Last Step in My Paste Roses Step 5
Переглядів 802 місяці тому
I hope you like these roses as much as I do. I think that using the paste bulked up the roses so that the fit the huge canvas I was painting on. I am used to much smaller canvases. I had technical difficulties so I hope t his plays for you. Let me know what you think in the comments and thank you so much for watching.

I loved, loved, loved doing today's painting. Something about using paste and palette knives is so much fun. I've got to do this more often. I hope you are still with me. I think the paste roses really worked out.

Large 24 x 36 Painting done in a Week
Переглядів 792 місяці тому
I'm taking all week to paint this 24 x 36 painting. I don't usually paint so large but the canvas was free and it seemed like a good opportunity to experiment. I hope you'll join me each day as I work my way through this painting of roses in a glass vase.
Peonies or maybe Roses?
Переглядів 683 місяці тому
Not certain what I painted - calling it Peonies but could be Roses - You tell me. I hope you get something from this video - I enjoyed messing around in paint but am not convinced that I painted Peonies.

Have you done white roses on glass?
No I have not. Sounds difficult to me.
@@CarolAnnsArt I need to for a wedding and am freaking out. Lol
Music to loud and for me a bad choice .. Couldn’t watch to the end which is a shame cos l was enjoying it but the music was driving me crazy. Bill .
Hi thanks for the comment - sorry about the music - not a good choice I guess. I have stopped using music on some of my videos - so hope you will enjoy a more recent one. Best, CarolAnn.
I loved it and i like your paintings too❤
Thank you. So kind of you.
I love your studio, no wonder you produce so many lovely paintings. Every studio needs a cat. Cats remind us to relax. You should paint that cozy chair maybe while a cat or two have claimed it while you were busy. I'm sorry the Patreon idea didn't work out but I'm happy about the books. I know they'll be great.
Thank you! 😊 my cats are my comfort people.
Gorgeous 💖💖💖💖💖
Thank you! 😊So kind of you.
Absolutely stunning ! 💖🙏🏻

You are so kind.l would love it if you joined. I hope you are enjoying the rose painting. Thank you so much.
I love the rose painting so much. I admire it every day and still can't believe how lucky I was to find you and to be able to have something you created come right out of the TV screen into my home.
So glad to know that.
My comment disappeared. Let's try again. I would be so happy to support your talent. Benefits aren't even an issue but I know they're important to some people and might be fun for you to plan.
PS: I did plan some awesome benefits that I hope people will like - and it was fun to do. Thanks for your comment - I think this might be your lost comment.
I love your technique! I may have to try this.
Do paint along with me - Coming out with a book soon. Thanks for commenting. Best wishes, CarolAnn
Oh wow! How gorgeous! You went big and I love it!

