amazing thanks for sharing.
🫠🤙
Hammer!
Fedin
The whip of truth. Simple, powerful, clear. 💪💯😎
Best in the world Tomtom!
Cool, thanks for sharing
Wow, Lichtgeschwindigkeit 😊
Beautiful!
Man, you make it look so easy!
Do you still compete?
@@sarahcole2354 I never competed.
Working on consistency and technique today 🙏 thank you for your posts brother wouldn't be throwing today without you 💯🗡️🎯🇨🇦♥️
Dein Wurfstil und die Effektivität deiner Messerwürfe sind erstaunlich.💥👍
Danke sehr
🙏🏼
Nice!! As always.
Superb! Inspirational! I am coming along with the sidearm throw,it feels like a slingshot! Thank you Tom Tom
Thank you. Sidearm is fun.
Log cutting poetry thanks boss!
👍
Amazing as always Sir
IS SKANF THE MOST POWERFULL STYLE?
No, baseball pitching style is most powerful. Skanf is powerful, but far not maximum.
Amazing🤙
I have almost got it. Had a breakthrough yesterday. Thanks Tom Tom
Great! I had and still have many breakthrougs. Means there is no end :)
@samothchipmah2407 I know enough to see you are correct my friend. I make knives as well. You are right about using one set of knives and one style. The muscle memory gets confused, making things tough. Now at least I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I agree that the skanf style seems the most powerful with small movements. It feels awesome when a successful throw is made. Thank you Tom Tom
So so good. Thankyou. It’s always entrancing!!!
You are a bad bad man!!! Always a pleasure to watch.
😆 Thank you
This is excellent. It helped my technique a lot. Also, your target set up inside your house is brilliant. I must do that.
Thank you very much.
Power!!!🔥🔥🔥
😎
Beautiful . Im always coming back to watch your videos and always learning from them. 🙏🙏🙏
Hey, thank you very much.
What kind of throwing knives are you using?
Different in this video. For halfspin I think mostly my classic arrow, for no spin more balanced knives. All my selfmade ones.
@samothchipmah2407 Ok. Thank you
Thanks. This is great information.
I dressed up as you for Halloween! I was no-spinning full size candy bars at kids from 15 meters!
Lol 👍
amazing throwing 🦾🔥🔥
Thank you
That instinctive half spin into the backhand is masterful very nice
Thank you, they are very easy to do.
@ I’m working on it not to hard
@@lexxboom I have a tutorial on the channel. Two years ago or so
Amazing, you seem to improve every time, when I think it can't be improved. Thanks TomTom
Thank you very much. This kind of throwing I actually can do since years. I only practice no spin. This here is just for entertainment 🙂
Wunderbar!
Danke sehr
🤩😍💪😎
Nonchalant bonus at the end typical Boss moves!
Thank you, yes always the same lol
Greetings from Poland :)
Thx, greetings from Bavaria.
A master. That backhand half-spin inspires me. It's a true pleasure and honor to see you throw.
Thank you. The backhands a rarely done and impress the people, but are actually super simple. I never had to practice them.
He is one of the best in the world
Thank you, I appreciate that, but there are so crazy throwers meanwhile.
@@samothchipmah2407 It's not all about the throwing @TomTom, your masterful skills at Tutoring the art of throwing make you the 'go to' for God Level insight. I've harvested insight into making my own throwing knives from your works too, let's not overlook the significance of your input into knife design and development eh ? Agreed, there are throwers you'd get a good bit of competition with, but YOU, along with Fedin, are where every keen thrower ends up viewing, regardless what else they do. Greetings from Scotland.
@@PirateCommander Thank you for your comment :)
tom what do you say is instinctive halfspin superior to military halfspin?
Yes, absolutely. When you learn this whip style how I use then you can throw from any stance with small motions, but still very fast. You are really free. Rotation can be also better controled. So military has imo not a single aspect which I cannot do with index grip.
@ Makes sense thank you. Military is easier to learn I feel though 🤣
@@atune2682 Perhaps, but it is a limited technic. Knife throwing is just not easy and takes a lot time to learn.
Great throwing 👏🏻
Love
oeff such a good clear lesson again, thank you sir!
20 mins in, man. This is so good, thanks so much.
You are welcome
