Now I aint no psychologist but I'm pretty sure Byakukya's insecure about himself in some sort of way and wants to feel better by constantly bragging about his "ultimate abilities". Which is funny because him and Makoto pretty much have equal IQ and Problem Solving techniques, the only difference is that Byakuya's a nepo baby that probably had prestigious education his whole life while Makoto just lived your average middle class suburban life.
