On Sunday 28th July i flew in Spitfire NH341 "Elizabeth" for the 2nd time! This time over beachy head where many aerial scenes for Spitfire 2018 were shot. It was an unforgettable moving experience and a i will always think of it now when i here this fabulous musical score. The Spitfire is a symbol of freedom and we will never forget the debt we owe it and all the brave young men and women who flew it. Elizabeth i ❤ you!

The Americans knew TSR2 was better than anything they could come up with. PERIOD. The British had the best aircraft design people anywhere on the planet. Period. The only problem was England had no money and influence to convince Australia etc. to buy this fantastic aircraft. The F111 was total rubbish in comparison.

44:37 Just to clear up a myth here, this airframe being burnt was actually just a wooden mockup and NOT an actual production airframe. It burnt because it was wood, nothing to do with any magnesium. My source is the book TSR-2: Britain's Lost Bomber, it clarifies this myth.

It is a bit surreal listening to the news clips in these episodes regarding the build up to Operation Iraqi Freedom - and to know that we are now 20+ years on and that a number of these pilots are now in senior roles within the RAF.

It should be against the law for a warplane to be that beautiful.
