I have a G37 of the DF series that has a pick-up under the bridge with the plug in the strap grommet. Did they ever come from the factory with an electronic pickups ?

Bonjour,je recherche le nom du modèle de GUILD sur lequel joueais le chanteur canadien Félix LECLERC dans les années 70.Elle était toute rouge.Merci.
@@staline5171 good morning (bonjour). He played a Guild Mark I classical guitar it looks like from some of his pictures. You can purchase a Mark I off of eBay or Reverb from time to time……they run from $400-$800 USD. Take care and thank you 😊

@@青木健祐-r7h hi
Good luck? How much$?
Beautiful! Love Guild acoustic guitars!
I found a Mark VII but the price seems a bit high $6500. What do you think?
@@jec581 Hi there……I am working on a Guild Mark VII power point to upload to my channel as we speak. A historical research project. I own two MKVII’s. There are very rare. I believe they are under valued but I think $6500 is a bit high. Old listings show between $2500 and $3000. Would you know the serial number? I am tracking the serial numbers for my presentation. I purchased one MK VII for $3000 and the other for $3600…..they are both wonderful. Keep in touch and I hope you get one too. From what I have studied, Guild only produced 10 and they are similar to a Ramirez 1A. The scale length should be 26 1/4”. If you can you send me the serial number for my records and maybe a picture? My cell is 717-682-2661 if you want more information. Thank you.
@@jec581 hi did you get the MKVII ? Do you have a serial number or some pics for my research ? Thank you in advance…..
Hi just checking if you have any info on the MKVII ? Did you decide to purchase it ?
Thanks for the response. I think the same ..they are probably undervalued. But that is the market. i think I will be insulting the seller to offer $3000. Which I did suggest. I know sellers believe it is worth more. But I am not a collector ,I will be playing it. So the price needs to be realistic. I have a Tomas Holt which cost $7000. So So it's hard to justify $6500 on the Greco. That being said I will check the serial number when I talk to him again. I will show him the Reverb ? listing you no doubt saw. I will post it back on here for you. Thanks again!
@@jec581 thank you so much I will send you a draft of my presentation on the Mark VII’s and if you could get me a picture and the serial number that would be very helpful. Keep in touch…
Late to the show, but could you tell me what thus sold for. I have one and there's very little info online. Cheers Trevor
@@trevorbest-gn2dq hi I wish I had my records but lost the excel file a few years ago. I think I sold it for $500…..no more than that.
A good friend of mine had a Mark one that had a few cracks and a chipped nut. I repaired those for her, and ended up buying it from her. But you were right the first time, it is truly precious!
My Alhambra 5Pa has no A on the head what does that say?
Hi that is just the era I believe….they did not always have a “A” on the top of the headstock.
According to my serial #, I have a 1972 G37. Except for the strings, all original including the Tuners, Frets and Tortoise Pickguard. Did some have strap buttons and some did not ? I feel it would it be wrong to add 1. but it would be nice after 52 years to play it while standing up.
Go for it
I don’t know if they all had buttons or not
@@williamh.bernhart4085 @williamh.bernhart4085 thank you. gotta love the G37's tone :)
I have a Mark I that I thought was from 1956, now I'm not so sure. Its # CA3190, with a Hoboken label. Thanks for posting this, my Mark I is my favorite classical guitar.
No that’s the correct history they did not make any classicals before 1961…..what’s your serial number?
@@williamh.bernhart4085 It's CA3199
I have a 1956 Mark I in really good shape, it's my favorite classical. Mine has rounded edges which I like and was also made in NJ. Here's a link to a video of me playing it: studio.ua-cam.com/users/videoqYVxA1PDfyU/edit

@@williamh.bernhart4085 After watching a few more Guild videos I found out my Mark I is from the early 60's. They started making the Mark series in 1961. Thanks for posting your video, it was really informative.
You play real good.i really like guild classicals.ive got several mark guild classical s but the mark v has never come my way I prefer the mark iv most of all cause it is louder and lighter .thanks for sharing your playing and collection.
Thank you 🙏🏻 I have a Mark VII I am thinking to sell…..I love the old Guilds.
Thank you, Looking at buying a Mark 2 tomorrow and then learning how to play. I think I made the right choice with the Guild.
Yes congratulations
Hi do you want to talk about the guitars ?
I’d love to hear it played in tune!
It’s sold over a year !

