    Hey Martin Thanks for excellent sharing. I wanna ask you something : Can a neuron's generated action potential be restructured which got used to respond to a certain current? or Can a neuron's generated action potential be restructured for different currents?

      Hello Mikhaela, Where are you taking a course where they are using my textbook? I am sorry that you are struggling. An introduction to neuroscience can be difficult. I have 30-40 minute screen-capture lectures that cover a lot of the material from each chapter on my youtube channel. Is there something that is particularly difficult for you or a topic. I might already have a video.

    What is a good definition of arousal? Is the activation of energy synapse firing (of electro-chemical potentials) or excitation and inhinbition? And can it apply to both visceral (peripheral nervous) as well as brainstem (central nervous)?

    Hi. I am a first year psychology student and am really interested in Biopsychology. Where can I find a job that will expose me to the field as I pursue my degree?

    • @Jen99576

      Hi! Psychology PhD student here. I encourage you to get involved in undergraduate research in a psychology lab at your school. Look online at faculty in your department and reach out to those who have research that is of interest to you. More than likely they will be happy to allow you to work as a research assistant in their lab throughout your undergraduate career. This will be a great way to explore your interests and prepare for future work in the field :)

    Addiction Is a myth created by the government and the government and the pharmaceutical industry. If you look around %100 of the world population has some type of addiction. Sex,drugs ,money, rock and roll , food ,power, narcissistic vampirism, the list fucking endless . Where is the war cry against obesity and the health problems associated with an all you can eat buffet? Compared to the drug problem In the world gluttony has claimed 10 x the victims of early death and chronic disease

    I’m thinking about getting my masters in bio psychology but I’m not sure what the job outlook is…

    • @martinsshapiro8514
      @martinsshapiro8514 2 роки тому

      There are a few paths of master's degrees in biopsychology and experimental psychology. First, many who get their master's degree are thinking about going on to a Ph.D. in experimental psychology or neuroscience with hopes of getting a job as a professor at a college. Second, people who get master's degrees in experimental psychology tend to get a lot of experience collecting and evaluating data. Many of our master's students go on to get jobs in data analysis working for a nonprofit, school system, or a for-profit business. Third, there are applied programs in neuroscience such as rehabilitation counseling working with people who have had strokes or brain injury. With a master's degree, you are able to get jobs as lecturers and four-year colleges and tenure-track positions at community colleges (though these positions often go to people with Ph.D.s). I hope that helped.

    On the facial picture I didnt feel either were happy or sad. They felt sad to me. But when you mentioned what the experiment was I went back and thought the top one(first one) was happy. Probably biased. Not sure what that would mean.

      There is often a great deal of variability in these kinds of perception tests, so I would imagine that you are not the only one that does not see a difference, or felt the same emotion from both. There is also a lot of variability in lateralization. Your emotional perception might be more equally distributed than others.

    Would the undergrad neuroscience courses be considered the "next level" of the biopsychology course at Fresno State?

    • @martinsshapiro8514
      @martinsshapiro8514 3 роки тому

      It really depends on the University. In a psychology department, the next level courses after biopsychology are called psychophysiology, cognitive neuroscience or more specific topics like behavioral endocrinology or clinical neuroscience. In a biology department, it might be a course on neuroanatomy or neurophysiology or just a course called neuroscience.

    I need help! I’ve lost the ability to sense and tell when I’m hungry thirsty sleepy or tired! I also have loss of libido, low hormones, low testosterone! Doctors can’t help me find out what’s wrong or why! I had been on multiple psych meds my previous doc tried to counter ativan withdrawal and led me down a terrible spiral! I suffered what was like a ischemic stroke/aneurism that showed up in a mra. My sense of thirst hunger sleep is all gone! It’s not a psychiatric problem I’ve seen multiple and they say it could be from effexor remeron that I took. Please I need help!

      Hello, I am sorry to hear about your troubles. I'm afraid that I am not a physician just and educator. This video was created for my student in an introductory course in neuroscience. You need to see a physician and maybe an endocrinologist. I hope you get better soon.
