Why is ASU not equipped with HEXAFLUORINE solution? I know many big companies around the world that uses this solution in case of an HF splash. There is packaging adapted for the skin, eye and mucous membrane. Within the semiconductor industry there is a lot of HF and this solution has been able to save lives.

Man, I just read an autopsy report on someone who died due to hf splashing onto the front of his neck. You should probably consider giving you students a full hood instead of those face shields

Yes even 3% HF found in anti-rust solutions on amazon is too scary for me. MSDS says it 1-3.5% but that is enough to seriously harm or kill you especially since you will not notice anything for hours. (Too little too late). My rule unless you are working in a professional lab stay away from any HF or NaHF materials! Not worth a very slow and painful death i say.

My dad worked for a company called Gould Foil... Ironically they made copper foil... There was an accident that caused a solution of HF get all over his lower legs and into his boots. He had serioous health propblems and very unusual problems with his feet for the rest of his life... He survived for 18years or so after that. But had to go on disability soon after the accident. The state fought his claim making him go bankrupt before he won on appeal 5years later. This stuff aint no joke. Dad externally didnt have much visible injury. Irritated and peely skin for a week. Looked like a sunburn without any tan. But that stuff doesnt play fair

Concentrated HF is extremely scary and is life threatening with a surprisingly small area of exposure. The diluted 0.5 to 3 percent etch solutions are not as bad but are insidious since you don't notice anything other than wet for an hour or more.😮
