Hey thanks for the video Timmy! And great to see some of the tracks down to the beach too. Very enjoyable to watch and I really enjoyed your commentary too!
No worries mate. Thanks for watching and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it 👍
Hiconic?
Hey mate, commented a while back but just watched this episode again, as I went for a drive (on the blacktop) to check out Seabird and Guilderton. Just wondering roughly how long that track takes to get from Seabird to Guilderton? I may stop for a fish (water looks awesome)... but as I'd be solo, I'll probably leave those two steep tracks down to the beach for another time. Cheers 🍻
Hi mate that sounds good. I'd allow around 5 or 6 hours. You could do it in less but I'd take my time and enjoy it. Let me know how you go 👍
Great work mate. Subbed. Awesome info and very natural. 4wding and fishing, can't beat it. Can u camp around there? Looks great for a few nights with the FJ... Cheers 🍻
Legend thanks for the positive feedback mate👍. Ive been pretty quite with making episodes lately I've been too busy with work, but there will be some new stuff coming shortly Unfortunately there's no camping along that stretch of coast. However there's nothing stopping you from fishing all night 😁
can't believe Fish Creek Hut is gone spend many of trips in the hut so so so sad will post a link of fish ck hut bugger ua-cam.com/video/zHRwQQLfgZE/v-deo.html
Yeh its not good mate. I have lots of fond memories of that place. It looks like you have a nice set-up there, well done 👍
I've been going down there for 25 years. I've camped with a mate and on my own. I love going to the Donnelly river and the fact that you can only get to the mouth by boat. No 4wd hoons around.
It's a magic spot mate, the perfect place to go and get away from it all. I hope it stays that way forever 👍
Bloody awesome video mate, UA-cam recommended it to me after a Lancelin and guilderton trip. Very enjoyable for me (younger audience) 🤘
Legend. Thanks for that mate, glad you liked it 👍
What do you recommend for bait and long you wait before pulling them
Hi mate. I use a tin of cat food and some chicken pallets in a sock. I usually wait an hour or so before pulling the nets
Pretty sure south coastal fishing club built the hut👍
Me and me mate camped at the hut only a few short weeks I reckon before this We heard rumours but bloody hell It’s criminal mate Government departments need to f##kin butt out All they end up doin is makin a shit show because they are out of touch and money and greed rule People power need to rise 🤙🤙
100% correct mate, it's such a shame. I'm glad you guys managed to camp there and experience it before it was pulled down 👍
Hey mate my mrs lives in front of you seen the youtube channel on ya boat walking passed drooling iver ya boat 😂 love to come for an adventure some time
Haha nice one. The old adventures have slowed down a bit lately as im flat out with work. However come December and January I'll be back into it and could sort something out 🍻
I always thought you couldn't take a boat across the inlet because of the shallow water but there you go. Also strange that they close the track in January. Anyway I've been there and it's an amazing place.
It's definitely a place you could return to many times and no get bored 👍
Welcome back. Great location. So many better beaches than crowded Lucky Bay out that way. Thomas River camp and Yokinup Bay is still my favourite. Thanks
Thanks mate. 100% agree with you there. I was going to camp at Thomas River however the camp sites were full when we pulled in. Ill be heading back again thats for sure 👍
Awesome beaches that way! Hope it was a great trip
You're not wrong mate. Some of the best in the West I'd say!
A common mis conception regarding the detention cell, the concrete foundations were the ablution blocks, not cells, the cells were contained in a 10 cell block made from corrugated iron and wood, the cells were 6ft x 10 ft. I have published a book on the POW events in WA during WW2, called, a Cage in the Bush, a historical account of German and Italian POWs 1941-1943, this also includes the survivors of HSK Kormoran. The book has many photos taken secretly by the Germans and clearly shows what the camp was like during the war.
