This poor guy... I wish I could help him, but if I even barely step in his directio he leaps away.

Well, I say this goes to the stream, but that stream is pretty deep in a ravine... This at least gets us to some walking land above the stream...

We set the camera on a tripod and aimed it out the window at the bird feeder, then I used a remote-access app so I could hit record whenever I saw action. Enjoy! We saw two robins bathing in the little stream in front of the house today.

I saw about 20 elk resting on the hill. I went in for my camera, then went toward the fence to take a photo. But apparently they didn't like that, as they all got up and started to exit, stage right. I fumbled as I changed my phone from photo to video mode, so only caught the last moment of the migration.

We sometimes put food* out for the local deer herd. When we started filming we didn't realize how many would show up! And I'm glad I caught on camera the way they poke each other to get out of the way. Last night we had our first snow since we moved to Clatskanie. The peanuts I tossed out just dropped into the powder, invisible to the birds, so I put out a bowl. The jays took 30 minutes to finish the nuts, but we edited out the down-time.

I love watching these jays and so have probably gone through at least $50 of peanuts feeding them.

I was in the city in February 2023 and took timelapse video each of my five days there to catch the magnificent harbor cranes at work. THis video puts together video from three different days. This is why it's worth it to bring a small tripod with you when you travel!