My MkIII just doesn't look as nice LOL Great to see 2 of these VII's together at once.
@@getafterwhatyoulove hi could you tell me your serial number or have any pics ? I am doing a presentation on the Guild MKVII for my channel.
@williamh.bernhart4085 I don't have a VII, I have a III. It is sn# 20785, which you did a video on a year or two ago. Sorry for the confusion.
Hi William, Thanks for all the great videos. I'm also a guild fan, especially the Starfire 3 I play. Question. I am looking to get a nylon/classical guitar $500 to $1000 i'm thinking. I was thinking of a guild but also a gibson c-1 fits in there. You think in general the Guilds have the edge over the C-1? I once had a Guild Mark 4, I should not have sold. I hope the system notifies you have my comment.
Hi thank you for the note and I love the Guilds…..you can’t for wrong with any model……I have played and owned several Gibsons…..a master series C-300, C-400, and a rare C-500. I also owned a C-4 for a little……I still believe the Guilds are better again any model you can’t go wrong…..I still own and play three but have owned all of the models over the years even the Mark VII…..best wishes

I would be willing to bet money that is not the original neck.
Nope all original…..it was a nice guitar. I sold it.
I’ve got one that’s dated 1963 serial 62243. They’re almost more a flamenco with the narrower body. A bit light in the bass, but makes up for it everywhere else. Beautiful maple. I’m surprised they only made 29 of them in total.
Thank you for sharing!
Hey Will! Did you sell the Guild?
Hi Craig……thank you for the note. Yes I did sell that wonderful old Mark V a few months back. I do have a 63 Guild Mark I for sale on eBay right now. See my Guild Classical Guitar presentation on my UA-cam channel…..keep in touch. Thank you.

Bill, I can hear a distinct difference - the VII has a better intonation to my hears. If I was you I wouldn't ever let that Mark VII go.

Good video! Which serial number has your 1961 Guild?
Hi……thank you I love the old Guilds….the 61 Indian rosewood is the first year of classical guitar production and it’s serial number is 17644…….the 68 Brazilian Rosewood is for sale if you are interested…..it’s serial number is CF-133……both wonderful guitars…..
Is this avalible? How much is it if it is? Thanks much.
Hello is your Guild D40 still for sale.? I have a guild Mark IV but it all Mahogany. Are you familiar with it?
Hey hi there…….check out my UA-cam video on guild classical guitar presentation in PowerPoint under my name. As far as the d-40 I sold it….your mark IV is either flamed pearwood, African Paduak, flamed maple, or indian Rosewood or Brazilian rosewood. They did not make the IV in mahogany. I have a mark VI in Brazilian Rosewood for sale.

Just bought this from you on eBay and looking forward to playing it and having it join my other Guilds.
Hey hi there thank you 🙏🏻 I will be sure to pack and ship soon. What other Guild’s do you play? I love the old Guilds too!
@@williamh.bernhart4085 Let’s see…rarest is a ‘70 F50R Special (Brazilian) which is an Artist Award neck on a F50. Carlo made maybe 10 of them, 4 were made for the Grateful Dead as a gift from the Festival Express promoter, one was made for John Denver and the others we just don’t know. There’s a 66 Mark II cedar/mahogany that has great tone. A new condition 97 Starfire III signed by Duane Eddy from the estate of a promoter I knew. Lastly a 95 DV52 for stage use when conditions are tough.
I used to have a Guild like that from 1977 but my house flooded and the neck cracked in half from the excess humidity inside the house while I was at the shelter. I miss that guitar.
Awesome I have a Guild Mark V Brazilian Rosewood classical guitar for sale right now on EBay for $975
I have this guitar now :D The markings on the soundboard and the scratches on the back all match up to mine. Cool seeing it making its rounds.

@@williamh.bernhart4085 I have wanted a Westerly made one since my Dad's western style from there bit the dust years ago. Your 66 would be one I am interested in if it is a classical. Message me the price, please. Taking my 1962 Mark III to my local luthier for a clean split on the soundboard from the bridge to the end of the guitar. Not sure it is affecting the guitar, but it is staying in tune and I hear no strange harmonics or sound distribution. It is worth paying to at least have it evaluated.

Greetings William! I picked up one of one of these instruments from the local guitar shop, after having owned a Giannini Craviola twelve string since the early eighties, and have enjoyed it for many years. It is a wonderful classical guitar and I had a set of Grover classical machines installed on the headstock. It plays and sounds wonderfully, and is my favourite classical guitar in my collection. Thank you for posting this video! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🎸
