I never knew about the POW camp in Brockley, very interesting. Do you know where this would have been?

@@Luke-mq1gj Hi Luke, yes it was on the A370. Later in the war it also had German soldiers a few also remaining in the area. It’s here on Google Maps maps.app.goo.gl/RSScuJddRFsSpDKQ9?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy. Nick

Interesting video. More information and video taken on Staghound and Fernwood. ua-cam.com/video/ZHDQ-7_EOP4/v-deo.html Section starts at 9.14. Video was made in 2014 so they may have deteriorated a bit by now ! Fernwood was sunk at Dartmouth by hit and run bombing, her stern was cut off and she was towed to Woodspring Bay. This is why she stops abruptly and there is nothing behind the engine room section ! Both ships were originally used as test vessels for trials for Beehive demolition charges intended to demolish blockships that the Germans might have used to barricade ports needed after D Day. Fernwood had stone blocks and Staghound was filled with concrete. Fernwood's stone is still on position ! Afterwards they were used as targets by the RAF but the main use was by the Wheezers and Dodgers for Beehive tests.

The concrete block structures at the Kenn Moor Starfish are most likely Z rocket ready use ammunution holders.

I was not able to find much about them, as a kid I used to play in the bunkers. My dad can remember when they were in use during the war.

@@WhereItTakesUs I've done a fair bit of research on the local sites . I always thought Kenn Moor was a lighting site rather than a SF but not looked into this one very much so can't be sure. Fields of Deception by Dobson is the major reference book on Starfish. Nice little video . 👍

Very interesting Rob and Nick. Especially about the Starfish site. I remember going on a walk to the Pepperpot, Brown's Folly in Bathford during my time in the UK. Would love if you can do a walk there some time.

Enjoyable little video, especially the drone footage of inaccessible spots. I would have liked a few words on the Iron Age hill fort on Wains Hill. You mention Woodspring District Council. This has not existed for many years: it is now North Somerset Council. Look forward to more

Thanks for the comments Chris and the feedback. This is our first video so all comments are welcome, noted about North Somerset Council. We are planning more and filming over the next few weeks if the weather ever improves! Nick

Great little video… a walk I do regularly. Love the historical element, and learnt something new. More of this in the Yatton/Clevedon area would be great!
