    I'm thinking about buying today actually a 2018 Kia Soul the engine light was flashing when started up and then it stopped steadily it sounds good I didn't have a chance to pull any codes I didn't bring my scanner but I noticed the positive cable is really loose I'm hoping that's the reason why what do you think

      @HighGearAutomotive right and I'm a dealer it's at the auction so I was thinking about buying it but now I'm not sure but then again you said it could be a low voltage thing and the positive cable was really loose unfortunately I can't bring the scanner into the auction so what do you think it sounded really good it moved forward really fast and back it's a Progressive Insurance car it was hit in the rear so that's why it was there the whole tailgate has to be replaced but watching your video I'm thinking maybe it's because the positive cable is loose?? And the battery was completely dead when I jumped it off with my booster most of them are because they've been sitting at the auction for so long! By the way this is a 2018 Kia Soul

      @@mainps1 yeah this car was the first & only time i ran into it. Guess it really is going to depend if it feels like it is really misfiring. This one was still totally smooth. If it's a 4 cylinder you're definitely going to feel it if it's really got a misfire on start up. You'll still notice the 6 cylinder as well.

    • @mainps1
      @mainps1 Годину тому

      @@HighGearAutomotive yeah I didn't feel a misfire it sounded good it didn't shake it moved forward quickly but these engines have known failures with carbon buildup so I don't know it's a big gamble it could be just a cable or it could be carbon buildup or something worse

    I just had an issue where the engine started knocking with a P0011 dtc. Found the person that changed the oil put way to much in. It was about 4 inches above the full mark. I changed the VVT silonid and cam position sensor. Cranked it over it knocked for about 6 seconds then smoothed right out. This was on a 1012 KIA Forte. The only thing that has me baffled is there was only 1 silonid and 1 cam sensor. Every video I've seen shows 2 each, one for intake and one for the exhaust. The beauty cover is inbossed with DOHC. But did have junkyard paint lettering of "4-I" which I just assume means in-line 4 cylinder. 🤔

If you're loose you're gear set is probably worn & bad. Pinion depth did not change so as long as pattern looked good originally it's going to look the same.

Like I said, it has brand new spark plugs and wires and coil. I check everything that was possible, which would cause the misfire. I found the problem it was the computer so I changed it and now it runs and idling fine. So I want to ask you since I already changed the spark plugs and wires and coil when it was misfiring. Do I need to recheck the new spark plugs now since it's running right. Or will they be OK like I said it's idling and seems to be running fine now.
