      Legitimate comment. At the same time I didn’t feel like spending the money on the oil lines I like if the bike wouldn’t fire. Since I have past experience with the carb on a motocross bike I knew I’d be able to start it with it in the position so I could get an idea if it worked or not. Might i suggest, an intake spacer with 2 bolts on one side, and a short rubber intake boot with proper clamp bands next time before testing? That way you can lever the carb, and get float level correct and jetting correct for that engine👍 Its a great idea though

    Good stuff 👍 👍 Caleb would probably call that carb the one thousand dollar carb 😝 …at minimum. But yes, still worth every penny of time spent on it considering the alternative. Two questions: 1. What do you, good doctor, think about initially using a sonic cleaner in order to get much of the crud off, thereby lessening the time spent on initial grime removal? Seen the old gray-beard, Pacific Mike, applying the services of his new one to great satisfaction recently. 2. What about just using the nifty little Dremel? It seems as though the Dremel “OEM” collar, utilized on THE actual Dremel would maybe be less of a threat in regards to nicking the surface than that adapter set-up. It somehow seems as though that Milwaukee unit, as nice as it is, is a little more cumbersome to handle for finesse work than a Dremel would be. It’s just a thought. Lookin’ forward to the progression of the slow-build 😎 From Southern California ~ Ride Forever! 🦅

    • @drmikemerkt
      @drmikemerkt 3 місяці тому

      Thanks for the kind words! You’re definitely right in regards to both those points. At some point I’m sure I’ll get an ultrasonic cleaner and an actual dremel would for sure be a bit less sketchy to work with. I debated getting one for this project but since I don’t need a dremel very often I went with the little adapter piece for my Milwaukee tool instead.
