Are they both the same OS version? I know color rendering changed somewhat in version 3.16. I've been checking every day for 3.16 to make it to my device but it still says 3.15 is the latest. So you may or may not have 3.16 (need to check).

What do u mean by old version? Wasn’t the adaptive feature new so you’re comparing both new ?

I also got myself one with a new serial number greater than RM02A00430, and one with one less than RM02A00430. The one that is greater does indeed have a brighter panel, but where you REALLY notice it is in the blacks, especially on big areas with the backlight on. The blacks on the new panel are deeper, whereas the old ones are blue-ish.

This is a good comparison. I am just not a fan of the color e-ink devices yet. RPP is probably the prettiest but Boox is the most functional.

I have both of them and love that they didn’t change the sizing.

Isn't the dots in question how printed images look when you get really close? Maybe we just need higher ppi displays to not notice it like we don't with magazines and stuff.

Good discussion, thanks for the shout out. Just to clarify, the Nomad does have 300ppi but it is a glass screen. The Manta has a flexible plastic screen. Software is identical so it really comes down to size.

Great video, thanks, have just subscribed to your channel! Does Palma 1 or 2 have sunken/recessed screen, or both models (and colors) have the same screen? I know that Leaf 2 have different screens (sunken and flush) on their two different colors, black or white, but not sure if that's the case with the Palmas. Thanks!

I haven’t noticed a single one of these weird things you’re demonstrating. In three months of using it all day I have used the light twice. I would never turn it on all day long. Seriously disagree with every one of your complaints. Return it and use your iPad.

Maybe you could tell us what firmware version each one has. The 3.16 update had significant changes.

This is a really good comparison. I've heard about inconsistencies between the screens. You do a good job of showing it by swapping sides to adjust for light.

this line looks like a hardware fault of the e-Ink. Do you know how it functions? The ball that create color seem not to switch correctly - talk to Remarkable I guess they will send you a new device.

Paperwhite Signature Edition has the wireless charger, regular Paperwhites do not. Amazon just discontinued the Oasis model which had page turners on it.
