ABSTRACTS
Many of my online followers are not aware I also paint abstracts. The same guidelines for creating successful paintings of realistic subjects apply equally to creating powerful abstracts. For a change of pace I’m showing a couple of examples here. Enjoy!

LIMESTONE CANYON

This is one of the same locations I painted during the filming of my TV show. I couldn’t resist revisiting this dramatic scene for another painting adventure. For those not familiar with it, Limestone Canyon is a lush nature preserve featuring land formations untouched since prehistoric times. It’s like having a miniature Grand Canyon in our own back yard here in Southern California.

Here’s another oldie but goodie from my studio walls. I painted this on-site at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station after filming episode #11 of my TV show that day. FADING LIGHT

We were packing to leave when I saw the possibilities in the fading light and rising moon. The colors in the sky were so subtle I’m not even sure they come across in the images shown on a monitor. But they were a touch of pure magic, not to be missed. And I caught it in this final painting of the day!
