On Classic FM [UK] I heard this music for the first time -26 August 2022. A lovely composition, supported by superb background photographs.
Néhány éve találtam meg ezt a csodás népdalcsokrot, azóta rendszeresen hallgatom, hatalmas kedvenc. Az én szememben ez az igazi nagybetűs ÉRTÉK.
Something I noticed, it's 'great Dagon rules... great Dagon is...' with no completion. But it is 'Jehovah rules the world... Jehovah is of gods the first and last'. Probably makes no sense but there, Handel ascribing glory and honour to Jehovah in this 'comparison' song between He and Dagon is just sublime.
Jehovah rules the world in state... His thunder roars, heav'n shakes and earth's aghast... Jehovah is of gods the first and last... Handel truly inspired to quench the thirst we had no idea we had. The LORD shall continue to reign forever and ever!
What a genius Handel was his music will live on into eternity.
I doubt if ANY music will live that long.