That makes a lot of sense mate, and thanks heaps for that info I appreciate it. I will definitely take a look into your book it sounds awesome 👍
I remember hiking into these huts as a teenager (in the 80s) along the beach. Windy Harbour > Canterbury River Mouth > Moore's Hut > Fish Creek Shack > Broke Inlet. Camping over night at each location.
Thats awesome mate. The 80's and 90's were the best years down there, when not many people knew Northcliffe existed. When people asked where I lived and I replied "Northcliffe" I always had to explain where it was 🤣
great work mate, I'm over in Vietnam and show all my students your videos and they love it ! should I send some cute ones over for you ? lol
We use to camp at the hunt in the late 70`s.until big tiger snake fell from the roof in the middle of the night.
Maybe early 80s.that was 43 years ago.
That would have woken you up pretty quickly 🤣
On ya Timmy, good info, did Mike run out of Bush Chooks??
Thanks mate. Haha yeh im pretty sure he did from memory. We went to Yeagarup after spending a few days on the Woodarbarrup Track. We had to wait out a storm or two so the tins were disappearing fast 🤣
You forgot to mention how bad the track was leaving reef beach heading to fosters pin striped paint and gnarly rock walls
The amount of times I’ve been buried in my swag dure to the wind at reef beach always windy as
It was too bad when we were there mate. However last year around Israelite Bay and Esperance it was bloody relentless
Do you ever do tag along trips?
No sorry mate I don't. It might be something I look at in the future 👍
Mate and I had to do that detour because of the Thomas Fisheries track closure. Seems it gets closed after any rain event to reduce dieback spread but also seems to be dependent on when it can be inspected for opening by the ranger. It's therefore been closed for a year or so now and I don't think it will open anytime soon. We eventually even had to vacate Thomas River camp ground because of the rain. Notwithstanding, I really enjoyed our time there and your trip videos. Thanks again.
That makes sense about the closure of the track. The detour wasn't so bad in the end but I was disappointed I couldn't do the coastal run as I was really looking forward to it. We obviously still managed to see some other fantastic places that I'll never forget. Thanks for the clarification on the closure and I'm glad you're enjoying the vids 👍
Great memories as I haven't been into these places for many years. I recall (if I'm thinking of the right place) the hut was there in the early '80's. These days I do my best to encourage clean ups of these beautiful places so thank you. Over the years I've seen more and more places locked away or "managed" restricting access for the majority of people who do the right thing. I used to get mad, now I'm just sad that my kids and grandkids won't be allowed into these places if we ALL don't look after them. Thanks for the memories. Great video, nicely done. Not too much talk is appreciated but maybe consider a bit less "epic" music? I've hit subscribe. Cheers 👍
I definitely think you are thinking of the right place. It looks as if the hut has been there for many years and had numerous repairs. I understand exactly how you feel. The majority of people do the right thing and treat places with respect and its the minority that ruin it for everyone else. Im not even 40 yet and in the years I've been travelling around and exploring have seen many tracks shut or no camping signs put up that used to have fantastic camp sites 😔 I'll take into consideration the music and maybe drop the volume a little. I'm glad I bought back some fond memories for you. I'll definitely be heading back that way in the future to show more of the area and stay for longer 🍻
@@timmystours Thanks. Hope to catch you down that way some time. The beautiful south coast is the last (relatively) uncrowded and accessible coast in the country.
@@timmystours My mate reminded me that the shack at Reef Beach was built by the Offshore Angling Club and we always met there and called it by that name. The Offshore Angling Club hut. Hope this helps. These old places and access to them are priceless.
@@Ranger670 Thats awesome thanks very much for letting me know 😊. I'm glad it's still stading and I hope it stays that way
The shack was built by a angling club from Perth, use to have a wooden sign on the side of the shack saying what club it was in the 80s
Another good one Timmy, soon as this job finishes, we'll be out there too👍
Thanks bro. Might have to plan a trip back down that way. So much more to see and explore!
