Isn't what you call G major 7 in fact G dominant 7?

This is sort of out of my pay grade. But my music teacher says that I a have become a music theory Geek, so I enjoyed just auditing the lesson.

You know what advantage Jacob has is his immersion with notes and how it feels. He has perfect pitch and had time swimming with how harmonies sound like and notes with each other. I think he doesn't use math and this theory along his way up but is actually just listening to what he's done and just pouring out creativity with courage. Then, along the way as he matures, he can now explain what he's doing because yeah he'd been to music school and is actually a son of a music teacher at a University. Perfect pitch and immersion have its edge, plus his full courage in just putting chords out and not caring what people have to say. That's the problem with creativity. You can know all the math in the world but without courage in arranging, no results.

Great Video! I personally always felt that the chord C,D,F,G,Bb,C (I don't know the name so I"m just listing down the notes in order from bottom to top) had a very christmassy feel

Nice applying of the theory! Could have been introduced earlier on in the series to demonstrate what it's all about.

I first read Levarie and (Ernst) Levy's book Tone in 1980. A few years later, a friend of mine built a 256-key keyboard synthesizer modeled on the Pythagorean Table, which I first encountered through Tone. Levy in his Harmony bases his theory on the corner 36 cells of 256 cells of the Table. If you had a room of resonating objects containing a source tone and all its undertones, you would realize the undertones aren't just psychological but are all the possible tones that could set the source tone vibrating; the overtone and undertone series if used properly sees the source tone as the bridge between created and creator. The type of diagrams of possibilities I have been developing over decades has certain similarities' to the equal tempered model you are showing here. If so-called "just intonation", which is not really a scale but a system of resonating sounds, were understood all the theory you are demonstrating would be pushed to an entirely more expansive level that no one is talking about at this time.

An excellent beginning for a complex subject. All things evolve or die, including ideas, and this erudite tutorial can easily evolve, which, curiously, will do so by being "dumbed-down" .

Who are? Do you have a website? I knew two people who worked with Levy. One of them, Ernest McClain, said I deserved to have know Levy personally. The other was responsible for the creation of the first translation of a work of Hans Kayser into English. I'd like to have many lengthy discussions with you.
