I have never launched there however a long time ago I used to bank fish around Italian slough. I don’t know if division of boating and waterways spray down there yet but if they did, try heading out towards the main river and fish the islands.

Yes you should! Experiment with rattles or no rattle and the fish will quickly tell you what they prefer on a given day.

I head up to snodgrass slough or I’ll make my way down the Mokelumne River. Depends where I want to fish.

@@KennyisBusyFishing I have a paddle kayak so it’s challenging to get as far as I’d want to go. I went up mokelumne river and had no luck lol. Keep up the great videos!

@@MegaEliteGamingFTW Mokelumne River is a bit tricky to fish. There are certain areas where it’s productive and some areas is dead water. Flats with good vegetation usually holds fish and where I catch them but deeper water with no veggie I don’t catch anything unless there is wood nearby.

Steve’s a great guy to fish with and you’ll learn a thing or two about the delta from him. The river is alive and all the fish are feeding up for the winter ahead!

Nice dude! Quality size delta redears right there🎣 We were trying to find slab size redears but instead we found massive schools of bluegill instead haha. We caught some crappie as well but nothing too big. I’ll be heading back out there and try to locate some of the bigger size panfish!

@@oscartopete828 that’s good man! I lost mines on a crankbait.. the big ones don’t show up often but when they do gotta make it count haha.

Hopefully this weekend the warm weather will perk them fish back up and get them going!

@@KennyisBusyFishing thinking about renting from Kokopelli Kayak Rentals, which is on the San Joaquin river. Would it be difficult fishing the big river on a kayak? Its also close to sevenmileslough and the mokelumne river. Kinda hard to find marinas that offer kayak rentals haha

@@feedingtime7059 Stay away from the big river area and check out seven mile slough. I’m confident there is bass in that dead end slough.

@@feedingtime7059 if you’re targeting stripers then do fish the main river however be careful of boat traffic and the wind.

I was using the jackall aska 70 crankbait. It’s discontinued unfortunately but can still be bought if you search around the internet. It’s an expensive hard bait as well. Any crankbait in the sizes 2.5 will do though! Rip it off weeds to get bites is the key to get those lazy thick bass to eat🎣

I’ve been launching out of new hope marina. Snodgrass slough is where I’ve been fishing a lot lately! Find deeper grass lines on low tide. Fish the floating veggie and primrose/alligator weed matts on higher tide. If you find some wood always target that piece of cover🎣

Glad to hear that man! Once the water temp gets colder I’ll downsize to 1.5 but for now I’m sticking with the 2.5 size.

The big ones know how to get away for sure haha Still got some time left in the year to redeem myself and hopefully run into another delta toad

Thanks for watching my fishing session!🫱🏼‍🫲🏻 Yeah my seat reclines but I usually adjust the straps to my comfortability. I haven’t had any issue regarding the steering lever hitting my seat frame. The key ring they provide is cheap and should be replace immediately. Soon I’m going to do a complete breakdown of the kayak itself after a couple more trips.

I caught some crappies before in that area but they were small ones. When the colder season arrives I’ll put time into finding better crappie sizes for sure! If you have a kayak then maybe someday we fish together out there🎣

Thanks for tuning in!🫱🏼‍🫲🏻 There’s definitely pros and cons to kayak fishing but I love fishing in one. I get a good workout from it and getting close encounter bites are fun! I also don’t have the storage and space to have a boat but someday I will haha.

Most of the time boat traffic isn’t too bad but considering it was Labor Day weekend, it got bad at times.
