My name is Rodney. I'm Filming what I do outdoors and in the garage. I'm new at this, so give me some time and patience. I'm learning how to do all the stuff you see on the videos. They might be kinda rough, but I'm learning.

New chain on the Stihl, Rescuing the Echo, and high speed come-a-part.
Sounds more like a clogged vent cap?
@@craighanson2983 I did get a new cap later.
You need to speak up
@@brucelewis1017 I didn't have a microphone at that time.
Aren't the drive links different on the Stihl chain?
The number of drivers are different. That depends on the bar mostly. As far as I know the shape of the drivers are the same
Thanks man 💯 real life for sure lol
Thanks, I try and cut out the b.s. and just show what's up.
Awesome video thanks
Great vid do you have a link to the assembly kit in the bag presented there ? And what tools did you use ? I've got a Echo cs 590 we just bought from a pawnshop and it's leaking oil I've done and inspection and clean up so I know I've gotta change the oiler.
I miss milling. I used a stihl ms441c for 10 years milling, but it finally toasted out on me. It's so complicated to work on I wont tryin repair it. Hopefully in another year I can get me a new 462 or 500i.
There's lots of videos on rebuilding saws. For the most part, there are pretty simple. I would love to try out a 500i, but that's more saw than I probably need. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Yours was the first March 2024 TacPack vid I watched. I can dig the armorer's wrench ... also having an extra mag is always good. The rest ... meh. Good video. Thanks!
I agree. Next month will probably be better
You didn’t show how to drill that hole bigger… or at an angle. Just talk over and over about making the hole bigger. But how??!
Sorry about that, I get kinda excited when the camera is going. I used a 7/ 32-bit straight down. That size might work for you but might not. Just make sure that you don't take out too much and get into the rail. It's easier to drill more than to put back. I got a bar that I need to open up I'll try and make a better video on that one soon. Thanks for watching.
Well done video and explanation. I’m about to install the filter kit on my cs620 and this was quite helpful.
Thanks I'm trying
590’s are great saws, I have noticed that that springs wear though and squeak on the 590 & 620 I have both.
I wasn't able to find any after-market springs. I'm sure these will start squeeking again. I hope that the piece of hose helps limit some extra travel.
pretty weak box
You win some you lose some.
Hey cool video bro! I would recommend maybe getting a CAT style TQ. The RATS is good but if you're by yourself, more moving parts to use it and honestly does the job the CATS can, but is also more painful. If you have a PO box I can send you a SOF Gen5 CATS TQ. I stole a few of em from my supply cage and wouldn't mind sending you one to keep on hand when you're outdoors.
Thanks for watching. I'll check out the cat style. Never hurts to have more options.
@hollerwoodsman Do you have a PO box brother?
@2averagenoobs108 I don't at this time. Never really thought that anyone would send me something. Hahaha. I'll work on it and let you know.
@hollerwoodsman sounds good brother. Please let me know, I want you to be safe even tho I just came across your channel. I do like your content alot. Short, simple, and cool.
@2averagenoobs108 Thanks brother. Always great to hear words of encouragement. I appreciate it. Stay safe and I'll talk with you soon.
my dad si a echo cs 620p
Bought my wife a new Echo saw. She left me 10 minutes after using it. That has been 3 months ago. Word around town is a man with a Husqvarna 550 XP is dating her now. Be careful buying Echo stuff my friend.
She's not a Husqvarna fan... maybe a man with a 7310, though.... I'll keep an eye out. Hahaha
Nice video. Nice job God bless
Thank you
Try diluting your bar oil with vegetable oil. Flows better esp in winter
I run some winter blend when it gets cold. I've been running the bars with no issues with oiling for a bit now. I actually had to turn the oil down some.
Not a good idea, this oil doesn't stick on your chain, so it gets to hot and stretch during time.
That is definitely not a old school bar on that saw I have 6 of those saws and all have roller noise bars on them
I was thinking the chain was an old style. It's might be a green safety chain. I've not seen one before.
Nope it's not a safety chain for sure
Well, I'm at loss then.
Lmmfao
I'll bring my saws over and play if you want.
Sounds like a good time
Is this the normal tacpack or the plus?
It's the normal original one.
Nicee vidioss👍👍
👍👍👍👍
It appears to me that drilling a hole in front of and behind the original hole in the same diameter and grinding a slot of sorts would work best. Any wider top to bottom than the saw body slot just makes for possible leaks. I've done my bars that way for 40 years and have had good results.
That sounds good. But that world is more work, hahahaha.
This was fun!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks I'm trying
😜 Promo*SM
I took the front half and all the guts out, put open 3/4 pipe and it made me happy.
Got to let them breathe.
Risky cut but well done!
Yes it was! I looked it over alot before cutting.
I opened up the 6 small holes on the inside of the muffler
It really makes a big difference. Kinda doggy, then open it up some, and she goes to town.
Langnau Kentucky here
👍👍👌👌
wait a minute... how come you don't hit that big log right smack in the middle like all the other guys!! they smack the same number of times but only end with two pieces!! I'm going to guess you heat your house with wood!!
The middle had some rot in it. Sometimes, it's easier to bust off the side first. Yes, we heat with wood, 3-4 cords a year.
