At last, I can add a comment! I've been following the series because I'm planning a trip in late February '24 staying in almost exactly the same spots as you. I'll have slightly more daylight than you had so hopefully a bit less time pressure. Your tips along the way have been great, especially on the wild camp spots, because I'd been stressing since most of the regular campsites are closed until March. It's a great series, well filmed and I'm surprised you have so few subs, you deserve many more - you've got me now at least! 🙂 I last did the WHW in 1982, not long after it opened and although I've section-hiked most of it over the years, some stages multiple times, this will only be my second thru' hike of it. I hope you raised a lot of cash for your cause.

@@alangauld6079 Hi Alan. Good to hear the videos have been helping you with your planning. You will certainly have a bit more daylight by February than I had when I walked it a week before Xmas in 2021. I managed in the end to raise almost £1700 for the stroke association in my nephew's memory.ive since they hiked the trail 3 more time's bringing me to a total of 6 times and funnily enough I've been considering this coming February myself for another trip. Nothing definite as yet but I'd certainly like to walk/camp it with a chance of snow. I haven't filmed much over the last year due to other commitments and a quite nasty leg injury but hoping to get out filming some new stuff very soon. Thanks for subbing! All the best, Carl

Thanks Chris. Glad you've enjoyed the videos. Shaun made a full recovery but trying to entice him out on more long distance hikes has proved rather difficult. I'm very proud of him for completing the way and this particular time will always be very special to me walking it with my son. Thanks for watching, all the best, Carl

I have always been ok on my own, so I am looking forward to it and it doesn’t matter how long it takes me, I’m thinking seven to ten days and a few days in Fort William at the end? Take care, regards, Chris. 🍻👍👍

Hi Carl, this is a fantastic film, I am walking the West Highland Way around April 2024 on my own and I will be camping, over seven days, give or take. If I can find Connor’s rock, it will be an honour for me to pay tribute to him. Scattering some of Connor’s ashes there, was a fantastic thing you did for him and his family, done with the highest respect. I hope I can find his rock. I have watched lots of West Highland Way films for reference and research, this film is the best I have seen, thank you for sharing your journey, much appreciated, regards, Chris. 🥃👍👍

Hi Chris, firstly many thanks for your kind words regarding Connor. It's coming up for 5 years since that fateful night that cut his young life short. It doesn't get any easier. I've walked the way five times now and each time I visit his rock and sit a while there. Sometimes I will raise a toast to him other times I will play some of his favourite music. It gives me great peace to sit there where I feel close to him. I've filmed some of these other journeys and by watching them you may get a better idea of the location. I'm glad you enjoyed this video and hope it has helped with your planning. I wish you good luck on your own adventure along the way in 2024. Carl.

Thank you for the films and your reply, all the best and take care, regards, Chris. 🍻👍👍

The porridge did thicken up after standing a few minutes. The bivvy was a success but I've made a few tweaks and had some practice pitches at home to make getting in and out a bit easier next time I will be visiting a few more crash sites in the future so if I decide to carry on filming there may be some more wreck visits on here. Cheers,Carl.
