Rebuilding a Kawasaki Concours (Part 3) – Painting
Hi Guys, Nikko is here!
In this video, I’m finally continuing the repair of my wrecked 2010 Kawasaki Concours 1400 and I’m painting the fairings.
If you are a professional car painter and you see that I’m doing something wrong in this video, please do tell me about that. I really want to improve my painting skills for my next projects. Thank you!

Rebuilding a Kawasaki Concours - Repair of fairings
Переглядів 692Рік тому
Hi Guys, Nikko is here! In this long video, I’m repairing the damaged plastic fairings of my wrecked 2010 Kawasaki Concours 1400. This process is long and it requires a lot of sanding, but the result is satisfying. I’ve managed to repair almost all plastic parts and saved a ton of money. The only thing that I’m going to buy is the front part that goes around the headlight - it’s missing too lar...
Rebuilding a Saab 9-3 Aero - Preparing for painting
Переглядів 133Рік тому
Hi Guys, Nikko is here! In this video, I’m going to prepare my wrecked 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible for painting. For this, I’m going to apply two types of putty to fill small dents and imperfections. First, a more coarse one (sanding it with 120 grit), and finally - a very thin, fine, and soft 3M glazing putty. And, of course, I’m going to sand everything. First, with 220 grit, and then - 32...
Rebuilding a wrecked 2010 Kawasaki Concours - Removal of fairings
Переглядів 2 тис.2 роки тому
Hi Guys, Nikko is here! I have a new project that I’m going to do together with repairing the Saab. It’s another motorcycle - 2010 Kawasaki Concours 1400. The damage is to the front part. Mostly to the fairings. I’m going to repair almost all the plastic parts. But for this, I need to remove them from the bike first. So, in this video, I’m going to remove strip down my Concours and remove the f...
Rebuilding a Saab 9-3 Aero - Hood repair
Переглядів 2232 роки тому
Hi Guys, Nikko is here! In this video, I’m going to straighten and repair the hood (or bonnet, if you prefer British English) of my Saab 9-3 Convertible bent by the previous owner. Fortunately, the damage was not too excessive and I didn’t need to replace the whole hood. Now, I can start preparing both the hood and the front fender for the painting. This project is going slowly, but it’s going ...
Rebuilding a wrecked 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero - Fender repair
Переглядів 3332 роки тому
Hi Guys, Nikko is here! In this video, I’m going to straighten and repair the front fender of my Saab 9-3 Convertible damaged by the previous owner in the collision. It was a long, many-week, work (not every day, of course). But finally, it’s done, and I can start preparing the fender for the painting. Note! This is not a tutorial on how to do this work right. The right way would, probably, be ...
I’ve started to get my wrecked Saab 9-3 back together
Переглядів 402 роки тому
Hi Guys, Nikko is here! I’m sorry for the delay with the new video. So, the frame of Saab is on its place now. It took more time and money than I wanted - but it is what it is. At least, the front part of the car is on its place and the car doesn’t look heavily damaged anymore. Now, it’s time to start to assemble it back again. In this video, I’m basically installing the parts that I’ve removed...
Getting my wrecked 2006 SAAB 9-3 ready for the frame works
Переглядів 952 роки тому
Hi Guys, Nikko is here! This is a short video with an update on my Saab rebuilding project. Great news, it seems that I’ve found a local body shop that may straighten the frame for a reasonable price. So, this car maybe gets back to the road sometimes (fingers crossed). But to keep the price reasonable, I need to remove some parts that are on the way. So, in this video I’m going to remove the r...
Disassembling my project #SAAB 9-3 and assessing the hidden damage

Hi Guys, Nikko is here! I’m continuing to work on my car rebuilding project. I’ve started to disassemble my wrecked 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible to get to the hidden parts and see if they were damaged in the accident or not. In this video, I’m going to remove the headlights, remove the battery, and the windshield wipers cover. The wheel arch shield has to go, too. There are bad news and good ...

Hi Guys, Nikko is here! In this video, I’m going to change the oil in my main motorcycle Honda CTX700 DCT with dual clutch transmission. That's why you shouldn’t by a car on Copart - Project Saab updates

Hi Guys, Nikko is here! This video is an update on my car rebuilding project. I’m finding more and more damage in my wrecked 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible. But there are also a couple of bright sides. I always say that it is very dangerous to buy a car or a bike on Copart or any other insurance auction. You are always going to find much more damage than you expected. You never can see all the ...

Hi Guys, Nikko is here! In this very short video, I’m telling how to move the gear shift lever of Saab from Parking to the Neutral position. You may need it if your battery has died or if you (like myself) lost the key and you need to move the car. There is a surprisingly small number of videos on this matter on UA-cam. Most of the available videos are related to models before 2003. It’s defini...

I’m still not sure that it was a smart decision, but it is what it is - I already have it and I’m going to have a lot of fun. I don’t know how much time and effort this project will take but I’m not in hurry. In any case, this one is a very interesting one! !!!!!!!! PLEASE hel...

Hi Guys! Nikko is here! In this video, I’m continuing to rebuild my wrecked Honda CBR600 F4i. I’m trying to start her, looking for the reasons for issues, changing the air filter, replacing the gear shift lever and its bracket, and replacing the alternator cover. It took a little while because it’s been really cold here, in New Jersey in January. But now, I’m back to work and I’m going to put t...

If I turn the handlebar all the way to the left/right it bumps into the windshield... Does this mean the front fork is damaged? Think this is repairable? Thanks!

This is a bad idea because it bypasses the function of the actual Killswitch. If you are thrown from the boat or otherwise unable to hit that switch your boat will simply run off without you.... Adding a toggle and a line to the toggle to trip it would be better.

Hey Nikko, just wondering if the fairing was bent how are you going to straighten it?

    • @nikkodoes
      @nikkodoes Рік тому

It depends on the type of plastic. ABS plastic usually doesn't bend, it breaks. So, you need to repair the crack. PVC plastic bends, and you can slightly heat it up to unbend it. Usually, all plastic parts may be formed/bent with a little bit of heat, you just need to be careful to not melt it.