I have noticed that the hole that comes standard in most bars are plugged solid with sticky sawdust. I have opened the holes to 3/16 and it helped but still plugs. I used a die grinder to angle the hole like the stock bar only bigger. I think I will go to 7/32. Tried 30 wt oil that is not sticky and seemed to help a little.
Yeah I think that something has to be done. Opening up the holes definitely helps the bar and chain.
I can't hear you.
Sorry I didn't have a microphone at the time.
Can you do a start up of it?
For sure.
I’m enjoying this kind of content, you’ve earned a new subscriber. This does however give off a very home video kind of vibe, is that what you’re going for?
Thanks for watching and subscribing. I guess I'm going for that, (home video) more than the click bait and highly processed. I don't like that type of video as much. I'm just doing what I do. I mess up and have mistakes like everyone. I think of it for family members that I don't get to see much, so they can enjoy outside stuff to.
Tanto blade
That's it, It's hard to remember when the camera is on.
Found your channel and sub
Thanks hope you like it. Been kinda slow lately but spring is coming.
My 600 really didn't like that hole drill mod, sounded good, but did not like to get tuned for the cut. I ended up redoing the whole muffler, cut in half, took out that pipe, sealed off the top outlet and put the 5/8 pipe as a side exit. I shared some photos on my community page I believe. I really like the saw now!
They definitely have there own personality. Mine seems to be doing good still. Thanks for watching.
If using your phone to record you should look into buying a Bluetooth lavalier mic. Would help the quality of your audio. 😁
Do you have a link by chance? I got a mic that plugs into the headphone jack. My phone doesn't work with it though. It works with my wife's phone so I'm going to start using it until I get a new phone.
Actually I don't care about better air flow, I'm just interested in the better filtration, this changes everything cus I just bought the 630pw and was disappointed that it shares the same filter as my 590, thanks for the video.
I've not seen any debris inside. As before there would be some. So it seems that is doing a great job. Thanks for watching!
Is this the big box or the lite box
It's the regular/ original box. I didn't see the email about the lite box until after the video was up. Thanks for watching.
What type of wood is it. .?
Smooth bark hickory. That's what we call it anyway.
Cool! Who knew!?
Great video. I started just screwing the top on first and then sliding the foam over it. Wearing gloves of course. But your method is still better the others I have seen. When I first got my Echo 620 pretty much same saw) last year I ran it a few tanks with the stock filter and orings added and some grease at seal areas and I still got dust in the intake. I stopped using the saw and ordered the Red Beard filter kit for it. This is a saw I want to last for years and I am not taking chances. Looks like you took less chances and didn’t even try the factory set up. Good for you!! Thanks for the great video and helping other people with their saws. Gabriel
Thanks for watching. I did run the factory set up for quite some time. I was tired of paying an arm and leg for a filter, that let's junk by. Red Beard Saws is the only one for the echos as far as I know. I really like the set up I got. I work I would of got a 620, but I'm more than happy with my Echo. I have to remember to take the Stihl it to run it.
No fuss, no frills. Ripped into the box and showed us what was in it. Good box opening man.
Thanks I try and leave it the fluff.
By the way, how has the air filtration upgrade working out, thanks☺️
It's been good. Very happy with it. It's about time to clean the filter, so another video coming sometime.
I got the o rings and washers from sawagain and will try them I guess!! I have about 5 or 6 dirty air filters that I need to clean and keep using for awhile!! But I have never been happy with the air filtration!! I have had a echo 600 for about 10 years and a 620 for two!! I thought about the 7310 but it has jumped to 1000 vs less than 800 two years ago!! I will look forward to your bear filter video and may eventually go that route! Thanks for videos, they are right up my alley, haha👍
@@tonykeller2839 I really couldn't justify the price of the disposable ones. That's the main reason I got this set up
Hello there, great video for me!! I have a several year old echo 600p and besides the air filtration, I have a problem with the dog screws coming loose even with blue loctite etc. I am considering upgrading the sprocket guard with the dog!! I would also have to get a different chain tensioner an maybe guide bar plate!! Question for you is do you think it would work with just the outside dog spike and leave the inner spike off!! I swear I can’t keep the screws from coming loose! The guy at the saw shop near me said he didn’t think I would like with just the outer dog!! Great video and thanks for any advice!! 😊
Thanks for watching. I'd upgrade if possible. Maybe for the inner dogs, new screws and nuts with the permanent Red shaft locker. Get both matching dogs though, my outer one is a 620 and the inner is the 590. I need to upgrade the inner. It might be possible to rivet them on(not pop rivets). They work on jet planes. My side cover came with the tensioner I think I had all the part number in the video, but if not I can post it. It was probably my favorite upgrade. I'm not sure if only the outer dog would hold up in the long run term, but you got to rock what you got.
Cool mod
I like it and it's been working great so far.
I really enjoyed the video and would like to know if you are able to run 84 drive link chain now instead of the factory 81?
Thank you for watching! I run the 84, per the bar specs. It's a Stihl bar and calls for an 84 drive link chain. I'm not sure what the factory Echo bar calls for.
@@hollerwoodsman thanks for getting back to me I subscribed to your channel and the echo 590 I have says 81 drive link but putting Stijl bar on may change that and would work a lot better for me to use 84
Thanks again. I'm still learning about all the different bars and chain. There allot to take in.
@@hollerwoodsman i agree thanks for the information I really appreciate it
I have an Echo CS400 do you think the same combo will work for me ? Really needing a longer bar !
