Funny enough, I did the same thing for my audition at Morehead!
Also, I believe you forgot to mention the relationship between the tempos at A and B. Not only is the relationship from C to D a metric modulation, but likewise it is also a metric modulation at B. The half note triplet from letter A is equal to the quarter note at letter B. You don’t get the best set-up rhythmically, but that is a sure fire way to make sure you’re not playing B too fast or too slow.
You played the fivelets inside of the half note triplets as sevenlets, why?

What mallets are those?
They are the Vic Firth Tim Genis GEN7 Articulate Mallets. I would look for something articulate and light, but not too hard like a super staccato, wood, or molto articulate mallet.
