Super great guy!!! I have one of his rifles
Dang, i aint never seen pillars like that before
I have learnt more from you in 2 videos , than i have with all the other 50 i have watched. Love the detail and you explain how and why. Keep up great work
What about part 3 and 4?
Mr Gradous died before he could make parts 3 and 4.
@@dannyb8955 I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you for your reply.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
There’s two schools of thought about whether you bed the entire action or just do it at two points. My personal opinion is that two point bedding is more stable and if the stock does develop a twist or a bend there will be less or no torsional stress applied to the action. Perhaps with a high quality, high dollar fiberglass stock it doesn’t matter? I only have walnut stocks so I think, for my application, the two point bedding is what makes sense. I think a cheaper plastic stock would certainly qualify for a two point bedding.
I would think there is a flaw in your thinking.. if a stock starts to twist, it's gonna twist from that point and everything after it.. I would think by bedding the entire action you are making that entire area stronger and less likely to twist.. JMO
Anyone who owns a Gradous rifle or seen how one shots, you’d see the answer.
No tape needed. Sno Seal as a release agent.
best how to yet on bedding. Nice close up photography!!! We can see on our iPhone/iPads
Relevant quick comeback.
My bedding is incorrect
Wow. The knowledge being shared here is amazing.
90 mph mistakes are the most frustrating.
Man, my new favorite, generous Gunsmith. Gone too soon. My best to his family. I'm sure he knew the value of his time.
Thank you sir.for being a great mentor thank you sir for your time God bless
Love watching real craftsmanship. Thanks.
All of Roberts videos are the most comprehensive exhibitions of this subject.
He was definitely one of the best! People all over the country knew Robert.
Dang never seen a bedding video where the smith turns it upside down without the screws in. That's insane precision on a bed job. Nice work.
i wonder how many flipped their rifle over and their barreled action fell out? great video though that bedding is prestine and now i know i needed to polish the wax off. Thank you sir
seen a lot of bedding Videos, But your is the best i seen so far, Wish I was close buy, but up here in NB Canada got a rifle i like you to do.
One of the greatest gunsmiths there ever was.
He built my rifle, went to his place and did load development when i picked it up. Ill never sell it. laser
your camera man sounds like Darth Vader breathin, LOL
This channel needs a better camera man. Back focus all over the place
RIP Bob, great to see the magic again!
fantastic video is there a part 3 and part 4?
No, he's dead.
Did I miss the part about setting the barrel into the stock after applying the bedding compound?
Now finaly some good information
Rest in peace, Robert
Thanks for sharing this. Love to see all your videos.
Robert died yesterday. Very sad. Rest peace, Mr. Gradous
Robert is the best in the business... hands down!
That looks like a really nice shop. Too bad there aren't more helpful videos from Gradois Rifles.
You forgot to clean out your bore guide. You did good to show cleaning the rod often, but you should use a spray blast solvent to clean the bore guide out. It picks up everything you run down through it.
that is a possum hollow bore guide. the outfit you mentioned sells them. they do not make them. they are an ok guide. if you want a GREAT bore guide that is custom made for specific actions and the diameter of your cleaning rod, look up lucas bore guides. that's all I own or will ever own. a little pricey, but not as expensive as ruining a barrel.
Mr. Gradous, I hear more and more good things about you and your program each day. I know Frank Galli did a good vid on a rifle he built at your shop. Ever think about a few other videos on your thoughts, methods, or techniques in building, care, and mantenance of precision rifles?