wonderful music during your lesson. Great video. Very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
So kind of you to comment. Glad you got something from it. Best wishes, CarolAnn
This was such an interesting process to watch, I hope there will be more multi-session paintings. The final painting is lovely!
Thank you for your kind comment. I have to say I enjoyed painting on such a large project. I have two more large canvases and plan a Hydrangea and possibly a landscape.
magnifique fleurs j'aime beaucoup ,Bravo ❤
Merci. c'est très gentil de votre part de commenter.
So beautiful 💖💖💖💖
Thank you for your very kind comment. Much appreciated.
Thanks for this very helpful tutorial!
I'm glad you got something from it and thank you very much for commenting. Best wishes, CarolAnn.
What a great idea and thanks for taking us along. I'm looking forward to each step.
Thanks for your comment and interest. A large canvas can't be completed in a day - well, I cant do it. So gave myself a week - always optimistic.
Please lower the music Can't understand.you.
Thank you for your comment. I have recently stopped using music as it is too difficult to manage correctly. Please see my latest videos. Thanks again. CarolAnn.
Very pretty . ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Very pretty. I also love seeing how you do those pretty backgrounds
Thanks so much 😊It's very kind of you to comment. I think I have done a video on backgrounds - long ago. Best, CarolAnn.
I think the flowers are charming and the blackberries are really well done. I even like the background, it makes the flowers and the berries pop in the final photo and gives the entire painting a slightly oriental flavor. Very nice!
Ooh - I love oriental! I do think the berries are fine but the roses could be better I believe - Thank you for your lovely comment. I do appreciate your taking the time. Thanks, CarolAnn.
Lovely video. Perhaps a few soft classical pieces as background to address the other comments. Your voice is beautiful enough and the tutorial is excellent!! I can't wait to attempt your technique of painting my favorite flower.
So kind of you to comment. Thank you very much and good luck with your painting.
I've had technical difficulties all week! I think it's just that time of year. These drawings are whimsical, wonderful and wise. Those sunflowers look like they have something to say!
Thank you. I loved most of that comment until you got to the sunflowers - they are meant to be Gerber Daisies. Oh well it is what it is.
@@CarolAnnsArt That's probably exactly what they were trying to say!
At 0:43 the image is stunning! The background changed to a silvery green color and the petals were a soft lilac. I'm going to try to duplicate that with some new Sumi inks I just bought. I didn't know what to do with them but you have inspired me.
Sounds great! I have not tried inks myself although my daughter just sent me a set. Is there any way you can post a picture in the comments? Good luck with your project and thanks for the comment.
I get it! I wish we had help on all the stuff that takes us away from actually creating ... like lighting and marketing and selling and such ❤️
I need six employees although that would be a pain
I learned a few things but wishedthe painting had better lighting. I had trouble seeing it as well as I needed to
I'm glad my sharing helped you - and I'm experimenting with lighting - got myself a clip on light but it throws shadows so still looking.
This was so interesting to watch. The final details really brought the scene together and I love that you let us see everything all the way to the end. The little tips and pointers you share as you make your composition decisions are priceless.
Thank you so much! I sometimes wonder if I'm getting across. So kind of you.
I love each one. These drawings have a whimsical quality to them which makes me smile. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Thank you so much 😀I like whimsical.
Gorgeous as usual.
Thank you! Cheers! So very kind of you.
Brilliant!!!
Ooh Gosh! Thank you.
The stems in that gap are just perfect and I always look forward to seeing the tiny centers appear. They transform the flowers. I love how this painting turned out. What a nice way to wrap up the week!
Thanks so much 😊 So very kind of you to comment and so generously. Thanks.
Really pretty! I would be interested in your book as well!
Thank you. So kind. I am almost done with the flower book and it includes Hydrangea, Roses, Dahlia and I'm not certain what the last two are but might be Delphinium and Lilac. All are fairly easy to paint with my method. Thank you for your interest.
These roses are so pretty and I love the thorns. Can't wait to get my hands on your book!
Glad you like them! The book is so exciting for me. Fun to do as well. It would be lovely if people buy it.
Gorgeous!! My favourite
Thank you. I love to paint roses - my fav flower
Beautiful. Simple and elegant
Thank you for your comment - So kind.
This is beautiful, I keep coming back just to be mesmerized by the first 15 seconds. This time I'm noticing the faint green reflection of the leaves in the vase. Wonderful touch!
Thank you so much! You are very kind in your observation of my work. So comforting!
The background music is entirely unnecessary and is incredibly annoying. Your painting is lovely. Ditch the music, please!
I had thought about it as there really isn't much good music available. Thanks for your comment
Most people trace an old master's portrait work and then carefully fill in the image much like a coloring book or a paint-by-number kit. You actually painted one! This is fantastic, I'm so impressed but I did have to smile when she suddenly changed from Diane Sawyer to a young Jessica Simpson toward the end of the video. I think Vermeer would be happy with this.
Well I hope you are right - I don't like messing with a proven masterpiece. Tracing is a great idea if you lack the skill to draw. She did jump back 10 years in age I hope Vermeer would be amused.
Love this video. I, too, am at this stage of watercolor painting: questioning, trying, failing, succeeding, learning.
Thanks for your comment. Keep on keeping on. We will get better if we do.
You captured the dreaminess of Monet's work and I think the lighthouse was a great addition. I can't wait to see what you do next.
Thank you. That's a great compliment. There are so many old masters to choose from, I have a lot of exciting choices.
I love all of these. Your talent is amazing! 😊
Thank you so much! I do love painting roses. Thanks for your comment.
Exceellent
Thanks for your comment. So kind of you.
Beautiful painting but please ditch the music. It interferes with what you are saying.
Thanks for your input - I have done exactly that in my more recent videos - ditched the music. Thanks again. CarolAnn.
I love these soft colors, this is really pretty. Happy Easter!
Thanks. I really like the watercolor pencils. Thanks for your comment and Happy Easter to you.
Are you using acrylic or oils?
To be honest I can't remember what I painted this one in but I think it might have been water mixable oil. These days I paint in acrylic - my more recent paintings. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Best, CarolAnn.
Beautiful! 😍 ❤❤❤
Thank you! Cheers! Glad you like it. Best, CarolAnn.
