There was a scene un UA where Ben talks to Max right about his decision to "take care" of Ultimate Kevin. Ben himself admits that the reason he "acted like a jerk" was because he let the fame of being a superhero get to his head. The reason he didn't seem like a "jerk" in the earlier stages of UAF was because he was still trying to hide his powers from the public. People letting fame get to their heads is sometimes normal and to be expected. Ben even later says in his fight with Kevin that he doesn't like being famous and wants his secret identity back. I'm assuming that in OV he simply learned to live with being famous while also not letting it get to his head again

sometimes i wonder if you can be a bad boyfriend and a good person or a bad person and a good boyfriend, the only bad boyfriend i remember was from omniverse where ben said he "wondered why you never called back", like he didn't even know that his old girlfriend had moved on, but i don't reaally remember any truly moments besides that.

Kai Green is the main reason I created a Ben 10 OC in 2017. To this day, I still have that character, and I am currently trying to write a hypothetical sequel series to Omniverse with her as Ben'sbiggest supporter and advocate. Ally (OC's name) will have plenty of things to say to Kai (and Ben's other love interests for that matter) in this series...things which may or may not have been inspired by videos like this.

Totally agree with you gurl, plus Ben's always been my childhood crush and i resonate with him so much thay he's such a comfort character for me, and plenty others too. Besides that It really annoying for people to jump to so many negative conclusions about his character "downgrading" through the franchise, Ben has tried his hardest to deal and solve so many issues around him, dven in relationships, and i think its totally okay if he doesn't always get what to do and comes off a bit blunt without thinking sometimes, or gets cocky at times, i mean we all love him for being a bit smug at times but he never means any harm ofc, and it doesnt mean he's "inensitive", "jerky" or a "bad bf", etc. It pisses me off when the others judge him as a gag about it and for being a "doofus" in the series, especially in Omniverse, like let our boy be, he's doing his best and he doesn't deserve this slander, he deserves way better 💚

I mean he is but isn’t, at first Ben was the reason for all of Ben and Julie’s arguments but in ultimate alien- her 2 appearances in OV SHE was the problem, they both make valid points, he said “since I’m “too busy” we should break up” and Ben was hurt and mad and that’s how HE perceived it, and she clarifies by saying “since your too busy we might as well be broken up”. When Ben went public with his identity yes he became more busy fighting crime and yes he could have at least tried to make more time for her but she should also know that dating a superhero comes with these types of costs so they’re both in the wrong but right at the same time

I've been writing - and debating - on this topic for a while. It comes up in fanbase discussion often and because of that, I've realized I've never really outlined the biggest reason why I completely disagree with the common argument of Ben being portrayed as a bad boyfriend throughout the romantic subplots of the series. So, here it is...the final argument.
