Marine rewilding operations
Переглядів 15021 годину тому
A hectare of seagrass will trap carbon up to 35% quicker than a hectare of rainforest. David Smyth, our marine rewilding lead, explores how this habitat supports a high level of biodiversity, acts as a coastal buffer for storms, and can sequester carbon quickly. At Tayvallich our science team is exploring, mapping and baselining key intertidal and marine habitats, including salt marsh, seagrass...

Working from the ground up: cows as ecosystem engineers. Estate Manager and regenerative agriculture expert James Yoxall explains the many benefits cows bring to Beldorney rewilding estate, implementing the principles we have learned from natural processes and bringing them onto farms and estates. #regenerativeagriculture #pastureforlife #regenerativefarming #rewilidng #cows
Peatland restoration
Переглядів 62421 день тому
Chopping down trees to restore our bogs. Highlands Rewilding co-chief scientist Calum Brown describes how peatland restoration makes a major contribution to trapping CO2 and boosting biodiversity. Peatlands globally, contain around a third of the soil carbon on the planet, in about 3% of the area. They're hugely significant carbon stores and we have a disproportionate amount of that in the UK. ...

Any Scot’s employed!?
Any Americans educated!?
Gorgeous.
Love this <3
Beautifully inspiring landscape ecology❤️🌍
Nice video thanks
Great production! Well-scripted & narrated, lovely, non-intrusive music. Thank you so much!
What song did you use here please?
It’s a stem from copyright music by Cody Martin called The Luck of the Irish.
How will it make a profit?! The last place I’d put my money is here.
👍🌍🐎
Brilliant. Well done. 😊
Absolutely. Sheep farmed on a industrial scale since Highland clearances. Scotland a ecological desert contrary to the picture postcard look. It's an illusion, a myth. Our mountains should not be bare
The vast majority of second homes/holiday homes in Tayvallich are Scottish owned not by 'Rich English'.
The world needs people like Jeremy. That’s why I have invested. His thoughtfulness and clarity is welcome. I hope the newsletters produced by staff are improved, not least with plain English, to help persuade more to join. But we need to beware of getting into bed with major financial institutions. They have already diluted the stake of us small investors. The big players eventually take over and do it their way.
Really inspiring, Jeremy, this must be a success for everyon'es sake.
A wonderful interview. As a shareholder in Highland Rewilding it really does re-assure me that my investment is well worth it. Thank you Jeremy.
They’re all over Newfoundland as well… awesome content 👍🏼 cheers.
This planet has evolved a dynamic range of essential biomes over millions of years long before the development of modern civilisation,,,, the best thing to do is where possible leave well enough alone and observe as most will assume they're supporting the wall enough to stop it from falling by leaning on it, Where as the reality is that the ego that doesn't want to accept that the opposite is true......REAL TALK
Super Sache!!! Respekt vor euren Mut und eurer Weitsicht!!!
Excellent keep up the good work
New colonialists
Wow! Fascinating I had no idea that all these species lived around Scotland. Keep posting this brilliant footage
Beautiful sounds of spring, new life, new beginnings 🌱🌳
It will be very interesting to see the results 🤔 My prediction is that the mycorrhizal fungi will migrate very quickly to the next plot if they are only 30m apart and therefore you won't get a meaningful result. Having said this, the Milk Kefir I inoculated my soil with had a very localised effect ua-cam.com/video/8Bi_wzj14nA/v-deo.html Thanks for sharing, looking forward to your findings, good luck 🍀meantime
Dr Jeremy Leggett is an INTERNATIONAL HERO!
Public transportation: trains, bicycle paths, trams, walkable suburbs and cities, and ripping up evil stroads and massive parking lots, and OUTLAWING all SUVs and oversized vehicles, are the solution to traffic. NOT techno-BS like robocars.
That’s a beautiful part of country you’re preserving and enhancing there forever and ever 💜
So awesome!!! And so inspiring to see you dedicating yourselves to this project! This is the future and we need more of it!!🌍✊🌿💚 Heja, heja from Sweden!!👏✨
Bravo Jeremy - another beacon of hope is lit!
Top man👌
Wow. Just.... look at 'em go. Truly majestic *chefs kiss*
I live in Canada and I'm doing family historical research in the Tayvallich area. How can I get in touch with Rowan at another person from this area to help with my research. I'm planning a visit in 2025.
Hi @norcobf, we'll make some enquiries for you 👍
Is simply GOD'S NATURE .
Like- yuo created professional ~talk to you soon!
Another adventure Sir Jeremy. As always you are inspiring a whole generation of people. I started at Solarcentury 16 years ago as a very sceptical employee and after the first year, regularly debating friends and for about the climate emergency and the importance of Solar in the energy mix. I thing I can say is that Jeremy has the courage of his convictions and is not one that shys from standing alone. This looks like SC 3.0 and I would love to be involved. Thanks for your advice and support over the years Jeremy. Looking forward to reconnecting in the future. Rexford Abbey
What about rewilding humans?
It'll happen naturally, soon enough
I have a good feeling about this. Thanks Highland Rewilding. I imagine LIDAR and AI have a major role to play in your carbon accounting, look forward to seeing how you do it.
Keep up the good work folks 👍
So important.
I look forward to the next chapters
That's the only Queen I might bow to, under her small wings she holds the earth.
What an amazing project, will have to invest just for the nature part of it, I'm doing nature convergence as a subject for my college project and I'm loving it meeting so many interesting minds and such! keep up the good work guys and thank you for helping Scotland
Don't forget about chemtrails when discussing the "climate emergency"
