Gotta admit it, going to my first show in Feb 2025 and the amount of fakes makes me regret my reservations for my hotel. That and the guy getting onto the guy in the SS Uniform is laughable, you can buy SS Stuff at the show for crazy prices and even fakes yet he is more worried about a damn guy in a uniform.

Hi think your a little mis informed. I've loads of badges with what you call coffin shaped pin attachment ! inc some pre RZM with letter B maker mark and ges gesh (patent pending) its also possible to have original badges with just RZM and ges gesch ( I've an early tombac bronze with button hole pin). I've had this for over 50 years ! Pre RZM, ........would have maker logo and ges gesch . In 1934 when RZM came in, not all firms went over , but a few new ones also arrived. The RZM with ges gesch, was produced for a short time until RZM code numbers and letters were issued. A Bit later. RZM codes I have are M1/128, ( M1/65 on Hitler Youth shooting badge) all have the same pin attachment. True there is a coffin or lozenge shaped pin on replicas too but they simply copied from the originals and slightly different. your comment they're "from somewhere like India or China" indicates lack of research All replicas have a give away, usually the materials used, both the metal and the enamel ! A good example of a common replica is the SS Gau Munchen rally badge, it has very large coffin or lozenge pin fixing with very obvious sharp corners. The gau tag has no date and the swastika has little dot in each leg, which indicates its a Hindu swastika (Indian) Experience is the best but usually the original leaps out at you ! If you not sure leave it. There were many different pin attachments (the circular attachment was also very common) hope this helps

My Grandfather fought in the Aleutian Islands 43,44 then Rhineland and Central Europe Jan 45 till the end. His 355th infantry regiment 89th infantry division liberated Ohrdruf concentration camp in April 45. He earned two bronze stars and 2 theatre ribbons and Riflemans badge. He brought home an Armband, Black Hat and a yellow handle Heer Dagger. The dagger was stolen in 2015 and it has a crack on the handle next to the pummel and his initials J.A.B. are carved into the back of the gaurd. It still has the Eagle & Swas on it. It was made by E.F. Horster. Ill know it if i ever see it.

Yep. Leaving is the hardest part. Love the "museum for sale" experience...and then there's the friends you have to leave and know you won't see or maybe even talk to for at least a year. The time spent at one of these goes by so fast. I'm not speaking from experience on this particular show as I've never been, but I do attend the Tulsa gun shows which are kind of the same thing. Huge gun show. They happen twice a year, but I usually one attend one a year. So, very oddly sad thing when leaving.

there are a lot of collections like these in europe...believe it or not germany in the nazi era printed their symbolism in basically everything for all ages to brainwash people into national socialism...so there are literally millions and millions of military and civilian nazi germany memorabilia spread around the world to this day...from soap to china and cutlery, i have seen literally everything except for toilet paper with the nspd emblems in flea markets all over...its a fantastic collection of a darker period of human history...but still history....

In the 80th and 90th I collected only Insurance signs and I swear this heavily damaged sign is O R I G I N A L. Even , if your beloved orange rust ist partially upon it. Those Christmas ornaments could be fake, but not absolutely. At 100 % such stuff was "blown" in Thuringia around the town of LAUSCHA, Germany's best and largest C.-glass ornament's makers (still going strong, but no 3rd-reich-stuff anymore). My sister in law was born in ERNSTTHAL near Lauscha and her family worked since 3 generation in the (many) glass works over there. During my visit at the Lauscha glass ornament's museum the leader told me, that diverse of such ornaments (as well the HINDENBURG- Zeppelin and war aircrafts with swasticas) were removed from the exhibition. BUT the stuff exists! App. ten years ago a Thuringian antique trader actually found a (to me unknown) number of retail sized cardboard boxes with swastika ornaments at an estate clearance and sold it over weeks at his private Internet site. I remember about 30 $ each ornament. But some years later (up from 2020 I believe to remember) the MAX was overloaded with this stuff. And actually it was all fake. Maybe from Poland, but in Germany the rumours told, they are made in Romania. So far...so good. The Polish dont make me restless. Its produced for the lays' choir on public markets close behind the border. I see the Chinese efforts to produce 100 % exact copies as much more dangerous. More and more harder to distinguish from the originals. Maybe one day I will find a copy of one of my tank badges on the MAX, eventually made after my stolen one by the each time cruising around scar faced Chinese. Since the bastard avoids my look or taking quickly a diversion. So it goes. Greetings from Germany!

It’s funny there loads of Daggers and loads of other items everywhere and they still ask so much for it.. This is the ONLY hobby where quantity doesn’t affect the price.