Great spot man. Hopefully I can join you on a trip when I dont work so much 👍
You're not wrong mate. Ill definitely be heading back, there's so much more on offer in the area. Time was an issue this trip. Sounds good to me mate 👍
hugely underrated channel, keep up the good work, loving the vids
Cheers mate. Glad you're enjoying them, that's what it's all about 👍🍻
Agree 100% about the stupid graffiti. What kind of dill takes spray cans out to places like that? Great video. Something you might like to get to help with sound levels are the Rode Go wireless mics. We got the GO II recently and it has really made a big difference to doing commentary on the run. I even use them for doing voice overs now too. Great bit of kit.
Unfortunately these people are among us 🤪. Thanks for the feedback mate its appreciated and I'll have a look the wireless mics. It sounds like it could be rather handy 👍
Mate your brother said stop giving the good spots away haha
Haha G'day Ben. He said that you said that 😜. Mate it's been a long time, I hope you've been keeping well 👍
Great video mate. I came across your channel a short while ago, subscribed now. The South West coast is awesome. Next time, check out Stream Beach too. That's just around the corner from Foster Beach.
Thanks heaps for that mate. I did want to check out more places, Stream Beach being one of them. However we didn't have enough time and had to head back. Ill definitely be back down there for longer next time. The channel will be slowing down a bit now as I'm heading back to work but stick around because there will be some good stuff coming a bit later 🍻👍
Wow, we called in there very briefly many years ago and never had a good look round. Really nice spot. Grest video. Never camped at Shelly Beach either although we have been there many times. That has to be one of the prettiest campsites in WA.
Thanks mate, its definitely a magical spot. There's a quite a lot of 2wd campsites like this around but in the next episode I'll be back in the 4wd heading to somewhere I've never been before. I'm looking forward to it 👍
Awesome footage killa spot will need to give wedge a 2wd fishing trip
Sounds like a plan mate 👍
Good Stuff Timmy 👍
Top job Timmy. Love it mate. Keep them coming..👍👍
Cheers mate. The next one will be back in the cruiser to a place I've never been myself. I'm looking forward to it 👌
Nice one Timmy glad your back sharing your travels ,cheers Mate
Thanks mate its appreciated 🍻
It looks like you have too much maroon to eat all yourself... perhaps a giveaway to some regular viewers?
Mate you might have to join me next season 👍
Good job please help Tim to get more subscriber's show your friends and family
Cheers buddy 👍
Awesome viewing 🇦🇺
Thanks mate, im glad you enjoyed it. That's what I do it for and appreciate your feedback 🍻
That’s looks great maybe a bit of herbs on top
Cheers mate. Thats a good idea 👍
No wind :D
Mate it was classic down south weather. I had it all in the same day. Sun, rain, wind but most of it was pretty good 👍
how long would the drive be from the start of the track to lake jasper?
Hay mate, if you allow yourself 3 hours that will be heaps 👍
Nice work
Cheers mate 🍻
Awesome scenery! Good to see some 2wd spots!
That footage is unreal! Hope to see a rundown of the new setup
Cheers mate. I might do walk around in the next episode 👍
Good stuff
Thanks mate 👍
It’s good to see you tell the history of the good like the vid
Glad you enjoyed it mate. Thanks for the feedback its appreciated 👍
Good Video, enjoyed it, thanks for sharing.. very surprised the hut is gone, stayed there many times. would like to see your review of the camper. thinking to get a pod camper, maybe a hitch campers canning, but a bit pricey.
I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback I appreciate it. It's definitely a shame about the hut 😔. I just got back from another trip and so far I'm very happy with the camper. There are few little things ill change here and there but nothing major 🍻
@@timmystours cool, thanks. look forward to the next trip.
Sick vid mate loved it should give use a walk around of that trailer
You're a legend thanks mate. Will do in an upcoming episode. I'm very happy with it 👍
Good stuff Timmy, looking forward to our trip in Jan 👌
Can’t believe fish creek hut is gone! Had such great memories there!
Same mate, so sad. I was going to speak my mind but it wouldn't be appropriate 😔
